I don't really know how I feel about this novel. The beginning sucked me in, it had my interest, I was invested but then... nothing really exciting happens. We are given wealthy, perfect characters, side stories that don't really do much for the "big" picture. The amount of characters to keep track of is lengthy, yet you don't really know much about anyone in the end. As a reader of thrillers, I just don't think this was meant for me. Roberts is a fantastic writer. This book was well-written, just not what I had in mind when I picked it up and read the synopsis. Having said that, I am still a fan and plan to continue to read Roberts' work.

Thank you NetGalley and publishers for an eARC of Legacy in exchange for an honest review.
This story follows Adrian, who is a fitness/lifestyle influencer. When she was a child, her father showed up to her house and tried to kill her and her mother. He was the one that died instead. This is where the story starts. We follow Adrian as she grows into an adult and eventually come to present day where she’s working from her grandparents home and running a successful company that’s under the umbrella of her mother’s fitness company.
Roberts is a comfort author of mine. I think that’s because her stories lean toward predictable and are a bit formulaic. I found myself being reminded of her past books while reading Legacy with the way certain characters speak and just the overall way the story is told. I don’t want this to be taken as a negative thing because Roberts is a comfort author for me, so sometimes I just need those books where I know everything will be okay and there will be lovable characters along the way.
The characters are really what stand out in this book. I don’t know that I actually like Adrian, but she was so well developed and we got to see that development happen so it was hard not to be invested in her story. But there were many great characters. We follow them for such a long period of time, that it’s hard not to care for them. But because we started the story so early in Adrian’s life, the ending felt a bit rushed. The romantic relationship didn’t feel like there was enough time to be as in love as they were.
Overall, I enjoyed this book while I was reading it. The story was well written and interesting. The characters were well developed and lovable. But the plot felt a bit missing. I will always love Roberts books. But this one just fell a bit flat for me.

Such a beautiful journey from a young girl's first taste of fear and tragedy to her ultimate taste of pure happiness. This story follows Adrian and her life - encompassing her childhood dreams, her teen years of forging her own path, and her adult years of finding peace and contentment in her family and friends. This story will easily make you remember all of the feelings of being young and trying to chase your dreams, and forging friendships that will stand the test of time. The hope and resilience of Adrian will stay with you long after you are done reading.

The story also has side portions which follow Raylan, the brother of Adrian's best friend. Because it is a Nora Roberts book, the reader will know there must be a romance brewing - but yet the way this evolves, you might find yourself second-guessing that assumption.

The character development is superb, as always from Nora Roberts. The story is mostly dialogue, although there are countless instances of perfectly captured moments where the scene is described so vividly that you can picture yourself right there with Adrian or Raylan.

This is not a mere contemporary romance, as there is a suspenseful mystery intertwined. However, that is just a very small portion of the first two sections of the book, and does not really become a focus until the last section. I personally would have liked to have seen a bit more of the suspense worked into earlier sections, instead of just the hints we got, but the way it is structured and woven into this story does make perfect sense and works in the overall theme of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of the e-ARC of this wonderful story in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martins Press Group for the ARC!

This was an engaging story with a lot of great character depth, a little romance, and a little mystery. Nora Roberts is a comfort author for me, and that is how this book felt...comfy. I ADORED Adrian's grandparents, the found family aspect of this book, and the pacing of watching the relationships grow in this story. I enjoyed when the mystery picked up during the last part of the book (of course). I would recommend this if you're looking for another solid story from Roberts that is both a little heartwarming and a little intriguing.

I always know that I will love the newest Nora Roberts book. Legacy is a story about coming of age and fighting the darkness to find your way, your purpose in life. Adrian and Raylan are characters that you will want to hang out with over and over. My only wish is that Adrian were real so I could sign up for her yoga classes!

I had high expectations for this story after reading and LOVING Hideaway! That book was one of my favorites, and while this was also a great read, it comes in second to Hideaway. I do really enjoy Nora Roberts' strong characters and their relationships with others, and this book was no different. This story does have domestic abuse has a theme, so that could be a trigger warning for some. Overall, I really enjoyed this one.

Legacy by Nora Roberts is a suspenseful and romantic story where a legacy of love meets a legacy of hate.

This book is a mixed bag. I can usually count on Nora Roberts's stand-alone books to have interesting characters, a believable romance, and a good mystery. This one was disappointing. The main character was an annoying fitness expert who pushed her ideas on all her friends. But, on the other hand, she had a sweet relationship with her grandparents. I guessed who the killer was almost from the beginning, so the mystery wasn’t great. As for the romance, it didn’t seem believable. The dogs and the kids were great characters and were the most enjoyable part of the book. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

TW: domestic violence, shooting, child abuse, drug and alcohol abuse.

I do not believe the synopsis gives this book enough credit. This is the life story of Adrian and those closest to her. The death threats are scattered throughout and come to a head at the end. It is a beautiful story of growing from bad experiences and absolute drive. The characters are so loving it is hard not to feel a bit of jealously. The other great thing about this book is that it goes through all the emotions. I cried (aka sobbed), I chuckled, and I even through my phone down, yelled at the author and walked away. Thankfully, when I got up the nerve to go back to reading things looked hopeful. While this book is not action packed, the events in all the characters lives keeps you invested..

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read this book for an honest review. The book starts off with a bang as 8 year old Adrian witnesses a horrible attack to her Mother by her father. This book than goes on through Adrian's life as she grows up and he relationship with her Mother and her Grandparents. She goes to live with her Grandparents who are the type that you would want for your own. This book has lots of twists and turns in true Nora Roberts fashion. Totally recommend!

OMG what an awesome story! I've always loved Nora Roberts stories and this one was amazing! It is very long, but setup as 3 parts. The tense interactions between Adrian and Lina could be felt, it was written so powerfully. As time goes on you can tell how their interactions change and get better/easier. The love between characters shines and makes you smile. The mystery of who is sending the poems confused me, I wavered between culprits throughout the story and ended up being right in the end. All around a wonderful story that I didn't want to put down, but taking care of family forced me to :) Great read, very highly recommend!

Adrian met her father for the first time when she was seven. He almost killed her but her mother stepped in and pushed him. Lina, her mother, is famous for making workout videos, takes Adrian to her grandparents for the summer. Ok years later Adrian, while still in high school, starts her own exercise videos. This is where she meets three of her best friends, and they remain friends.

At seventeen, Adrian receives her first death threat written as a poem. Her mother says that’s the price for success. But she gets one a year until they start coming more frequently and then the murders begin. No one at first connects them until a private investigator starts investigating for Adrian and her mother.

Raylan was a couple of years older than Adrian and his sister was one of Adrian’s best friends. Raylan writes and illustrates comic books. When tragedy strikes both families, Adrian decides to stay with her grandfather and Raylan and his two children move back into town. Will they find the stalker before he comes for Adrian.

Let me just say... this was freaking awesome. Nail biting suspense. Two dogs that fall for each other ( which is too cute ). You will need Kleenex’s near bye. It is a little long, and I kept wanting it to get on with it. I would recommend this story.

.Thank you to Net Galley for the advanced copy of this book. I have loved Nora Robert's books for years and I continue to love them. Her stand alone romantic suspense novels are compelling and hold you until the end. This book took a while to get you really gripped into the story although a good one from the start. By the end, you cannot put it down as you have to find out how it ends. As often the case the main female character in the book has a strong personality but does not hesitate to take some help from the main male character. Both of these characters in this book were extremely easy to like and to root for. I have and will continue to recommend Nora Robert's stand alone romantic suspense books to all of those that are looking for a great read that holds you on the edge of your seat.

Legacy by Nora Roberts
I love reading books by Nora Roberts. She's always amazed me by the different variety of books she writes. "Legacy" is a great book from the very beginning. I found all characters to be realistic and very likeable. Legacy is a page-turner. You see how Adrian grows from a young girl who see her father die to a very strong adult, whom determines her own path in life. You see friendships develop and how important friend's are in your life. There is a mystery, which I really loved. You know how you try to determine who's doing it. That's what makes a great book and this is good!

I would recommend this book if you love another great page-turner to curl up with during these cold days.

I received this complementary copy from Netgally for a honest review. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

LEGACY is a roller coaster ride of epic proportions! It is full of twists and turns, ups and downs, and some screaming thrown in for good measure. It is packed full of emotions too, so it is hard to put a finger on how I feel about the novel as a whole.

Nora uses strong characters to bring the story alive for the reader. The suspense builds almost from the beginning. It is well written, although some of the tragedy seems cliché, it proves its purpose in the story line. I especially love the dogs in the novel! They really steal the show! Overall, another strong read from the legend, Nora Roberts.

A special thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the ARC.

More high quality romantic suspense from Nora Roberts. All of the trademarks of Nora Robert's best work - fast-paced plot, great characters and a happy ending. Highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense.

I really enjoyed this story. The story of Lina and Adrian. Lina a single Mom and as she said not always the best. Adrian and how she loved her grandparents and ended up living with them when she was older and how she took care of them. Also she and her Mom made work out videos when she was a child and how she came to do them on her own. Then there is the story of her friends and the new man in her life. Please poems being sent to her r/t killing her. See how this all comes together to make a very good read.

This book started out well but somewhere in the middle I got bored. I think the plot slowed and the details weighed it done. Plus I figured out some of the story. I think if it had been shorter I would've enjoyed it more. I will say the main character is one kick ass woman!
Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.
