When I see a Nora Roberts title on the shelf at a bookstore, without any hesitation, I know I'll enjoy the book. Legacy was no different.
In true Roberts fashion, this story provided a rollercoaster of emotions and really tugged at my heartstrings!

Legacy is divided into three parts. One being Adrian's backstory and her growing up, which moved pretty quickly. Parts two and three provide more depth into Adrian's story as an adult and it felt like the pacing was a bit slower once the story settled into adult Adrian. There's even a look into the eyes of the crazed killer! Definitely some suspense and thrill from this story and just enough romance to keep the warm and fuzzy feelings Roberts is so good at providing!

I thought this book was really well done and I got sucked into it big time! There were times it moved faster than I wanted just because I really didn’t want it to end. The family dynamics of the characters are well developed and the relationships are believable and fun to watch grow. I would definitely recommend this book.

I’m a huge fan of Nora Roberts and typically await her annual standalone romantic suspense with bated breath. But I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about LEGACY. Ms. Roberts excels at writing family, friendships, community, and highly relatable characters one can get emotionally invested in-- and LEGACY has that in spades. It’s an excellent family story set primarily in a town (Traveller’s Creek) that is its own highly three-dimensional and evocative character. The heroine, Adrian, is fun, relatable, and easy to like. The hero, Raylan, is a prince among men, in an authentic, loveable, and endearing way. The two of them are easy and perfect together in a way that’s heartwarming. And the canine love story between Jasper and Sadie is charming and hilarious. So why the mixed feelings? The suspense plot is subpar: slow (honestly, it only really gets mildly exciting in the last ~5% of the book), predictable (knew the villain the second I stepped out of the family story long enough to ask “hmm, who could it be?”), and not really woven into the story in a way that makes it feel essential or even remotely relevant. It feels like an afterthought, and it drags. As an avid reader of hardcore romantic suspense--and having read all of Ms. Roberts’ other RS titles with much more legit suspense elements-- I expect suspense to be integral to the story when I pick up a title billed as “romantic suspense”. This most definitely was not that-- it was an enjoyable, well-written, family-focused contemporary. Nora Roberts never disappoints--she’s a romance legend for a reason!-- but just go into LEGACY with the appropriate expectations.

This seems strange to say for such a prolific author, but this is the first book I’ve read by Nora Roberts!

I’m used to reading really fast-paced thrillers, and I nearly gave up on this several times at the beginning because it seemed to be moving so slowly. But then I realized this isn’t a book you read straight through - it’s one you enjoy over time at a slower pace.

There are no surprises in this book. It’s a family saga that travels over time and space — it starts and ends with two parallel tragedies, and we get to know Adrian and her family over time. There's a lovely romance, the formula unfolded as we knew it would, and it was satisfying in the end.

Nora Roberts is the undeniable queen of romance/women's fiction. LEGACY in another perfect example of her skill and talent. I loved this book. I will buy several copies for my library collection, including a book club set.

Oh my! This is an emotional story and it did keep me on the edge of my seat. Adrian is a seven year old child whose father is attacking her mother’s friend and going after Adrian. He ends up causing damage to Adrian’s arm but Lina who is Adrian’s mom goes after him and he ends up dying. It was in self defense so Lina is not charged but unfortunately Adrian witnessed this tragic incident. Adrian’s father had been married with children and a college professor when he had an affair with Lina why she was in college. He had always accused Lina of ruining his life. Her mother takes Adrian to her grandparents house to recuperate and that is where she becomes best friends with Maya. Adrian’s grandparents run Rizzio’s restaurant and Maya’s mother worked for them.
Lina was a yoga guru and had established video series named Yoga and Baby which Adrian was in these videos. While Adrian was growing up she would teach Maya yoga and loved being with her. Maya had a brother named Raylan that was the typical young boy he didn’t want anything to do with his sister or Adrian.
As Adrian became older she decided to make her own yoga videos and started without her mom’s knowledge. She was going to make this her living. Lina did finally get on board with this. Lina had been getting some nasty notes early on but she disregarded them because of her business status. Then all of a sudden Adrian starts getting the threatening notes. She did give them to the police and then they started to come more frequent. It was starting to alarm Adrian very much. Who were sending these threatening notes? Then Adrian’s grandmother is in a horrible car crash and dies. So Adrian decide to move back to be with her Grandfather to help him.
Shortly after that Raylan’s wife Lorilee ends up getting shot and killed by a student at school. So Raylan moves back to be close to his mom so she could be with her grandkids.
What I really thought was awesome was how when Adrian had to start at a new school she sat down with the nerds and that is who ends up being a big part of her life and business.
You will not be disappointed in this book.

The vivid setting, the numerous three dimensional relationships with family and friends, the sweet and slightly spicy central romance, the mystery threaded through...Nora Roberts latest is pitch perfect- as always!

Adrian Rizzo is following in her Moms footsteps making fitness videos. We watch Adrian grow and up and become a strong independent woman. Thru the years Adrian has been getting alarming poems in the mail, someone has been stalking her for years and the police are not able to help her. I liked the fact that the women in the book were strong, all of the characters were relatable. This book has suspense, romance, family and friends who love and support each other. In the end this book revolves around personal relationships between the characters with suspense in the background. The story is compelling and will hold your interest. I look forward to the next book by this author, she can always be depended on to deliver. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

If you are looking to branch out from straight up romance novels then Nora Roberts is for you. In Legacy she hits all of the classic points that she is well known for. The characters are interesting and relatable. The chronicle of events is specific and easily followable. You really got the full back stop, as you watch the characters grow, form relationships, experience loss, and then come back again full circle and love again. There is just enough thriller there and intrigue to capture the attention of readers of both genres. Legacy is worth the read!

I have read Nora’s books for as long as I can remember. Looking forward to her release dates every year. A few years ago that ended. I’m not sure what happened; she had lost her luster. Legacy brought it back. I love the female characters that are tough, yet very feminine as well. The love of family is a very strong power. The characters in this story make their own from beloved relatives to friends that are chosen as family. This book was what I always looked forward to from Nora. I am happy to enjoy her again.

Legacy is a good story about a woman who survives a traumatic experience in childhood and an emotionally distant mother to become successful as an online exercise instructor dealing with the bumps in life along the way. I don't feel like this is quite elevated into the great category. The underlying story of her being stalked doesn't feel like it adds a lot to the story and is easy to figure out. The interactions, for all that they are positive and life-affirming just feel somewhat pedestrian and predictable. The love scenes were quite possibly the most awkward parts of the book. Roberts definitely shines in creating positive, optimistic people that build each other up; the only conflict Adrian has is with her very driven mother. Raylon is an almost too perfect father, having dance parties, making school lunches and never seeming to get mad at his kids. In short, the book almost seems to be too free of conflict. It's a nice, easy read that doesn't require a lot of thinking and should fill you with generally happy thoughts.

For this being a Nora Roberts book, I was surprised how it turned out. There is a strong family bond within the characters, as always with her books, but I felt like some bonds were lacking with the children. Adrian Rizzio, main character, ends up with a father of 2 and there was not a lot of details of her interactions with the children. Just comments made in passing. Predictable protagonist. The whole story felt rushed.

It’s a Nora Roberts book, so you already know it’s wonderful! She’s an amazing author and incredibly talented at creating characters that are so realistic that you feel like you can actually see and speak to. I was drawn in from page one and enjoyed reading it until the end. Definitely recommend!

Legacy, is the first Nora Roberts book that I've read. It is a lot longer than the normal books that I read. It started out with Adrian's very young childhood. I'm used to books that just gloss over the childhood of characters. This was the only negative that I felt about the book. I really enjoyed the story once I got past part 1. There are three parts to this book.

Normally, I fly through a new NR. Too quickly apparent who the potential threat to protagonist Adrian Rizzardi would be removed the normal feeling of suspense I feel as a NR reader. There was a twist in the romance part of the story, but per the usual story arch all worked out neatly. The dogs were the most enjoyable part of this book. Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read the latest book by one of my favorite authors.

Adrian Rizzo has never been one to let people tell her what to do. At a very young age, she overcame a traumatic situation with her biological father and went on to produce yoga and workout videos before she was even out of high school. Unfortunately, her success brings the attention of a crazy person, who writes her every year, threatening her. Now that she has moved out of NY and near her family, the letters have escalated. Although Adrian still lives her life, she knows this matter must be resolved...before someone winds up dead.
Legacy by Nora Roberts is yet another winner. Roberts is a true master, making each character fully realized and enjoyable. The story hurtles along, immersing the reader in her world. She also includes so many different elements that you never feel like you are reading just one genre. Legacy is one of my favorite books that I have read by Nora Roberts. Five stars!

It has been so long since I picked up a Nora Roberts book, and I definitely missed her writing. Legacy didn't disappoint.! Every chapter was packed with suspense, intrigue, and romance! I loved the small-town setting; it felt very "Stars Hallow-ish" to me. The connection to her found family also made me love Adrian even more. I also loved that the story spanned several years of Adrian's life; this helped me connect with her.

My only complaint was that I didn't love the social media influence aspect of Adrian's life. I just found it out of character of her. She didn't strike me as the type of person that would do that for a living, so it felt a little disjointed.

I would recommend this to mystery/suspense/romance readers. I am so glad I finally got around to picking up a Nora Roberts book again.

Oh how I love Nora Roberts and this didn’t disappoint. I love when the stories are just family dramas and while there is romance it’s not the focus of the story. The focus is family and what you do when they need you. 1st chapter in and Adrian has already survived her bio dad who she doesn’t know trying to kill her, her nanny Mimi and her mother Lina which just hooks me and I can’t put it down cuz I need to know what happens next. Adrian spends the summer in Maryland with her grandparents in the town her mother ran away from, but she loves where she meets her new BFF Maya and her older brother Raylon. She stays there the whole summer while Lina deals with the fallout from the press with the attempted murder and everything since she is getting pretty famous as a fitness instructor. We next see Adrian at 16 putting her foot down with mom about no more travel that she is staying in school and hoping to make new friends. What she is really doing is recruiting the nerds from her elite prep school to help her record some yoga tutorials to put up on YouTube so she can have something of her own that isn’t attached to her mother’s brand which develops into lifelong friendships and working relationships when her mother pulls her videos under her brand with Adrian having complete control. Where we get to everyone being an adult and the tragedies that transpire and how they overcome them which is just so heart wrenching and so well written. I love how well written this is and how the mystery which is anonymous threatening messages that Adrian has been receiving in the mail once a year since she was 16 and the killer pov which is threaded throughout the narrative and we don’t have any clue who it could be until like ¾ of the way through the book. The tension at the end with the killer being revealed and oh the culmination was just so satisfying. The only thing that was missing was an epilogue since it ends a little abruptly and I really want to read what happens next.

Nora Roberts is such a legend of romand and mystery books. This book does not disappoint, it’s gripping and twisty and great. I can not recommend this enough!
