This was a cute, laugh-out-loud story, whose main characters were a hoot. The story takes place in a community that is surrounded by the golf club they either work for or play at.

When Libby woke up that morning, she would have never expected to see the most hated member of the club and in the community, dead on the golf course. The night before, he was confronted by his current wife and girlfriend for his cheating lies in front of the whole board. It was their monthly meeting and after the women walked in, things got very interesting.

Now that Mickey's death is ruled a homicide, the hot, new sheriff wants Libby's help trying to find the killer. Mickey had a lot of enemies in town, so the list is long.

The night that the board meeting was also interrupted by the new husband and wife team that own a church with a large following. They want the name of the club changed along with the different holes. Fairway to Heaven has been there for years and they aren't going to allow him to threaten their club. But soon after Mickey is killed, another member dies as well.

Libby's afraid that she might be next to a disturbing call she received.

An enjoyable read.

Review:
I went into this story thinking that I am gonna love it and read it quickly. Unfortunately I was mistaken.
Even though the chapters are short and the story is light read i found myself being able to just put it way. I wansn’t pulled by the story mainly beacuse the majority of the plot is based on what is happening to Libby, her life and those around her, and not on the murder(s) and suspects.

This book didnt suit me but if you are looking for a cozy, fun read- a story with a female protagonist that involves a small city, a love interest and some mystery with a murder this can quite easily be the book for you.

I would like to thank the publisher The Wild Rose Press, and @netgalley for providing me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was definitely a hole in one story! Great depth of character for each player and a plot that had the makings of a wicked slice. I certainly hope that this is a series starter because Libby is a perfect cozy character and her family is a hoot. Not to mention that we need to see if Sheriff Riley is the guy that Libby as been waiting for. Not that she needs a guy, she is one self sufficient single Mom with a dynamite daughter named Sophie. The whole family, from Dad and his honey bee business to matronly Abigail Cavendish and the naughty novel that Libby is ghost writing for her. There just has to be a follow up or at least another mystery involving either the Fairway to Heaven golf course or the golf course family. My only regret is that I let the ARC "sit" on my virtual shelf as long as I did. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in return for my unbiased opinion.

Too much fun! Great characters and a really wacky plot. I'll have to reread it to check out the sleuthing because I had so much fun reading the other stuff in one go. I totally LOVED it! Terrific diversion from reality.

I requested and received a temporary free ebook copy from The Wild Rose Press, Inc via NetGalley. Thank you!

I received this ARC via Netgalley and The Wild Rose Press, Inc., in return for an honest review. This is the first book in this series. Libby McKenna manages the Fairway to Heaven golf course, aided by her father, daughter and a crew of good and bad employees. Dealing with the golfers is the hardest problem. When the club’s chairman of the board is found dead on the course, Libby gets pulled into solving the crime by the new (and sexy) sheriff. Meanwhile, her long-lost husband shows up which causes a whole ‘nother set of problems for Libby and her family.
This was a good cozy with a whole cast of interesting characters who might or might not have killed the obnoxious dead man. Fun to read and it will be interesting to see what happens to Libby in her next book.

What a fun fast-paced cozy mystery! I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Marilee does a superb job weaving the mystery with quirky characters and whip-smart dialogue. Highly recommend!

My Rating: 5 stars

This is a high octane cozy mystery. Not only am I introduced to 14 characters and a cat with an unbecoming personality in the first 15 pages of story, but also the action is piled on in quick succession. Every now and then I wanted to come up for a breather, so I can only imagine what Libby McKenna was going through.

Despite the fact there’s a lot going on in this story, there is actually very little sleuthing going on. Could simply be because Libby is too busy with her own life to find out who killed Mickey Warren and why. We only find out that no one liked him. Libby doesn’t compile a suspects list and I think she only talked to one person who might be considered a suspect.

The story is fun, but the mystery could have been more present.

A Women Scorned by Marilee Brothers is a very funny cozy mystery, and my first book by this author. I loved this book, and laughed out loud the whole book. Libby McKenna and her father run the Fairway to Heaven golf course. When the murdered body of the Chairman of the Board is found on the golf course, the sleuthing begins. Not only is this book funny, but it has a good mystery too. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys funny mysteries, you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to reading more books by Ms. Brothers.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A light-hearted romp on a golf course. Delightful protagonist with many interesting friends and family members. Fun names of things and many amusing moments throughout. It should keep you smiling during this troubling time. Worked even better than Calgon.

Fun, fast paced cozy mystery that had me laughing out loud. Murder runs amok on a local golf force, and the victim had a lot of enemies. It was fun trying to determine who the perpetrator was.

Thank you NetGalley, Marilee Brothers, The Wild Rose Press, Inc for the ARC of A Woman Scorned.
This is my personal review for the ARC.
Libby McKenna is going to be around for a while! There is everything in this book you could every want!
Libby McKenna finds a body at the golf course Fairway to Heaven she runs. The body is the Chairman of the Board Mickey Warren. Finding who killed him is going to be tough because he had plenty of enemies.
Riley O’Conner is the new sheriff, and he asks Libby to help him solve the mystery. Little did she realize this would really be a huge change in her life.

Just what I needed right now! I’ve been in a reading slump but I flew through this book. Witty and fun! Reminds me of a Janet Evanovich/Stephanie Plum book. Crazy lovable characters with several little stories within a story. Smart heroine. Fun little romance. Tight family. Good stuff! Loved it!
