I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Another great book from one of my favorite authors. Highly recommend to friends and family.

I didn't think I would like the book as much as I did. I had so much fun reading it and I can't stop talking about it. I will definitely check out more for Catherine Edward's books until I can read part 2.

4.5 Stars!

I love paranormal so this was right up my alley. While the author is new to me I will say that enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I'm not a bit vampire reader but this sounded far to good to pass up.

Mia is in hiding and that her adopted father has worked hard to keep her safe. Now she's being followed and he's not answering her calls. That brings us to Aaron Randolph who is avenging his mother's death at the hand of the vampires.

Mia and Aaron are great characters and I feel like I need to say that he's a virgin! It was such a big deal because I normally read a lot of alpha hero books and they are never virgins so this was an awesome change.

If you love paranormal like do then this is the book that you want to read. I wasn't able to put it down. Although, I took off a half star though because this ends in a sort of to be continued in the next book. It's not a full on cliffhanger but now I need to read the next book. My OCD won't allow me not to.

DNF 62%
It looks so badass but unfortunately it dose not live up to it`s hype. I did not really feel anything regarding Mia, she was alright? i guess? but it bothered me how quickly she just accsepted Aaron and the people there. She went so quickly from "kill me i`m a monster" to "alright, i trust you guys to train me., wich speaking of bothered me with Aaron as well he went so quickly from disliking her, not wanting her to "yeah she`s my mate!" i think it was the fact that i felt they had no chemistry that did it. If they had, had any it wouldn`t be any issue. Plus there were alot going on and i was not feeling it wich made me DNF it. I was just not invested.

I started this book and liked it well enough. The plot was interesting and the characters were relatable. Unfortunately, it started dragging for me. I wanted to see where Aaron and Mia ended up, but I just couldn’t get back into it. It ended up being a DNF.

In fairness, it could have been me - it was kind of a rough month for me - rather than an issue with the book itself.

This was a great paranormal read for those who love vampire and werewolves content. This author had a good twist and I liked the set of the book. However, even though the content was good I think the character development could be a little better. I felt like it was a lot of she and he said. I wanted to immerse myself in the book but felt like the overall narrative held the reader back a little. I think this book could be better if we got to invest more in the primary character. I wanted to like her so bad but felt like she lacked personality. The ARC was provided by Netgalley. I would rate this a 3 out of 5.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I was not sure I would love this star-crossed lovers tale. I have seen them in the past and had my doubt going into this book. I have to say that Aaron and Mia were wonderful and complex characters. A story of love, discovery, old rivals, and plenty of twists. The story was well written and action packed. Mia is trying to discover who and what she is and meets Aaron along the way. But Aaron being the King of the Lycans and Mia being a vampire but something more draws a line in their newly discovered feeling for each other. There are other characters at play with there own thoughts and wants. I can't want to get my hands on the next book.

I won’t lie I’m almost DNF this one. The beginning is very confusing and not very interesting. After awhile I put the book down and just had to give it time. After trying again it finally built and was enjoyable to read. Mia was a very likable
Character and you get quite a mix of vampires, werewolves, and vampires. It was a decent read.

This was a pretty good book. It was kind of a loose paranormal Romeo and Juliet (or Underworld) where two people from opposing sides are drawn to each other. I love this trope, so it drew me in. It took a bit to get through the beginning, but once I got past it, the book drew me right in. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend.

Lycan's Blood Queen is fast-paced, paranormal, sexy good fun.

Mia has grown up knowing about mythical creatures but she has also grown up knowing she was in hiding. Her adopted father has always tried to keep her safe. Mia knows her time in town was limited but was hoping she could finish out her degree before she has to move on for her own safety. But soon she notices men are following her and then she is attacked. Her father isn't answering her calls and she just knows her time is up.

Aaron Randolph is King of the Lycans. After his mother's murder, he has taken up the mantle from his father as their whole pack focuses on taking revenge on the vampires for his mother’s death. Vampires are slowly starting to descend on their pack, leaving bodies just outside the border of their territory, and reports of captured humans and missing lycans are adding up. When Aaron gets notice that a mysterious female is living in his territory and a warlock is found living just outside it, he must bring them in for questioning. What should be a simple task turns anything but as he learns the mysterious woman is potentially the answer to all their problems.

Mia's storyline was very exciting. I loved how she slowly comes into her true self and we got to discover with her and feel with her as she discovered who and what she truly was. I felt for the girl and all her processing on her preconceived notions about her true self. I do wish we had more from Aaron on his feelings or instincts/impulses from his lycan half versus him just accepting whatever was going on with well everything. I did love that he accepted and supported Mia almost right off the bat as he discovered her true nature. He accepted her WAY faster than she did herself. I also wish Aaron's first time way more of a big deal because how often do we get a virgin male MC? I wanted it to be I guess just MORE but se la vie.

I am always on the look for new authors and new paranormal series to read. I will say this sort of reminded me of Kresley Cole's A Hunger Like No Other in that we get a similar special female storyline and a similar lycan storyline. So if you loved the Immortals After Dark series this one should be a good fit. Catherine Edward is a new-to-me author, so I will def be searching through her backlog for more of her work.

BIG warning here- this is kind of a To Be Continued ending. It's not a 100% cliffhanger situation but we definitely don't get the yummy closure we all crave. If you are the type to have no chill in these situations just know you will NEED the next book almost immediately after. It is killing me right now that I don't have it on hand. I need to know what happens! But we are in luck b/c I think book #2, The Hybrid Queen, was published recently... so I just have to figure out how I'm going to get my hot little hands on it. 'Cuz, again, I NEED to know!

ARC from NetGalley

I know that ARCs are often in need of further edits, but this was like it was written by someone who didn't speak English as their first language.

I finished it, so it wasn't entirely awful, but it wasn't good. We have the traditional insta-love that comes with the mating bond. I actually like the mating bond trope, but I prefer there be a bit more build up, especially in a book that doesn't have a plot that's gripping enough to carry forward without it. I don't really have much else to say. I wouldn't recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an arc to review!

This is like a 3/5, I did enjoy certain parts, and I did like it enough to not DNF, but it didn't blow me away and I don't see a desire to continue on with the duology at the moment.

The sex scenes were fun though. And I enjoyed the romance that we did get. The feelings between Aaron and Mia were some good stuff and they are basically all of my favorite scenes in this book.

And I do like the added layers of complexities to lycans, vampires, and witches that I hadn't read about before. But I just was not totally invested in the overall story. I think part of this is that there are so many characters introduced that even towards the end I was getting names confused. There are a lot of male characters in this and a lot don't do a lot and could've been cut without anything of value being lost. A similar feeling towards all the POVs we get, I do like them all and think that all the POVs are crucial to the plot. However, we got almost too much of some of them to the point that the plot wasn't as exciting? Like the antagonists spilled their entire plan to us through their POV so there is never any worry because we already knew what was coming for most of the story.

The plot reveal about who Mia's mother is was very nice and I didn't see it coming.

There were also enough spelling errors that I started to notice them. "Hycinth" was spelled "Hyacinth" at least twice. Same with the name "Melisa" being spelled "Melissa" a few times.

Still at least a solid read, and this might just be a case of the wrong person for the book.

I enjoyed the concept and premise of this book but unfortunately I didn’t love it overall. The descriptions and language were overly formal, tedious and clunky, making it hard to get through. The tenses switched often, which sometimes made it hard to tell who’s thoughts I was reading about. I wanted to like this one, but it was just very difficult to get through, despite the interesting premise.

Great concept but the flow from a readers perspective was difficult. The author changes character 1st person and second person perspective several times in the same paragraph. It is confusing on who is speaking who's thoughts I am reading.

Mia is aware of the supernatural world but not the extent she is a part of it. If you are looking for a more sexy Twilight this is a series for you. The book had some expected turns but that didn't leave you disappointed in the story. 4/5 stars

Mia knows that there are supernaturals in the world and even that she might be one but she has no idea what she could be. King of the Lyncans Aaron Randolph has Mia brought in for questioning under the belief she is one of his rivals. But will their hatred turn into the opposite? And will they be able to fight against the one who is trying to rule them all?

Overall this was a great read. The beginning started slow and the point of view jumped around so much it was hard to get a read on the characters until about 1/3 of the way into the book. But once in I could not put it down and now I will be waiting impatiently until the second book comes out!

This book was given to me an an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

I must start by saying this was a fantastic story. I wanted to enjoy every single page.... but..... There are stories that have you glued to the pages and this can totally be one of those. This is a different take on your typical PNR, I enjoyed how the author switched things up and the stories that lead up to these really great scenes were not predictable. I enjoyed their chemistry even though she was a bit to naïve and I feel like I could have used a bit more detail in who they were/are. But the grammatical errors are just disappointing, it reads like a rough draft. This book can be really amazing and I will be anxiously waiting for book 2. I just hope and assume this ARC is in the beginning stages corrections. I rated 4 out of 5 because the hard part of making the story addicting was almost a home run, but with so many errors that make me stumble in reading I could not let that go.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a slight different take on vampires and werewolves and such, slightly refreshing change.
A good story kept me hooked, Mia grew into a strong lead, and I shall look forward to the second in the series

I just loved this book - shifters, witches, magic, drama, sexy romance. Everything I love to read about and more.

So, in the beginning after the first few pages, I really felt like, ok, this is going to be a nice read. But then, after the first few chapters, it got better and better and better! I was just so in to the story that I finished the book within 2 days! I needed to learn about Mia, about Aaron and his brothers and of course I needed to find out if a certain beta female succeeds or what the hell is going on with Mia in the first place.

The style of writing kept me going and going and the story, thanks to the different povs, was just sooo good and brought all the right elements (at least for me) to the mix. And the protas are just so good, the dynamic between Aaron and Mia, I loved it, with all their ups and downs.

Now, I do have a book-hangover, and I can't wait for book 2 to be published!
