Honestly this was a big disapointment. Ididn’t get the point of this title. I was hyped by the firste few pages; the drawing is INSANE, but as I kept reading I just lost the interest I had. I was really bored so unfortunatelythis was not for me.

The premise looked so good and funny and, while it was funny -sometimes- it was kinda boring and bidimensional overall.
Each page felt like disjointed episodes and it was one note repeated over and over and over again. Damiano is horny and Angelina is busty and virginal. That's it.

Strange and colorful but very poor driven.

I get that this was supposed to mainly be fun, but it would have been so much better (and more fun) if the characters weren't so one-sided. All Angelina was was busty and naive, and Damiano was only horny. Now the humour only became embarrassing at times, altough there definitely were some really fun moments.

YIKES!
Oh... This was... bad... I enjoyed the first couple of pages but it just kept trying to be edgy when all it is is cliché and dumb.
Angelina is an angel with the intellect of a 5-year-old and big boobs. Damiano is a horny devil. I think you understand where this is going next. Damiano attempts to get laid while Angelina is this poor innocent thing that wants to wait till marriage.
This was neither sex-positeve or funny. I read half of the book and just skimmed through the rest of it.

I loved it 💕 very funny, bantering, loved the characters.
The illustrations are very nicely done 🙌🏻💕

The only thing I keep irritated about is that the pdf wouldn’t open on my iPad,
So had to open it on the laptop so I could finally read it 📖💕
But the novel is definitely worth the trouble 😅🤗💕

I really enjoyed reading this graphic novel. When I saw the cover I knew I had to check this out and the story did not disappoint. This was such a cute, yet extremely raunchy story. I loved all the R-rated humour and definitely laughed multiple times while reading. The characters were all portrayed so perfectly and had great personalities. It was so nice to read through Angelina and Damiano's relationship from when they first met to establishing their life together. I also love how Damiano's demon parents were kinder and more supportive of their relationship than Angelina's angel mother. You would think that the angels would have a better attitude so it was interesting to see this contrast. Overall this was a really cute story and I love the art style! I also loved the inclusion of the sketches and different versions of cover art!

When an angel gets a little bit naughty, and a devil gets tamed, what do you get? A page-turning story you can't put down!

The first thing that drew me to Un/Sacred was the artwork. I loved the overall style, with the innocent yet sexy angel and bad boy devil. The thought of an angel falling for the devil made me want to take a closer look. Still, I wasn't sure what to expect.

I found the dialogue between Angelina and Damiano to be hilarious. While there were sweet moments further into the story, her constant misunderstanding of his sexual innuendos kept me smiling and laughing from page to page. Some may consider Damiano's thoughts and actions juvenile or gross humor, but I enjoyed his character. He was exactly the way I'd expect a devil or demon to be portrayed. Angelina's wide-eyed innocence was cute, and while Angelina and Damiano were complete opposites, I think that's what made the story work so well. Even after she gave in and put the poor devil out of his misery, she still managed to keep him on his toes.

If you want a fun storyline and nice artwork, you can't go wrong with Un/Sacred. Who doesn't need a bit of humor in their lives with just the right amount of heat tossed in? I enjoyed every second of this story and now I feel the need to hunt down anything else Mirka Andolfo has created.

**Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review Un/Sacred. The review above is my honest opinion.

This was one of the strangest books I have read. I really liked the concept when I went in to it but overall it was quite misogynistic. I know that it was supposed to be sex positive but that does not excuse the way that Damiano treats Angelina in that aspect. I ended up giving this three stars because I still thought that it was entertaining.

This was really weird. Not in a bad way. It was a great graphic novel. The illustrations were funny and very adult. The content seemed to jump around a lot so sometimes I felt completely lost. It definitely read like a comic book where the Devil and Angel are in love and he’s trying to sleep with her, but she is not having it. Dirty and awkward and funny at points. Almost portrays women as sexual objects in the eyes of the Devil.

Mirka Andolfo's Un/Sacred Vol. 1 originally caught my attention for two reasons. First, there's that cover. It looks light and fun, with more than a fair share of humor. The second reason is that I have read Mirka Andolfo's previous works, and have found myself utterly charmed in the past.

So it is safe to say that I went into Mirka Andolfo's Un/Sacred Vol. 1 with high expectations. However, before I actually dive into my review, I should probably describe the premise of this series.

In this world created by Mirka Andolfo, an angel and a devil happen to meet, and eventually, fall in love. No, there's nothing figurative about that description. A literal angel, and a literal devil. Everything about their adventure, from their first meeting to the very last page, is marketed at sex-positive humor, with a slice of life feeling. Oh, and lots of humor, in case that wasn't clear.

There certainly wasn't any shortage of humor in Mirka Andolfo's Un/Sacred Vol. 1. There was essentially a joke to be found on every single page of this series. The jokes varied from being quick one-liners to requiring a full page of buildup.

Almost all of them revolved around the relationship between Angelina and Damiano, and their quirky adventures. On that note, there's no doubt that the series is sex-positive. It highlighted the good and the bad, the trials, efforts, and conversations that go into having a healthy relationship.

However, I do think that the series dropped the ball on a few points, and that is the reason I didn't like it more. Damiano and his friends are frequently portrayed as pigs (especially earlier in the novel), while Angelina very much reads like a bimbo at times. Both portrayals feel unfair, both to the characters and the readers.

It's a bit surprising, considering some of the complex writing I've seen from Andolfo in the past. Then again, this series does have a stronger humorous vein, so perhaps that is the biggest difference here.

I'll confess that this isn't quite the cute and comical series that I anticipated, given the cover. It is still a quirky and entertaining read, just not to the same level that I had hoped.

I love, love, love the art style! I mean we’ve all seen the Angel and demon romance before but I think this was an interesting take on that. The characters were funny and crazy at times and overall this is a great little quick read

This was my first time ever reading anything Mirka Andolfo, the cover is what originally drew me to this comic. An enjoyable read from start to finish. My rating would be a 3.5, so i'll round up to 4 stars. Mirka Andolfo's Un/Sacred Vol 1 by Mirka Andolfo from Diamond Book Distributors is about, "Angelina, a voluptuous angel, and Damiano, a mischievous devil, are madly in love. But, while she does not intend to give in to temptation, he would very much like to... This is the tale of their bizarre and spicy daily life!" The positives for this comic with no spoilers are that the art style is very cute. If you're into more of a sex positive comic, this is for you, that being said the negative is the plot is a little dull and runs on since a lot of the jokes are just sex ones.
Major thanks to Netgalley for providing a digital ARC of Mary in exchange for an honest review.

While this comic was not one of my typical reads, I did enjoy the humor filled story of Angelina and Damiano story. With the constant separation and occasional overlap of Heaven and Hell, angels and demons are either at eat other's throats or living in semi-harmony with one another. Angelina, a young and beautiful angel meets metal head demon Damiano who wants nothing more than to score points with Angelina. Skip ahead six years, the two have gone from a casual meeting to a full blow relationship. The twists and turns these two go through can be paralleled with any relationship happening now in society from disapproving parents, to immature best friends, and the constant battle between giving in or staying true. The more I read the story, the more I like the progression and respect Angelina and Damiano have for each other. This comic was definitely a surprise and not a disappointment like I was expecting. 5 out of 5 star rating!

Too problematic. Sex positive doesn't mean men can be douchebags and women characters to be that shallow and desperate. I mean who's writing this script. I just couldn't read this graphic novel beyond page 4. Done with it. I have a problem with this graphic novel series. And the illustrations started out cute but nope ended up really cringy. Keep this one censored. It's not even sexy. It's gross. There's a difference. Sorry for requesting this graphic novel, NetGalley. Please decline my requests from time to time.

This comic was funny in a crude kind of way for the first 20 pages or so but then the joke got old. It was the same skit over and over again about how the guy couldnt get laid and I just lost interest. The art was nice but I cant see myself finishing this one.

This comic starts off cute and is definitely true to the description of being sex-positive. It includes the idea of waiting to have sex, as well as an honest exploration between partners. The thing that prevents me from liking this book is the over objectification of the woman's bodies, particularly her breast. As a queer woman, I understand the appeal, but there's a point where the admiration becomes objectification, and in this case, that threshold is crossed very soon in the comic. In the end, I liked sex-positive writing, but not the characterization.

A demon finds a new level of hell when he wants to bed a gorgeously buxom, sexy angel – and has to wait seven years for her to put out. That's the entire shtick here – gags where they do everything but get to know each other biblically, before a semblance of plot manages to force itself onto proceedings. She finds innocent uses for a huge dildo, he – well, fixates on her boobs a lot. It's very teen-geared, and a little of it goes a long way, but it is just about sharp enough when it needs to be.

First up, thank you for allowing me to read this.

Sadly, this is just unreadable on my ADE. it already lags at the normal size, but since the normal size is just too tiny... I have to up the size which means that my ADE just LAGS and it takes minutes to scroll through 1 page. :| I was looking forward to reading this book in English. I read them in Dutch a couple of years ago but sadly the Dutch translation stopped after the first 3 volumes (and with that I mean the 60 page volumes). I thought I could read this one again to get used to the English translation and then be able to read the rest of the series when it comes out, so I am sad that I cannot do that.

If you want you can check out my Dutch review for the 3 volumes here, I know that Google Translate works OK-ish for Dutch-English.
