I received this as an audiobook for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

If you are someone who isn’t afraid to read about the adult tango, this may be nice for you. This is very explicit!

Trish is with her husband for 30 years only for him to tell her she’s boring, so she decided to show him how boring she is. She meets Dave who owns a BDSM club and decided to spend two weeks with a Dom to explore her adventures side. But the Dom who she’s matched with doesn’t want to be around her. But he’s dealing with his demons, and she awakens feelings he didn’t know he could feel anymore. When their time together is over, will they be there for each other or will the time they spent be their downfall?

I enjoyed this. Yeah, there was a lot of talk about sex. A Lot! But there was so much information about the BDSM scene, you must learn a little something from this. The character development was a little stale at first, but I fell in love with the main characters before I knew it. At first, I felt like it was going to be a quick read, but the plot was well developed and was easy to follow along.

I enjoyed how Trish was able to push her boundaries and explore what made her happy. Colin on the other hand, I felt like he didn’t try enough at first. I didn’t agree what he did to Trish in some parts, but I later forgave him.

The one thing that bothered me was when she heard about the BDSM lifestyle and she made her choice to commit, she was already in the mindset of being a sub. It was like she already somehow knew about that lifestyle. There wasn’t a part where she pondered choosing to be a Dom or a Sub. But the book was written well enough I’m able to overlook it.

Would I let my mom read this? No. A friend who reads what I read? Absolutely. It was a fun book. It flowed well, had great character and plot development. How could I not recommend this?

Adventurous Me by Deanndra Hall is an erotic romance novel that tells the story of Trish, a woman who has just been told by her husband of 30 years that she is predictable and boring. After this revelation, she meets Dave, a stranger who gives her a mysterious invitation to a BDSM club called Bliss. Trish accepts the invitation, hoping that it will lead her on an adventure and help her find her true self. What follows is a steamy and adventurous story of self-discovery, passion, and heartbreak.

One of the things that immediately drew me into Adventurous Me was the opening page. The book starts off with Trish throwing things at her husband's head in a fit of anger, and from there, I knew that this was going to be a passionate and emotional read. The writing is engaging and the characters are well-developed, making it easy for readers to get invested in their stories.

Trish is a relatable and likable character who is going through a major life change. Her husband's revelation has shattered her world, but she is determined to find herself again. When she meets Dave and is introduced to the world of BDSM, she is shocked but also intrigued. As she explores this new world, she discovers that she is a natural submissive and begins to find her confidence and self-worth.

Clint is the dom that Trish is paired with, and while he is initially cold and aloof towards her, they eventually develop a steamy and intense relationship. However, Clint has a dark past that he can't seem to move past, and this becomes a major obstacle in their relationship. As Trish falls for him, she must confront the possibility that they may not be able to be together.

The BDSM scenes in this book are very well-written and add an extra layer of depth to the story. They are not just there for shock value but are an integral part of Trish's journey of self-discovery. The author does a great job of portraying the BDSM lifestyle in a realistic and respectful manner, and the scenes are both erotic and emotional.

The only real criticism I have of Adventurous Me is that there were times when the plot was a bit hard to follow. The book jumps around in time and there are moments when I had to pause and figure out what was going on. However, this is a minor issue and does not detract from the overall quality of the book.

This book was a steamy and emotional read that will appeal to fans of erotic romance. Trish is a relatable and likable protagonist, and her journey of self-discovery is both erotic and emotional. The BDSM scenes are well-written and respectful, adding an extra layer of depth to the story. While there were some moments when the plot was a bit hard to follow, this is a minor issue and does not detract from the overall quality of the book. I highly recommend Adventurous Me to anyone looking for a passionate and adventurous read.

Unfortunately this book was just not for me. I found myself not really caring or liking the main character and ended up not finishing the book. The romance / spark wasn’t there for me.

I’m sad to admit this one wasn’t my cup of tea. I really wasn’t all that focused and connected on the story and the characters. It was steamy, for sure. But I didn’t feel much else from the story than that, sadly.

Sadly the narration was not my favorite and got bored listening and DNF’d.

No reviews left to not discourage other readers.

DNF at like 9%

I have a couple issues already with this book and know I’m not going to like it so I’ll just back out now. I went ahead and read some reviews to verify that it will not be fun for me so I feel confident in this decision.

This review is based off the first 35 minutes of the audiobook.

Story: 1 ⭐️
Steam: 1 🔥 (none yet but it’s coming and according to other reviews it’s a lot)

Ugh. I won’t get too deep with this so here is a list:

- This narrator is awful.
- I already don’t really like BDSM but I’m also super over the “I’ve never even heard of BDSM I’m just a sweet innocent little lady” tropes because they’re annoying.
- She’s been at this sex club for like 10 minutes and has already body shamed people and referred to another woman as “one the most homely women she’s ever seen”.
- Assumes that men that aren’t hitting on her must be gay even though she doesn’t believe she’s that attractive.

I’ve seen what I need to see. Thanks 👌🏻

Adventurous Me is an older woman/younger man romance, and I use the term romance loosely here. It's erotica for the most part, but there is some story. It also has the feel of a rebound relationship, especially since Trish has been married for 30 years.. However, none of that really bothered me. It's erotic romance, and while I would've complained about a lack of storyline, I still expected more erotica than story. What irritated me was the narration, and that's a big deal since I listened to the audiobook. This isn't my first time listening to Anneliese Rennie, and sometimes I like her performance, sometimes not. This one was a big fat not. Since this is erotic romance, a big part of the narration is gonna rely on the emotion the narrator puts into it for the romance part to ring true. This woman may as well have been reading an instruction manual for all the feels she put into this. I mean, there were parts of the story I didn't care for, but the narration is what sent it completely over the edge for me. I kept stopping and going back later, only the time between pausing and picking back up got longer and longer the further I got into the story. This one just was not for me.

To say I was intrigued is putting it mildly. I enjoy a good erotic story and add in some kink and I'm all in but this one had even me blushing at times. Trish has been told by her soon-to-be ex-husband of 30 years she is boring and while out drinking with her best friend she laments this to the bartender who tries to rid her of this notion and invites her to a club. Now she is intrigued. What happens next changes her life, in a meaningful way. Am I going to tell you, only that she meets Clint who has had some changes in his life and he does trust easy either and the chemistry these two put out is palpable but they both are running from it until they are literally tied together for two weeks. Great story, complicated story, and thought provoking story.

Goody I missed it. I mean I listened to the third audiobook. And it was awful. Well, at least to me. I barely finished it. Ugh!

Trish finds herself going into a divorce after 30 years married, realizing that she never allowed herself to be adventurous all her life.
After finding Dave, someone that might just help her start that path, she finds herself emerging into a world of BDSM.
I didn't know what to expect from this book, was my first time reading a subject so direct like this, I felt that the character's stories, were there just to fill the BDSM momentums and consequences to subsequently lead to explain the character psychological side.
Trish meets a Dom but she's extremely insecure and doesn't have much self-esteem, I wished at some moments, that couldn't have been so obvious, the same thing happened, in the end, everything was just so rushed and perfectly fold into a happy ending, the love story itself was good in my opinion, I could see the confidence developing and the couple bond.

I received this and as an audio galley to listen to for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Spectrum Audio for giving me access.

Boring. Tiresome. Predictable. First three words of the synopsis pretty much sums it up for me.

Was it extra steamy? Yes. Do women in their late 40's/50's deserve all the X-rated fun they want? Yes. But something was lacking for me...story or character development or both. I just wasn't left satisfied and then we took a time jump to the future which just threw me off more

•Character development- 1.5☆
• Story Plot- 2☆
• Side characters- 2.5☆
• Flow of the story- 3☆
• Overall - 2☆

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was written very well and gave me an insight into the dom world I wasn't even aware existed. Whilst I didn't think I was going to like the many character at the beginning who appeared weak she grew on me and I loved the story of her finding herself and becoming her own person.

This was not for me not because of the BDSM themes (this was my first time listening to a BDSM theme) although I'm still not sure if that is something for me. But the male main character was just mean and I can't see how she could forgive him this easy. Yes he was hurt but this was unforgivable in my eyes.
Also the female main character felt much younger then she should be, by her reactions and actions.
