I was hooked on this book from the minute I started it. Riley is going to help her Mimi back at the yarn shop, Knots and Tangles after being away for 10 years. Hayden is working at his family's hardware store. Will love bloom?

Both Hayden and Riley have had difficult times in their lives but thankfully they are surrounded by a wonderful support system. Mimi has her Bosom Buddies. This eccentric group meets together weekly and crochets or knits for a charity. Riley has the three musketeers who are there to support her.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

A story line that you may have seen a few times, but it never gets old! Riley escaped her small Arkansas town at the first given opportunity and hasn't looked back until now. With her elderly, yet young-spirited, grandmother Erma hurting herself during a softball game, Riley must return to Maple Falls to help her grandmother recover. She also wants to convince her 'Mimi' to consider selling her old, run-down, and rarely visited yarn store, Knots and Tangles, which is one of many stores in town that is falling into decay and disarray. Hayden Price, the town's golden boy who recently had to give up his major league baseball dreams due to an injury, was the captain of the softball team that Erma was on when she was injured and feels the need to repay her for the accident that occurred. This results in Hayden and Riley, two people that had secret crushes on each other all through high school, coming face-to-face yet again. Riley struggles to slow her grandmother down, in addition to facing her own past demons, feelings for Hayden, and keeping herself separate from Maple Falls so she can return to New York when this is all over.

I had such a great time reading this book! It was enjoyable from start to finish. The characters were all extremely well fleshed out and even if they were only mentioned a couple times I was still able to remember them and details about them. I really hope to see this series expand and continue, the ending drew together nicely, but I have so many questions and want to see where the characters all end up. Maple Falls is reminiscent of my own hometown and I felt oddly at home reading this. And Erma was a favourite of mine, reminding me of my own non-stop, 'I'm just a young thing' grandmother who loves to crochet. I hope to see Kathleen write more in this series, as I will eagerly be awaiting to see how this goes!

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute, wholesome whirlwind romance read. Here, artist Riley had left her small hometown of Maple Falls, Arkansas right after her graduation to live in New York City and pursue an art career. Although, after her grandma, aka Mimi, breaks a leg in the church softball game, Riley agrees to come home for the first time in nine years to manage the family yarn store until Mimi is back on her feet. Meanwhile, Hayden's been stuck in town working for his dad's hardware store after an injury ended his pro baseball career. He's in a rut but slowly discovering what he wants out of life, from working at the store, coaching a new church softball league in town, or fixing up a house in town. These two went to high school together but ran in different circles, and so they never talked, although there were definitely some unresolved and unrequited feelings back then. After Mimi plays matchmaker to get Riley to stay in town that continues to put Hayden in her granddaughter's orbit, and they catch feelings. This clean, wholesome small-town romance is told through dual perspectives mostly, but there's also a brief section or two told through Mimi's eyes. All in all, it's cute but not all that extraordinary. I liked it just fine, but that's about it. Also, several plot points or backstories that were mentioned in the book summary do not occur in the book at all, which is a little bit of a misnomer.

This book is a warm hug on a dark day.

Maple Falls is an adorable town being lost to time. Riley left 10 years ago never looking back as she strived to become an artist in New York City. When Riley gets called back by her Grandmother she has to confront what she has run away from.

Hooked on You is a tale of growth and letting go with a slice of charming romance. Curl up on your couch with a cup of tea and relax into it. We all deserve a visit to Maple Falls.

I enjoyed this book because it was light, humorous, and a quick read. Riley McAllister is a struggling artist living in New York. When her Mimi, Erna, calls to
tell Riley about her broken leg, she also begs for Riley to come help her at her yarn
shop. Riley is hesitant to move back to
the small town on Maple Hill in Arkansas but agrees to come help temporarily. Riley has her mind set on helping for two weeks
but ends up becoming attached to the people of this tiny town. Riley has her guard up because of a mother who
abandoned her during early childhood. This causes a strain on her new relationships. Can she open up and let herself be truly loved? Read to find out. Thanks to Net Galley for the advanced copy of this book.

This was a good book. The story was intriguing and the characters were fun. There were parts that I wish were a bit faster. I liked that the characters were full-fledged. The heroine's grandma was amazing. It was different having her point of view as well as the two main characters.

Girl leaves home, girl gets summoned back to home, girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love, girl faces past demons, girl doesn’t want to leave hometown anymore. While this story line has been done time and time again, Hooked on You by Kathleen Fuller brings new humour and level of fun to it. It was a quick and easy read that had me laughing throughout the story.
When Riley’s grandmother Erma suffers an injury, she summons Riley home from New York to help run her knitting shop. Grandma Erma is reason enough to pick up a copy on may 11th 2021!

HOOKED ON YOU by KATHLEEN FULLER is a most enjoyable romance novel that takes place in the small town of Maple Falls.
Different reasons have brought Hayden Price and Riley McAllister back to the place where they attended high school,
Riley is a loner and has always felt out of place, afraid that people will find out about her unhappy childhood. She went to live with her grandmother, Mimi, when she was thirteen and the two are very close. When Mimi breaks her leg, Riley goes to look after her and help run her yarn shop, intending to go back to New York, where she has been a struggling artist for the past nine years, as soon as possible. She has a poor self image.
Hayden is good looking, athletic and charming, but he also has secrets,They are both very good at keeping their emotions in check until things happen that shake them into facing the present and letting go of the past.
I love the friendliness of Mimi's Bosom Buddies and the three young women who befriend Riley.
Will Riley every feel that Maple Falls is home or will she rush back to her life in the big city?
It is a most enjoyable read with quite a bit of depth and one I can recommend to anyone who enjoys a good romantic novel.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

Riley is back in her hometown, having never returned before in the ten years since she left for New York.
Hayden has been back in town for a while, working at his family's hardware store.
They weren't friends in highschool, but they become closer now, but will they have a chance together when she can't wait to leave town again and all he wants to do is stay and improve the town?

Full of great characters, especially Mimi!

I hope this is a series and we get stories of Riley's new friends too.
