Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Finally, we have Coll's story. I really enjoyed reading Coll and Persephone's story. Coll is a Scottish Viscount who needs to marry quickly. Persephone is an actress hiding from someone who wishes her harm due to her inheritance. The two strike up a mutually beneficial friendship. Can Coll save Persephone? Will these two realize they've met their match? Definitely a winner.
Thank you Suzanne Enoch, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

I think this will be the last Enoch book I read because I'm just not a fan of her writing. I understand why other people like her, but for me her stories just move too slowly and go off topic a lot.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot (Wild Wicked Highlanders #3). By Suzanne Enoch. 2021. St. Martin’s Press. (ARC eBook).

I have really enjoyed this series of burly highlander brothers looking for wives in London. Coll, Viscount Glendarril and oldest MacTaggert brother, finds himself backstage of a theater in an attempt to escape his estranged mother’s matchmaking schemes. There he meets an enchanting actress, Persephone Jones, and learns that there are threats being made against her. With the future prosperity of his home, Aldriss Park, dependent on him finding a “suitable” wife before his engaged sister Eloise weds, Coll is now more determined to have Persephone safe and as his bride, commoner or not; than fulfilling his mother’s wishes.

Coll is gruff, but also intelligent and charming when he so desires. And Persephone holds her own well as the two thwart danger and investigate the threat. Only thing missing was an epilogue and I think the ending would have benefited from that. As with the other two books in the series, Hit Me With Your Best Scot is a fun title and has a great cover.

In this final installment of Suzanne Enoch’s fabulous, Wild Wicked Highlanders series the brother most likely to cause a riot in Mayfair, Coll MacTaggert is running out of time in his reluctant search for a bride and meeting a woman that finally sparks his interest, but who is completely unsuitable for the job doesn’t stop the sparks from flying or Coll’s determination to make her his.
Star of the stage, Persephone Jones has enough on her plate without a sexy, arrogant Scot charging into her life. But when one is about to put on a cursed play and “accidents” seem to follow her wherever she goes, perhaps having a handsome bodyguard around isn’t such a bad thing after all.
In exchange, for lessons in gentlemanly behavior to woo a proper bride, Coll takes on the roll of Persephone’s protector but as passions boil over, danger ensues and deeper feelings become engaged, it soon becomes clear to both of them that they have found their perfect match.
Rich with humor, intrigue, wit and passion, this final book in the series is definitely one worth waiting for!

What a fitting end to this family's story. I loved Coll and Persephone together, they had great chemistry together and it was great to watch their story unfold. I would have loved to see an epilogue since this was the end of the series.

And we have saved the best Scot until last. He who fights the most, falls the hardest. Perhaps??

Coll MacTaggart, Viscount Glendarill, has wife trouble. He doesn’t want a wife, but his English mother is determined to see he is married before his younger sister. He has beaten off interest from many debutantes much to his mother’s frustration. He then declares that he will marry Mrs Persephone Jones. Yes, THE Persephone Jones, actress. The current toast of London theatre. And also, apparently, a widow. This drives his mother in despair, or an investigation of this actress’s character.

Persephone Jones just wants to act. She doesn’t want to marry. She wants to be left alone. Then Coll comes backstage at the theatre and she digs her heels in further. Then accidents start to happen. Coll becomes concerned and takes on the role of her protector. The pair make a deal. Persephone will help him gentle his manners and understand how the ton operates so he can speak to the unmarried women without scaring them, and gain their interest for marriage. He can then have the English wife he needs to fulfil his mother’s deal with his father.

Coll is a little surprised that Persephone understands so much about the ton, and she eventually tells him her secret. She is a member of the ton, but circumstances meant she had to disappear. This is the catalyst for the accidents that befall her. Coll is determined to find the person trying to kill her, the woman who will eventually become his wife.

While I could wax lyrical about the story, I really don’t want to give too much away. It is enough to say that Coll is able to hunt down the person or persons who are involved with in trying to harm Persephone. And that this couple are together at the end. Coll’s mother is happy to have all three of her brawny half-Scottish sons married to English women.

What I did like was that we also see both parents reunited. Okay so they still have some issues to sort out, but you can see the positive direction of their relationship. This adds to the whole family together tone. And the mostly peaceful nature of the family.

And just putting it out there, I really do not think the sister should marry the guy she believes she loves. Note I said believes. There could be another story there!

A thoroughly enjoyable series!

I adored the mystery and fun of this book especially because we’ve been waiting so long for Coll’s book. I loved the brothers interactions because for some reason, sibling books are my thing. I thought it dragged a bit in the middle and was kind of hard to get through. That being said- still a great read.

I received an ARC of this book from St. Martin Press via Netgalley in exchange for my review. Hit Me With Your Best Scot was a fun romance! It is part of a series, which I have not read, but I now plan to read all the books! Coll MacTaggert, aka the Viscount Glendarril, is in a tough position. His mother has given him the "task" of marrying within the month or give up his inheritance. Persephone Jones is an actress who is acting on more than the stage-she is playing a character in real life in order to hide who she really is-or used to be. When Persephone and Coll meet they find that their friendship can be advantageous to both of them if they play their cards right, but when Persephone finds herself in grave danger, will their friendship turn to love? This book had great banter and a friends-to-lovers plot that was hard to resist!

A highlander who is looking for a bride and an actress who is hiding because someone is willing to kill for her inheritance, what an odd couple right?

But Coll checks all the list of being a perfect knight without an armor but with a kilt. And Persephone whose brilliance in acting makes everyone jealous.

I enjoy how modern Persephone thinks and how strong but at the same time, clever Coll is.

Definitely a great story again from Miss Suzanne Enoch! 👏

Thank you St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the ARC!

Suzanne Enoch has done it again. Sweeping me straight to Scotland and falling in love the rogue with the brogue is everything I could ask for in a novel. I adore Scottish romance and this wonderful author delivers every time. She effortlessly has me in love just as much as the characters and I eagerly devour each page until I’m sadly left with none left to turn. Hit Me With Your Best Scot was exactly that , one of the best Scottish romances I’ve read in quite sometime. I eagerly await the next novel by this talented writer.

I appreciate the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and unbiased review.

When forced to marry an Englishwoman, the sexy Highlander Coll is in London looking for one when he meets an unexpected woman - an actress. Though she's not the best choice but something draws him to her - which puts her in danger from her past.

This is what you expect from Suzanne Enoch - sexy, emotional historical romance with wonderful characters and the end of a great series.

I'd only read the first book in this series before picking this one up and I loved going back to this family. I definitely need to pick up book two soon. I just really enjoy this family and getting to see what the brothers get into while trying to find wives.

I loved Coll so much!! He's this big surly guy that doesn't really want to find a wife, especially not one that his mom pick for him, but he seems to be running out of time and options. This is when he comes across the actress, Persephone Jones. I loved the way their relationship starts, I was also very much into the mystery aspect of this story. It definitely provided an added urgency to the reading experience. I not only wanted to see them get their HEA, but I also wanted to make sure they got there safely. Persephone is such a fun character, she's strong and independent and she very much knows who she is and doesn't need anything from Coll. I loved them so much!!

This was the perfect conclusion to this series. I love historical romances set in Scotland when I need a change of pace from the trials and tribulations of the Ton! This was compulsively readable. The characters were great. This is one that I really wished was longer.

I love reading about highlanders. I find their brash and abrasive but totally honest manner appealing. I enjoyed this one. Coll and Persephone made for an interesting couple. Persephone was not your typical woman back in these days. Persephone was smart and felt that she did not marry any man to fulfill some sort of station in her life. I really found this to a good read. 4 solid stars.

This is the third book of a trilogy set in Victorian England. It can be read as a stand alone, although there are many interactions with previous book characters. Our H, Coll MacTaggert, a Scots viscount is in London looking for a bride. Due to an agreement signed by his estranged parents many years ago Coll and his two brothers must each marry an English woman prior to their sister's wedding in four weeks! The brothers have found love and brides, so Coll is under much stress and matchmaking by his mother. He doesn't want to marry, let alone a pampered English flower! However he encounters an actress at the theater who captures his heart! When he saves her on more than one occasion their feelings develop. Our h, Mrs. Persephone Jones, a famous English actress has many secrets in her background, which greatly add to the story. She is a strong and independent person, but still very feminine which is always a bonus.
The character development is very well done and you care what happens to these people, the main players as well as the sub characters. The world development is spot on, you understand the negative connotations of associating with "actresses" in Victorian England. This is also an attempted murder mystery with lots of action and drama; and enough twists to keep you guessing until the end! The author is very good at adding subtle details which greatly add to the story, and she doesn't forget to maintain them through out the telling! (Hades, the cat, the numerous wigs and changing clothes in the carriage to hide her identity, hiring old stage people etc.) The only fault I found was in not having an epilogue, so we could see what the future held for all of the MacTaggerts. I highly recommend this book, and I will be reading the others in the series.
I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley. I voluntarily read the book and the review is mine alone.

I really enjoyed this book of the series, my favorite one by far, although each is a stand alone novel. The banter between Coll and Persie was very entertaining, I loved that it was set in a theater and felt that the author really captured the life of theater folk in this time frame. Coll at times was a bit too blunt which made him appear almost ignorant in a way of the English but I realize the author was trying to show the differences between his country life and her city life. the other characters in this story were very well written as well, you felt as if you got to know them a little and they factored in and meant something to the story line. Overall, very well written, strong story line and captures your interest.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for a review.

Coll is determined that he will find his own wife and thanks to his mother's edict he and his two brothers must do that before before his youngest sister weds. Coll is the only one left to merry/get engaged. That is where Persephone Jones comes in. I just love her name! She's an actress and has no interest in getting married.

Yet when he life in threatened Coll does what highlanders do best, protect what is theirs. Make no mistake she is his even of she doesn't want to be. I really enjoyed Coll, I know a lot of others didn't but there was something about him for me. I love that he domineering with Persephone as many heroes of tis time period would.

This was a quick read but one that I enjoyed. This is certainly my favorite book if the series.

Finally, finally, finally, we get Coll's story. Our Wild Wicked Highlanders series sort of went from youngest to oldest but finally, we get out obstinate, gruff, mountain of a Scot's story. Suzanne Enoch is always a win for me. Hit Me With Your Best Scot may not be my most favorite because, well, there's quite a backlog, but I did enjoy it immensely.

Coll is the last of the MacTaggert brothers to get married. His mother doesn't want him to fail in his mission to get wed before his sister, thus losing all the funding for their, well, everything. So, as moms are wont to do, she starts setting him up on... sort-of dates with eligible young ladies. In an effort to escape his mother's latest snare, Coll stumbles into the world of the theatre and thus into the orbit of the much sought-after famous actress, Mrs. Persephone Jones. Persephone Jones is famous, wealthy, independent, and wonderfully adept at her craft. Coll stumbles into being her hero when a gentleman caller gets a little too handsy. As the rumors spread, Coll finds them just the right tonic to keep his mother out of his business while he searches for Ms. Right. The problem is the undeniable connection he has with the beautiful Persephone and then the nasty business that someone seems to be out to kill her.

Persephone is a strong, independent character and I really liked her attitude towards life. She was sly and crafty, knew men were looking for basically one thing and used it against them- and I loved every second of it. I quite enjoyed the fact that both she and Coll recognized their mutual attraction and went about things like adults. No games, no annoying back and forth. What can I say? I'm a lover of simplicity. While Coll and Persephone's physical relationship was fairly... well... established, their feelings were more of a slow burn, which I rather liked. The mystery and discoveries were fun and entertaining. I do feel the plot was a bit protracted but this was the last in the series and I could understand the author wanted to hit all the marks, as it were.

As I said above, Suzanne Enoch is always a win for me. Hit Me With Your Best Scot was thoroughly entertaining. I definitely recommend the series for all those historical romance lovers out there.
