This was a quick, fun read that had a bit of mystery, some action, and of course romance.
Col is a huge highlander, with no desire to marry except that his mother has forced his hand. If he doesn't marry within the month, he loses all his funding that he depends on to help the people under his care. TO escape one of her many match making attempts, Col finds himself in back of a theater where he meets Persephone. She has it all, beauty, sass and secrets. When her life is in danger, Col comes to her rescue. For he enjoys his time with Persephone much more than looking for a lady to marry.
Great characters, fun banter and a truly enjoyable series.

Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, is supposed to be finding a wife because his mother declared it so and is dangly funding for his Scottish home over his head. Coll is a hot headed and sexy chunk of impetuousness that flees from his mother's latest attempt to play matchmaker. Running backstage at the theater, Coll finds temptation in the form of an actress in a pair of britches. Persephone Jones has made a name for herself by being a good actress with her share of admirers but she carries a secret that someone seems to be willing to kill her for. A mutually beneficial arrangement later, Coll is protecting Persie from danger and Persie is training Coll to find a wife. Sexy and sweet Coll will make the hardest of hearts swoon and Persie is an heroine that is unique and memorable. Not your typical historical romance, Coll and Persie's story is steamy and sweet with a touch of intrigue that ends way too soon. The book is the perfect HEA in the sexy MacTaggert Brothers trilogy. Hit Me With Your Best Scot by Suzanne Enoch was a fun and interesting roller coaster ride. There was plenty of action to keep me interested. I also enjoyed the characters immensely. There is nothing like starting a book with the main character, Coll teaching his future brother-in-law a lesson by a sharp punch to the nose in a theater. (He really did deserve it.) Then Coll escapes his match making mother by hiding in the backstage of the theater where he finds an interesting actress, Mrs. Persephone Jones (Persie). They have a great beginning and he becomes her protector. Persie is a strong and intelligent character who gives as good as she gets.
Coll is an interesting character. He presents himself as a caricature of the strong, wild, not too intelligent Scot. Persie is able to see beyond this to find the "real" Coll.
If you like historical romances with strong characters, you will love this book!

This was such a fun story to read, I absolutely loved it!! Coll is the type of Highlander hero I adore, big, brawny and says it as it is! Persephone is also my type of heroine, independent, smart and strong minded.

Persephone is an actress with a secret and when it becomes clear that someone is trying to kill her, Coll comes to her rescue. He should be busy looking for a lady to marry but once he meets Persephone, plans change. Not only is there danger and suspense in the story, there is also humour and heated passions. I'm still giggling at Gavin playing the part of a maid:) Well written with wonderful characters!!

Another awesome book by Suzanne Enoch. I love this series and I highly recommend it. All the characters are humorous and wicked Highlanders.

This was my favorite of, The Wild Wicked Highlanders, series. I enjoyed Macbeth while studying it in school so it was fun to remember some of the parts while reading this book. That and I was happy how their story ends. Coll is the most stubborn of all his brothers. So to see him fall in love with a joy.

Even though I hadn't read the first two books in this series, I had no problems at all following this one. There is enough backstory to put you up to date but not so much that it is cumbersome.

This was a great, quick reading romance that had a good bit of mystery and was quite sexy too!

I just want to know one thing -I keep asking this, but no one answers me---just when am I going to get my own kilted hero???

I have never read anything by this author, but based on my experience with this book, I will be buying the two previous ones!

This is the third entry to Suzanne Enoch's Wild Wicked Highlanders series. The books have had a family, tight and caring with three brothers. The English mother wants her sons to marry Engish Ladies. The sons have bristled at being fixed up and worked to find their own women as men do.

Coll is a Huge, Highlander set in his ways. He is determined to not have his mother set him up, so he is off to find his own Engish Woman. He comes across many, but the minute he opens his mouth to speak, they either don't understand him or they are frightened by how big he is.

It is the chance situation where Coll rescues Persephone Jones causing all the fates to line up. He sees her as just the right person to help him find his English lass. She is an actress and smart. She can teach him how to speak and move so as not to scare others.

Persephone has her own reasons for needing a big Scot like Coll. She has a past she has been hiding for years now and wishes to keep herself safe.

These two make a fun match and with all the mystery, banter, Highlander brothers, all turns out well in the end.

When Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril realizes that he must marry an Englishwoman within the next few weeks, he knows he’s in for a huge task. He doesn’t want any of the simpering, wimpy, quiet women his mother’s been throwing at him. When she doubles down at the performance of Romeo and Juliet, he makes his escape again. Ending up backstage, he meets Mrs. Persephone Jones, the famous actress. When he ends up stepping in between her and her latest protector when the protector doesn’t get the one thing he’s been trying for with Persephone, Coll comes up with a wonderful idea. He tells his mother that he’s found his mate, none other than Mrs. Jones herself.
When Persephone finds out what Coll’s done, she gets angry. She’s been keeping a secret for many years now and she doesn’t need the Viscount Glendarril messing it up. She goes along with his plan, only to help him out by teaching him about the women of the ton and how he should approach him. Even though a part of her wishes for more with him, she recognizes that’s impossible.
When “accidents” start happening around Persephone, Coll recognizes a threat. Vowing to protect her, he sets about finding out who wants her dead. When her secret is revealed, the entire ton is shocked. All except for the one person who knew who she really was and needed her out of the way permanently.
This was the first book in this series that I read. I didn’t even know it was part of a series until I started writing the review, so you know that it can be read out of order. This book is so good though that I want to go back and start the series from the beginning. I want to know more about the other characters that are mentioned, and with great writing, interesting characters, and a witty fast paced story, you need to read them as well.

I love this series and this author! I love this book! All of the characters can stand in their own but stand together without losing themselves. I can't wait to read more by Kerrigan Byrne.

This is the 4th book of a series, and even though I have not-yet-read the others, I didn’t feel lost in the plot. I won’t rehash the plot, as that is able to be found elsewhere. The writing flowed well, and even though I had to put the book down for a while (life in 2020!), I easily got back into the story. The who done it portion of the story kept me wondering, though there were some things that, once we found out who was guilty, left me wondering if there was something I missed earlier in the story or just that it would have been nice to have it wrapped up a little more. I would recommend this book.

Rough and rowdy Scotsman Lord has to wed in twenty eight days or lose his inheritance.
From the beginning this story referred to events in the previous books of the series and I could not keep up with or get settled in to really figure out what was happening. A foul mouthed hot tempered Scotsman just wasn't flattering.

I gave it a try.

Better than average historical romance. Good characters who worked well together. Probably best to have read the others in the series.

This book is one of a series, but does work as a standalone.

I've really enjoyed the books about the MacTaggert brothers and their quest to find proper English brides before their little sister weds.

This was a good romance even if it was a bit unorthodox for the times (he's a Scottish Laird and she is an actress) with a little mystery thrown into the mix. I was unable to solve the mystery before them.

I was hooked, trying to figure out how the main characters would end up together.

I'll definitely look for more books by Suzanne Enoch in the future.

In spite of the terribly corny title, I enjoyed this book. The writing was witty and I had no trouble following the Scots' pronunciations as I sometimes do with other authors. The only weak spot was when the 'villain' of the plot was finally revealed. There seemed to be no motivation for the attempts on the heroine's life except revenge for trivial reasons.

What is the best way to irritate a mother determined to see you wed? Tell her you plan to marry the least appropriate woman in London. That is Coll’s plan when he announces his intentions towards Persephone, a well known actress. However the more time he spends with Persie the more he thinks he may have found the one woman he could want.

A solid ending to a fun trilogy with two headstrong and independently minded characters finding the one who challenges them and changes their world. Their feelings were rushed in the beginning but the more time they spent together after their initial attraction developed their relationship. The intrigue in Persephone’s life added interest without overshadowing the rest of the plot. However the HEA came about a little too easily for me considering how much stood in their way and I found some of the resolution difficult to buy.

I feel like I say this a lot, but this was another decent historical romance that just didn’t hit for me.

I have heard great things about this series and author, so I was expecting...more? With the disclaimer that I still really enjoyed reading the book, I found it very hard to see past the archetypal hero and the somewhat implausible plot. I mean, we get it, the Scottsmen are down to earth brutes and all the English are snotty weaklings...that isn't actually character development. Add in timelines that don't work and a HEA that seems to require everyone to suddenly change everything about their fundamental selves and well...even by standards of romantic suspension of disbelief, this was a miss.

Fans of the series may feel differently, but as a standalone, there are better highland romances out there.

A lot of this book kept referring back to a scene that I did not find in my copy of the book [I went back and doublechecked], and that if it did I would have found unbelievable given the characters’ traits outlined by the author. There was a bunch of ranting and fighting that was put in to apparently show the warlike and irrational nature of Scotsmen that likewise rang false and affectatious. There were too many murder attempts and not enough rational support for how they were effected, nor the rapidity with which they were committed with no one noticing a miscreant. There are more effective stories out there. I’d give this one a miss.

Such a fun series and great characters. I didnt want to put it down. What a joy to read . These men are super sexy.

Coll is a Highlander who prefers using fists versus words to solve problems. His biggest problem though is getting married to meet the terms of his mother's demands and save his Scottish lands. When his mother attempts another matchmaking attempt at the theater, he flees and ends up backstage where he meets and is immediately attracted to the lead actress, Persephone.

Love this book and the romance. I love that Coll tells his mom he's marrying Persie to get her off his back for a while and the mystery surrounding who's trying to hurt Persie kept me intrigued the whole time. Interestingly enough, I have read the first book in the series and not the second and I'm glad for it as I think I would have already figured out who Persie really was had I already read it. I plan to go back and catch up with the second book next.
