3 stars. Had to get my other old old historical romance pocketbooks out for this post. 😂 Felt right. Though really what’s with the titles of historical romance books playing with the titles of popular songs? I like the play with the words, I do. But they’re being done by so many authors now. Meh.

Anyway, I know I read the 2nd book of this trilogy, which ends with this book.

And it’s ok. Fun, light, nothing to get worked up about, a little danger, a little drama, a modern woman (for the setting) and a hardheaded lord.

Love Persephone’s name. A name she chose herself. Interesting character. She’s a nice twist to the formula and kept me reading the book. I’ve started on a couple of books of the same genre this year, only to give up after a few chapters. Persephone kept me curious about her and her relationship with the Earl.

I love highlanders in kilts speaking with a brogue so I was excited to receive this ARC. I had never read anything by this author before and I realized this was book 3 in this trilogy. Since I wanted to be able to evaluate the story to the best of my abilities, I did read books 1 & 2 prior to reading this one. I enjoyed book 1 and loved book 2.

This story was a bit different from the first two books, which was good. Although the premise remained the same, that all three brothers had to marry English ladies as a result of an agreement between their parents, Coll's story went along a different path to find his HEA with Persie.

Coll was a favorite character in the first books so I looked forward to reading his story. The giant mountain of a Scotsman needed a bride who was not afraid of him or afraid to stand up to him. He also was still full of resentment against his parents, particularly his mother, for putting him in the position to have to marry with little say in the matter.

Persie was a successful, self-made woman who ran away from her past. She is intelligent and independent, not to mention a famous actress. They did become intimate a little quick for my taste in a romance, but neither was looking for forever at that time in the story and it did help to move the plot along. When its discovered that Persie may be in danger, Coll became the protective highlander us fans dream of, but he never strong armed her or made decisions for her, and still respected her independence. I did foresee Percie's true society standing early in the book as the only way the could end up together, and I was fine with that. I thought her "coming out" near the end was spectacular.

The villain was a little lackluster, and it took almost to the very end of the book to find out who it was. And then, no one really knew much about the person. So we never really got an explanation of why this person acted so horribly. Money can make people do horrible things, but a better explanation would've been welcome. I also wish there was a bit more between Coll's parents at the end. Some things were resolved, and they both admitted they made mistakes. But it was also very obvious they still cared about each other. After seeing each other for the first time in 17 years I wanted to see a little more from them. All three books led the reader to believe that the brothers would be spending time in both London and the Highlands in the future, which was exactly what their mother wanted and something her husband would not give her.

This was a great finish to this trilogy full of sexy Highlanders, strong women, kilts, true love, suspense, humor, and a stuffed deer, and one I highly recommend to any historical romance fan.

Third in the Highlander series, Coll has to get married so he and his family don’t lose everything. Enter Persephone. The attraction is immediate and the live develops. Throw in a mystery and the other MacTaggert brothers and you have a good story with a HEA.

It was really well written and just drew in you into these characters lives. I look forward to seeing what’s next from this author.

Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, isn't going to let anyone, even his mother, force him into a marriage without a fight. The marriage agreement made between his parents stipulated that the money his mother, Lady Aldriss, brought to the marriage would only fund Lord Aldriss' Scottish estate, Aldriss Park, if all three of her sons married English women before their only sister weds. Lady Aldriss left Scotland with her baby daughter seventeen years before, and none of her sons had seen or heard from her since. But now, all three men are in London to find brides before Eloise, their sister, weds in just a few weeks. Coll is the last man standing as brother Niall is already married, and Aden will be married in a week.

Angry that his mother has set him up, once again, with not one but two simpering Sassenach lassies in her box at the Saint Genesius Theatre, Coll storms out of the box and is instantly mesmerized by the lead actress playing Rosalind in As You Like It. She, it seems, has a huge following of adoring male fans. Mrs. Persephone Jones isn't impressed by the giant Scotsman until he dispatches an overbearing lord who makes some threatening comments to her.

Coll is sure that if he's going to marry any Sassenach, it should be someone like Persephone who clearly isn't interested in marrying him. She admits that the Mrs. part of her name is used because a widow is allowed to live on her own. And be an actress. It's difficult for Coll to wrap his head around an independent woman like Persephone, but his heart keeps telling him that even though she's a mere actress, and he will be an earl some day, that this is the woman for him.

Persephone tries to deny her attraction to Coll, but gives up when she hires him as her protector after a series of "accidents" befall her. The secret she is hiding could be the reason that she is being targeted by whoever is responsible for the potentially deadly incidents. But who could be trying to kill Persephone? And why? She's had eight years of peace while working at Saint Genesius with no indication that anyone recognizes her.

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SCOT is a delightfully entertaining read. It's a bit of a mystery, but it's all romance as Coll and Persephone angle their ways through a mutual attraction that they can no longer deny. Coll's family is exasperated with him as he threatens to marry an actress, even though that very actress has flatly said no. There is plenty of humor as Coll's physical presence clearly intimidates most of the men who are in love with Persephone, as well as some of the potential brides his mother produces for him.

The final book in The Wild Wicked Highlanders series, HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SCOT is a fun, and very romantic, tale.

Coll and Persephone's journey will filled with intrigue, witty banter, steam, and peril. Once again, our story begins with Countess Aldriss (Coll's mother) surprising Coll at a play with potential wives. Only this time, there are two...not one. Rather than make a scene, Coll stalks off and winds up backstage. This is where is runs into a snarky beautiful woman that doesn't appear to be scared of him. Mrs. Persephone Jones!

Persephone is the toast of the theater. Every role she plays is a hit. However, her fans often have a hard time separating who the real person is vice the character....not to mention the titled aristocratic men that want to be her protector...for something in return of course.

The first time these two meet the chemistry sparks and fist fly (of course, it's Coll). Coll throws out a man getting too handsy and pushy with Persephone...and that starts their course. What begins as a more business arrangement between two independent people, slowly grows into something more. But even if there is more, how can a commoner marry a man with a title.

This story has twists, turns, mystery, murder attempts, fists, brawny brothers, steam, and eventually a HEA. I enjoyed the heck out of Coll and Persephone's story and I do hope we get more. I want Lady Aldriss and Lord Aldriss to find their way back to each other... pleeeaasssee!! I definitely recommend this book/series and I will continue to read if there are more books!

While this book had a certain amount of depth, I'm sorry to say that it didn't grab me like I had hoped.

Coll was an interesting mix of sheer physical strength and intelligence. Most people got sidetracked by his size not seeing how smart he was. But Persephone Jones does see it even more so over time. Persephone is hiding in plain sight and is adored by many. She had quite the interesting routine that she used to hide her identity when she left the theater to go home.

The person trying to kill her wasn't anyone that I had thought; which was good. Although I had a question or two about that. There is a good H.E.A. that I did like.

By the time you get to the end of a series, you think you know what to expect from a book, but this story of Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, and Persephone Jones brought some interesting changes to the formula author Suzanne Enoch had used with the other MacTaggert brothers in The Wild Wicked Highlanders trilogy. 

As actress Persephone begins production of The Scottish Play, Coll becomes her protector in every sense of the word. Fortunately, neither is particularly interested in pretending that their chemistry doesn't exist. The only question is what to do with it. An actress isn't the appropriate wife for a Viscount, but he has to marry within the month or risk losing the financial support his estate needs.

As they navigate their feelings, the threat to her life, and his obligation to his family, the author takes us on a wonderful journey to a surprise Happily Ever After.

What a truly good historical romance. Ms. Enoch has written a solid romance that has a well-developed cast of characters. Enjoyed

This is the third book in the MacTaggart series. Niall, Aden and Coll were raised in Scotland by their father. Their English mother is determined to find them English brides. They must wed before their sister’s wedding. Aden and Niall find their own brides. ( It’s Getting Scot in Here and Scot Under the cCovers.) Coll has 2 weeks to find a bride. He is a giant of a Scotsman—- and his antics are amusing. The three brothers are loyal to each other, as well as brawny and brave.

Lady Aldriss keeps parading young women before Coll and drags him to balls. But he is not interested. The latest attempt is at the theater — he escapes and finds himself back stage while Persephone Jones is performing. She intrigues him.

Coll decides to tell his mother he has found his bride —- an actress! As he spends more time with “Persie”, they develop feelings for each other. She has secrets and he saves her life several times. Coll is determined to keep her safe.

I enjoyed this book for the characters, plot, humor and romance. Susan Enoch is one of my favorite authors and her books give me great pleasure to read. I received an ARC from NetGalley For my honest opinion — buy the book! You won’t be disappointed!

Hit Me With Your Best Scot, by Suzanne Enoch, will be available in booksellers on 2-9-2021. We've come to the end of The Wild Wicked Highlanders trilogy. Ms Enoch saved the best brother, to me, for last. Coll is a big brawny Scott. He's headstrong and use to being in charge. He meets an actress and she leads him a complicated chase. I give him credit for sticking to his guns. He knows what he wants and damn the fallout. Our heroine is not what she seems and won't get in Colls way, he has to marry. I've been waiting for Colls story and it didn't disappoint. If you remember, Coll is the one who ran out of the house naked with a big sword (giggle) in a previous story. What an enjoyable read.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot is one of my favorite romances of the year. The characters were wonderfully entertaining, the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and the mystery within this story made me stay up to finish this wonderful tale. This author knows the ingredients to a great read, and she stirs everything together to make me want to come back for more and more. I received an advanced reader's copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This series was a suspenseful and intriguing with a steamy side of hottness. The way the prior characters were woven in made it easy to continue the story line.

This book is an enjoyable, witty read. Coll and Persephone make a great couple, which definitely keeps his mother and London on their toes. Whether running into or out of trouble, there's rarely a dull moment.

It was evident from the start that this book is part of a series. It is a fun read without reading the other books, but I could tell that I was missing jokes and running themes. I would have liked this book even better if I had read the other two books first, especially seeing as I missed the scene where Coll ran down a street naked, swinging a claymore around.

Coll is an interesting character as he is gleefully violent, punching anyone that he feels deserves it. He is also a conscientious giant who does not push for more than women wish to give. That doesn't stop him from playing stupid just to terrify the London wallflowers that annoy him. I loved how protective he is of Persephone without being too overbearing.

Persephone can definitely hold her own against Coll, and their banter keeps the book lively. Finding her own way in the world requires strength, but she is not too proud to accept help when she knows that she needs it. She is a chameleon who can blend in or stand out as she chooses. She is a delightful heroine.

The plot is fast-paced, and even with the danger, it remains light-hearted. The MacTaggert brothers know how to steal the scene, whether driving their mother to distraction, wooing their ladies, or horrifying the Ton.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am planning on looking for the first two in the series. I look forward to reading more books by Suzanne Enoch.

Suzanne Enoch knows how to write a Scottish hero. I love her books and this was no exception. Every time I read, one of her books, I know it will be an enjoyable read.

How great is this title anyway? The author really hit the mark with this book and series as a whole. I just love reading this author and she is quickly becoming a go-to favorite of mine!

Hit Me With Your Best Scot is wonderfully unique and just a refreshing, fun story. The characters are developed with deeply crafted detail and are so likable you really want the story to just keep going and going. Even though we have an awesome outcome, I want to read more!

This story is engaging and packed with energy that makes it hard to put it down. With splashes of romance, suspense, mystery, twists of all types, and in-depth detail, you find yourself with a rare and unique treat of a book.

Written with a nod towards old English/Gaelic language from Coll who is fresh from the Highlands, Enoch sets the stage with the right atmosphere for this story. Looking for a bride is not an easy task until he finds just the right person to help him land a Lady; or so he thinks.

Their connection is perfect and I love that they are intelligent and not what you expect. This is such a delightful book! I feel like I am gushing, I loved it so!

Definitely start from book one to get the full effect on this clan! It is worth every minute!
