Somehow I always go back to my comfort read and that’s historical romance. And one of the authors that I admired over the years is Suzanne Enoch. Whether I read her books in Romanian or lately in English exclusively, I’m always losing myself in the world of tartan wearing highlanders and the women that bring them on their knees.
I loved Hit me with your best Scot. A match made perfectly from the beginning to the last page through the amazing banter and situations that will bring both the flaws of the characters and those strong feelings and emotions that will always win no matter what happens around them.
A well deserved happily ever after.
If you’re looking for a great romance, look no further as this is a must-read novel.

Author Suzanne Enoch creates a cast of very strong men and women in the Wild Wicked Highlanders trilogy. Without exception she gives her feisty female characters a brain, body, looks and wealth. It was such a joy to see these women lead the Mactaggert men on a wild goose chase.

Coll Mactaggert makes me laugh. I know this isn’t something he would want but his “bull in the china shop” personality is refreshing. Don’t get me wrong he is not clumsy as much as big, brawny, and thinking with his hand’s kind of man. Despite his appearance, he is kind as well as honorable and those characteristics lead him into all kinds of situations and mischief.

Persephone Jones in an enigma and Coll is intrigued with the woman. He can’t help but want to figure out the mystery she has surrounding her. How the author unfolds this mystery to Coll is well executed. I like the small amounts of information that unfold about her and how Coll deals with it. Persephone’s mind and how she uses it to enlist Coll’s help from danger made me smile. And let’s not forget the heat between them. The pages burnup with it.

Getting back to Coll… you can’t help but love him, he is a solid kind of no-nonsense man that you know where you stand with always. His character doesn’t play games. He just puts it out there for all to know.

The reader will want to read this book in one sitting. It is entertaining and a fulfilling read.

Another winner in the “Wild Wicked Highlander” series by Suzanne Enoch! Coll and Persephone are a wonderful couple. Brought together by threats to her life, they set off instant and unexpected sparks. Its so fun to read a romance between two smart, honest, forthright people whose relationship starts with friendship (and chivalry) and develops into love.

I’m a sucker for a Scottish Highlander romance, but this was a little different since it took place in London instead of Scotland. Three brothers are tasked with marrying English women or lose their English mother’s funding of their home, Aldriss Park. Coll’s two younger brothers have fulfilled their part of the bargain and fortunately for them fell in love (books one and two of the series) in the process. But Coll can’t find a woman and doesn’t want to. Bending to his mother’s will after she left them seventeen years back doesn’t sit well with him. I wasn’t a big fan of his mother at first, but reading on I came to like her more, and we all make mistakes, right?

Persephone Jones does what she loves best, acting, but her success brings unwanted attention and scrutiny especially since she’s trying to hide her true identity. When Coll steps up to protect Persephone from and unwanted suitor attraction sparks and ignites!

I do love me a sexy Scottish Highlander and Coll MacTaggart fit the bill nicely! Big, protective, and devilishly handsome he ticked all the boxes for me. The romance between Persephone and Coll, playful and hot, was rounded out by the search for the one trying to harm Persephone. The details of theater life were fun and interesting as well.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot was not only an eye catching title, but an engaging, fun romance. I’d love to read more by Suzanne Enoch!

I really enjoyed this book - it broke quite a few of the historical romance tropes - in a good and believable way. Coll is the oldest of the three brothers in the series - and the last who needs to find a wife in order to save their land. It makes sense that Coll is the most resistant - as the oldest he was the most affected by their mother leaving them as children.

We find out more about her reasons in this book, and I really liked the interaction between the siblings and their ladies with Coll.

Meanwhile, Persephone Jones is an extremely talented actress, who immediately grabs Coll's attention - she's beautiful and witty, and also he can annoy his mother by pursuing her instead of finding a bride. I liked Persephone a lot - her talent, the way she interacted with others, and her independence in a mans world. She is a good match for Coll in temperament. And...someone is trying to kill her, but why??

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book. I certainly recommend the series for those who enjoy historical romance.

This has been a fun series as historical fiction, nice cover, and love the blurb but the second book sucked me in.

What did I like? Charming series about needing to marry or lose everything. Persephone catches Coll’s eye as her magnetism as a stage actress astounds him. Although I think Coll was my favorite brother, broody and a bit harsh with his fists, an overly protective sort. Four stars of entertainment!

Would I recommend or buy? I’d love this series for my shelf! I read book two and three but missed the first book! I love highland romance and any lovers of the same will enjoy this authors work!

Hit Me With Your Best Scot by Suzanne Enoch was a unique and refreshing historical romance novel. I thought Enoch did a great job with character development throughout this series and this book was no different. I thought it was a sharp, witty, and fast paced book which made for an easy read.One thing I loved is how both our main characters are strong individuals, but when they come together they show such vulnerability which leads to a beautiful relationship.

Ok I'm starting this book by saying Coll took a few chapters to worm up to. He was opinionated and hard with words when needed.
Sometimes he spoke without much thought and that kinda got the better of me. As for Persephone; she was likeable. This story was more based on the chemistry between them and not to much in depth of the relationship. Don't get me wrong it was enjoyable but something was missing and I just can't put my finger on what. I did laugh and I even shed a tear but something was preventing me fully enjoying this book as I (probably) should.

Maybe after I re-read it in the future I'll figure it out but for now this is getting a light 4* rating.

Probably my favorite of the Wild Wicked Highlanders, this delightful story with its ear worm of a title had me smiling the entire time I was reading it. I love that Coll is quite alpha, protective and decisive but also very considerate of Persie's wishes. I absolutely adored his love declaration. I also love Persie's independence and sexual agency. I love that she was in peril but never helpless.

I'm always happy reading about close family relationships and the Oswell-MacTaggerts are a fun bunch. It's great to see all the couples show up in this book. Ms. Enoch gave enough background information on their courtships without recapping them in detail.

The little bit of intrigue on who was the mastermind behind the threats to Persie's life was creatively done. I found out the same time Coll and Persie did. Overall, a fabulous ender to a fantastic series.

I enjoyed this book in the series - it was great to see Coll get his happy ending! I really liked this group of Highlander brothers and we got to see a bit more of Coll's relationship with his mother as well as some insight into their father.

The way the relationship developed between Coll and Persephone was well done and I appreciated the way they were both pretty realistic at the beginning about what they could be to each other...even though it changed.

I'll definitely be picking up more by Suzanne Enoch in the future!

I used to adore Suzanne Enoch's historicals when I was younger, but all the spark has gone out of her writing. DNF at 30% as I'm not invested at all in the story.

Persie is not as she seems. A free spirited and beautiful actress she has run away from home and set her own path. Coll a brawny highland laird and Viscount, from his mothers side is looking for a wife and it is not Persie. Persie is a distraction but she is also all he wants. But he needs a proper lady. When some accidents start happening to Persie he becomes her protector. Though everyone is against this relationship Coll decides he doesn't care he is going to get Persie to admit she loves him. I received an advanced copy and my review is voluntary.

What a great story! Coll definitely lived up to my expectations from the beginning of this series. And Persephone was perfect for him. I really hope we get a second chance romance book for Lord and Lady Aldriss.

I haven't read the first two books in the series and while it's not a necessity I feel like I may have enjoyed this more if I had.

Coll MacTaggert - Viscount Glendarril - has only 27 days to find an English bride in order to secure the financial safety of his people. Of the three MacTaggert brothers, Coll is the angriest about their situation. He doesn't like being told what to do and certainly doesn't want to settle for an Englishwoman who wouldn't have the slightest clue about life in the Highlands. He's a brawny, blunt Highlander who has a tendency to insult ladies without intending to - which could be quite amusing. To stop his mother from meddling - even temporarily - he decides to tell her that he intends to wed Persephone Jones.

Persephone Jones is a famous actress. She's wealthy, independent and has no desire for marriage despite her endless amount of suitors. When Coll and Persephone meet backstage sparks fly and after coming to her rescue he vows to be her protector. In exchange, she'll instruct him on how to be a proper gentleman so he can find a wife on his own.

I really liked these two together - especially their banter. Coll is the first man to see her for who she really is instead of the character she's portraying on stage which makes it hard to keep him at arms length. What begins as a simple attraction quickly morphs into something more and when Coll learns her secret he becomes even more determined to keep her safe from the danger appearing around every corner.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot was a fun read with plenty of witty banter, danger, drama and a sizzling romance. It did feel a bit slow at times and was a bit hard to get into at first. I could have done without the insta-lust but I still enjoyed watching their relationship evolve.
Now I'm going to need to pick up the first two books so I can read about how Aden and Niall got their happily ever afters!

The third in the Wild Wicked Highlanders series by Suzanne Enoch - I honestly did not enjoy the beginning and was worried this one would be a dud. However, Coll McTaggert and Persephone Jones grew on me - Especially Coll in that he starts out barbaric and too overbearing, but then has a nice character development over the course of the story. Moreover, I'm a sucker for strong heroines who make their own decisions and don't necessarily abide by society's restrictions. Persephone is this heroine - Strong, independent, and hiding her identity in order to do what she loves but also protect herself from her past.

While this one was not my favorite of the series, I certainly was consumed by the story in the end. And it was nice getting cameos from Coll's siblings and learning more about what happened with his parents, in particular his mother and why she left the Highlands for England, leaving Coll and his brothers to grow up without a mother.

All in all, a fun historical romance romp with some mystery and chemistry.

This is the third book in the Wild Wicked Highlanders series and I’m sure readers will be happy to FINALLY get Coll’s book.

Coll is the wildest of the three MacTaggert brothers and the least enthused about taking an English bride in order to preserve his mother’s financing of their family estate in Scotland. But both of his brothers have already wed and he only has a couple of weeks to settle down in matrimony.

Enter in one Mrs. Persephone Jones, an actress who is currently the darling of the London stage. Coll takes an interest in her and then becomes her protector when it’s obvious that someone is trying to murder her.

This is probably my second favorite of the series. I really enjoyed this couple and liked the plot twist of Persie’s true identity. I think this heroine absolutely worked for this Highland brother. The murder mystery was nicely done and I really had no idea who the villain could be until the very end. I also really enjoyed seeing the entire MacTaggert family finally have a reunion and work through their differences.

This was a lovely wrap-up to the series.

Romance, suspense, intrigue, and humor, this book has it all. I’m really sorry to see this series end, as I’ve enjoyed all of these books for their rollicking good time throughout the entire story. With great characters that are so well-written, I wanted to be friends with them, or slap some sense into them. I loved how Persephone’s personality came through, and her secrets were revealed little by little. Coll’s take charge attitude, spoiling for a fight, was fun to watch, as he alternated between big, protective male, and a little bit lost in the circumstances. The meddling/helpful brothers and of course Lady Aldriss added richness as secondary characters. So many great twists and turns kept the plot entertaining to the grand finish. Interesting storyline, great characters, lots of heat and smexy-times but a bit light on romance, and an intriguing mystery. I didn't read the other books in the series so I was a bit lost at first, but I was able to catch up ok. I really liked Coll and Persephone. All in all, it was well-worth reading.

Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, has a bit of a problem. Actually, it is a big problem. He has to marry soon in order to keep the funding for the family property. Coll is an intimidating man, both in his physical appearance and his rather unconventional methods of communicating. Quite by accident he meets Mrs. Persephone Jones and eventually a relationship develops. Coll is expected to marry royalty and Persephone is an actress. Such a union would create a scandal. It becomes apparent someone is trying to kill Persephone and Coll commits to protecting her and plans to find out who wants her dead and why.

The story is populated with a diverse group of well developed characters. This well told story is packed with action, themes of family, passion, romance. The dialogue is often witty and always meaningful. Secrets are revealed and there are surprises. It all comes together to create an engrossing and well worth reading story. Highly recommended.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot is the first book I have read in the Wild Wicked Highlanders series and it stands perfectly fine on its own. There was enough of a teaser of the earlier stories however that I certainly can't wait to grab my copy of those stories. They certainly sound intriguing.

I wasn't sure how Coll and Persephone was going to work as a couple but I adored both of their characters and the entire story line. This story engaged me from the start and kept me entertained throughout. Very enjoyable!
