Filled to the brim with really good reads. Many of these writers were new to me; some were favorite authors--I'm so glad I was selected to review this collection because I can now add new writers to read and enjoy.

Really fun, enjoyable holiday read. I love a good book on a cold night to feel cozy!
Kerrigan Byrne was my favorite (no surprise there). Really thought I wouldn’t be into the ghosts, but I guess I am.

Thanks the NetGalley, the publisher, and the authors for the arc. All opinions are my own.

An enjoyable holiday anthology with sone of my favorite historical romance authors! My favorite story was by Kerrigan Byrne, who knew a ghost story would be such a hit at Christmas time!

Another one that just didn't work for me - I enjoyed Jennifer's story but the others I had a hard time even becoming interested in.

I cannot download via Amazon and there is no other option so I cannot read/review this wonderful anthology. If you would make it available in epub/adobe digital editions I would gladly read it. Or if you would send it via email.

I haven't read any books in this series but am a huge fan of several of the authors so I was eager to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. So many wonderful authors all wrapped in one amazing book.

All of the stories are set in Calvine Village which is in the Highlands of Scotland. Near Culloden sits Balthazar’s Tavern on the road to Inverness. The tavern owner's daughter Carrie has a room with artifacts from the battle. Artifacts from both the Scots and the English. setup a secret room of artifacts from the battle, from both sides of the conflict. This is a place where all the magic of Christmas will happen.

Each one of the novellas were well written and I enjoyed them. You do not have to have read any of the series to read these. I had my favorites of course, but all in all these were enjoyable and I loved spending my time off with them.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

What a great book with all the authors that I love writing about the same inn/tavern!

There are six stories in this collections and most deal with the Highlands after the battle of Culloden.

Some of the novellas have a bit of humor with their story and titles, one had a ghost as the hero, and was pretty funny as he didn't like sharing his "room", and then there were the dramatic story of a lost sword, a sad story of a brother hunting for any word of his brother (a de Lohr!), and the last one was kind of funny as the hero was going to kidnap a woman but she was glad to leave with him!

All were great and I enjoyed reading each story and what a great holiday bundle of books!

In the wake of the devastating Battle of Culloden, Christmas cheer is hard to come by. However, with a momentous stay at the Balthazar in the village of Calvine situated in the Scottish Highlands not far from the battlefield a bit of Christmas, magic can achieve much. A Very Highland Christmas features six novellas from some sensational historical romance writers. I've read books by half and have the other half on my wish list so it took less time than the twinkle of the Christmas lights to have me delighted to read this holiday historical anthology.

The anthology ties together with each story set at the inn and connected to the nearby battlefield. I could tell that some are connected to series by the authors like Ashley's story was from her MacKenzie world and Crosby's was a prequel, but not sure if all were. I had no trouble treating them as standalones.

As with many an anthology, I loved a couple, really liked most of the others and found one moderately likeable. To be fair, I think the okay one was due to writing style for me rather than anything really lacking. I liked the variety in the writing and where they all took their stories.

For novellas, they had good development of characters and situations though a couple presumed romance rather than showing it building like LeVeque's that focused on the brothers more than the romance. Byrne's had me teary-eyed with the tragic and I found Knight's was relaxing as a low angst opposite. There was paranormal in a couple with Burke's being the strongest about a legendary sword.

In summary, I thought spending Christmas in the historical, magical highlands was fabulous and would gladly pick up more from every one of these authors particularly in novel-length to see them all delve deeper into their characters, plot, and setting. I wanted a variety of historicals and romantic situations and this anthology delivers so I can definitely recommend it.

this collection was a mixed bag for me, a lot of the stories were just average for me but there were a couple that did stand out from the rest. I definitely still enjoyed reading it though, I haven't read any of these authors before so it was a good way to try out new authors and see their writing styles. there is a lot of variety within the stories so there's something here for everyone I would think. a good read for the holiday season but not an absolute favourite of mine.

The Knight of Christmas Future - 3 stars - such a beautiful story about the love between brothers and discovering a love that's been there all along but I was expecting more romance. much more about family love than it is a romantic story

The Earl of Christmas Past - 4 stars - wasn't sure how i'd feel about this as the H is a ghost but I actually really enjoyed it, such a sweet romance and i definitely felt the connection between our two MC's

Fiona and Her Three Wise Highlanders - 3 stars - a fun and interesting story but lacking in any swoony romance unfortunately

One Knight's Stand - 3 stars - this was a good meet-cute story, i liked the characters but I didn't feel too much chemistry between them

The Legend of a Rogue (Highland Hearts) - 3.5 stars - an interesting second chance romance story. there's a lot going on here so it's not completely focused on the romance but I did like the romance that was there even though it was definitely very insta

The Highlander Who Nearly Stole Christmas - 4 stars - I really enjoyed this one, the whole concept of the story was great - I loved him wanting to abduct her but she just comes along willingly. super fun and I loved the chemistry between these two

I loved the Kerrigan Byrne story; the rest of the novellas were just okay. That's almost certainly due to my taste and historical romance preferences (I only read highland settings every now and then). BUT, as a collection, Byrne's story also stands out as the best written.

I loved Kerrigan Byrne , and Tanya Anne Crosby , but found some of the idea a little far fetched , but read to the end.

I really really enjoyed all of the stories in this book. I also loved the cover on this book it is beautiful and definitely a great book to read during the winter and Christmas time. I loved all the authors and now I have to go and read more by them. I definitely recommend this to anyone that likes highland romances and historical romances. I want to thank netgalley and the publisher for sending me an e arc in exchange for my honest review.

Honestly, I’m glad to finally be done with this anthology. I only really enjoyed 2 of the 6 stories (Kerrigan Byrne’s and Eliza Knight’s). Most of the other stories were a little too long and didn’t focus enough on the romances. That made for a kind of frustrating reading experience most of the time.

I did really like the premise of all of the stories centering on Balthazar’s Inn in Calvine in the aftermath of the battle of Culloden. I also enjoyed the dashes of magic that was thrown in most of the stories.

Kerrigan Byrne did a great job writing an interesting ghost story was a great romance, and Eliza Knight’s story that was loosely based off of How the Grinch Stole Christmas was so much fun. Other than that, this anthology was just “meh” for me.
