The cover of this poetry collection pulled me in. I liked that there were distinct sections of poetry categories. I loved the pirate poetry and the cowboy poetry. The miner poetry was historically connected. The literary allusions abounded. The ending felt very rushed and thrown together.
I liked the start, but not the end.

This one was certainly a journey. I didn't plan on reading Images, but cover caught my eye and I was hooked. I usually read only so called "modern poetry" and I am not used to anything else. That's why I had a problem to get into this collection in the beginning. Luckily I got used to author's style of writing and I could start enjoying the epic journey.

The whole experience felt really similar to the time when I read Oddyssey by Homer (not whole story, but about half of it was enough). Kenneth Champion comes with vivid and compelling tale of pirates, warriors and more. The whole collection consists not only of poems, but also of prose and other stuff. Poems themselves felt pretty prosaic and rich. I had to focus a lot to keep up with the story. If you are not fan of stuff like that, don't pick this up.

It was a unique experience like nothing I've ever read. Would I recommend? Maybe. If you are into heroic tales, pirates and adventures, you might enjoy it!
