Neither Wyatt nor Breigh are looking for love but what happens when it find them anyway? This was a really sweet read. It’s my first by Brooklyn Taylor but not my last.

This book was mislabeled as Christian fiction. I wasn't looking for this type of contemporary romance.

I received an ARC of this audiobook through NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Wyatt Galloway may be part of *the* Galloway family, but he is not like the rest of them. He walked away from his inheritance at 18 to become a sheriff. His focus is entirely on his career, and he has no intentions of falling in love until he meets Breigh. Breigh is also not interested in a relationship after having her heart broken by her last boyfriend, but that also changes when she meets Wyatt.

I liked the fact that in this book, even though both protagonists had no intention of dating, they didn't use it as an excuse not to be together once they met and had that instant connection. I was not a fan of how often we were reminded that Wyatt and Breigh are good people because they have worked for everything in their lives and eschew wealth. I get that it was part of their characters and who they were, but it was mentioned more often than was necessary, in my opinion. The characters were also rather flat – if they were good, they were very good. If they were bad, there was no good to be found in them. This book just wasn't for me and isn't one I would recommend to my friends.

This was my first Brooklyn Taylor's book. This is a sweet Modern Christian Romance, heartwarming, and filled with drama. I loved to follow Wyatt and Breigh in their journey. The supporting characters are great. Avery Reid and Matthew Maddux did a good job with the narration.

I truly enjoyed reading Be My Reason. It is a romance novel telling the tale of Wyatt Galloway, a Deputy Sheriff and Breigh, a woman whose alcoholic father blames her for the death of her mother years ago.

I will say that although this book is written from a Christian perspective, there is a reference to a shower regarding two of the characters. The characters in Be My Reason are well drawn and it is clear where they are coming from by how they comport themselves in this story. I listened to the audio version of this book. I have no complaints about the narration. If you enjoy a clean romance with imperfect Christian characters maneuvering through real-life type situations, you will enjoy Be My Reason.

I’m giving this book 5 stars because it was such an enjoyable read and held my attention throughout the story.

I love reading sweet love stories like this! The connection to faith gave the book more depth than an average romance book. Such a sweet refreshing story line, I definitely recommend! Thank you to NetGalley and Spectrum Audio for a copy of this book for an honest review.

It was a nice book but it felt a bit stretched and repetitive in some parts. A nice story overall but editing could’ve been better.

I requested this audio book for review on NetGalley. It was listed as a Christian fiction title. It did have a light faith element woven throughout the story and had a slow moving storyline with two characters who had some trust issues.

However, there are two main reasons that I do not feel that I can recommend this story. When reading a clean book or a Christian book, I expect it to be free from bad language and cursing. The main characters let curse words slip out frequently when they were upset. This would have surprised me in a clean novel, but I expect there to be no bad language in a Christian book.

There were no graphic sex scenes in this story, however, the main characters do have a shower scene together while they were still dating. Suddenly they are getting undressed and about to shower together. This would be very surprising to find in clean fiction and not something that I care to find in a Christian fiction story.

I listened to the audio version of the story and I thought that the narrators did a fairly good job. I liked that there was both a woman and a man narrator. That was enjoyable to listen to.

Overall, I personally think this title should be listed as a general market fiction book where some language and premarital sex in a story is not surprising.

I received a complimentary copy of this audio book. All opinions are my own.

BE MY REASON was sent to me by Net Galley, free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
I chose to listen to this Christian Fiction novel, BE MY REASON, as an audiobook. I enjoyed listening to the two narrators, Avery Reed and Kyle Tate. I liked that there were two. Brooklyn Taylor was the author of this precious book, about second chances in love.
Breigh, Wyatt, Cash, and Emma were the main characters. Breigh and Emma were best friends, but couldnt have been more different. Breigh was not interested in socializing, especially after her recent heartbreak. Her dad was a drunk, and so she grew up with her Grandma, whom she totally adored. Emma, however, was very outgoing. She loved to party. And, she loved men. Her goal – to get Breigh back out there.
Wyatt was also uninterested in socializing. He too was nursing a heartbreak. He had left his family because, though they were wealthy, he wanted to earn his own way. He was a deputy sheriff, working his way up to Ranger. His big brother, Cash, was the opposite. He had no problem throwing around the family money. He was the reason for Wyatt’s heartbreak. But, I guess Wyatt had forgiven him because he was out with him for a drink and a talk. He wanted to know what was going on with Mom and Dad. Because Wyatt was so close to his Aunt Rhonda (his mom’s sister), Cash figured he might know.
That night a romance might have bloomed…Was it Emma and Cash? Or maybe Wyatt and Breigh? I don’t do spoilers, so you’ll have to read the book or listen to the audiobook to find out! 🙂 But, hint hint…YOU WANT TO READ THIS BOOK!!
I do recommend this book, if you like refreshing, not filthy, Christian romance. I was pleased!!

A sweet romance, I liked it but for me it missed something maybe it was a little to predictable. The couple was nice and the side characters (grandmother and aunt) where great.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this clean and wholesome romance. The protagonists repeated numerous times that everything happens in your life for a reason and perhaps this audiobook was exactly what I needed in these curious and uncertain times.

Deputy Sheriff Wyatt Galloway is the strong and protective type of man who likes to notice and take care of the small things. He is hard-working, honest and thoughtful. One drawback: he isn't looking for a girlfriend as he is concentrating on his career and making his dream of becoming a ranger come true. Wyatt comes from a wealthy family, but he would have known little love and affection were it not for his aunt Rhonda. His mother Virginia isn't a maternal type, and the less is said about his father and his brother Cash, the better. When Wyatt told his parents about his career aspirations, his father cut all his links with his son. Everything Wyatt owns in his life he has earned through his hard work.

Sweet Breigh Foster hasn't had much luck with her family either. Her mother died giving birth to her and Breigh's father used losing his wife as an excuse for drinking and neglecting his daughter. luckily, Breigh has a wonderful grandmother who has taken good care of her and taught her all the right things in life. One of them is that God has a plan for everyone and all the people who come in our life come for a reason. Sometimes it is just for a season, sometimes it is for life. Breigh's previous romantic relationship didn't work out, so she decided to focus on work instead.

Wyatt and Breigh have so much in common, and yet, they both need to learn to trust each other and their own feelings. I couldn't help, but admire Breigh's choice of career- I won't give it away, but she found her own way of helping people at the moment when they need support and reassurance. She is also a great friend who always puts her friends needs first. She also had to make some hard choices in this book, which required a lot of emotional maturity. Breigh and Wyatt's relationship develops slowly and steadily over the course of the book, although I would be remiss if I didn't mention that there is a fade-to-black scene where the characters take their relationship to the next level.

I thought the narrators did a great job- I never wanted to skip anything or listen at a faster rate. There is a lot of inherent repetition in the book content itself ( the characters value hard work, they respect and appreciate the role the elderly played in their life, they are looking for somebody special in their life, 'the reason'), so even the easily distracted listener I tend to be could follow the narration easily. I absolutely adored Avery Reid in all the entirety of Breigh's interactions with other characters in the book and I thought Matthew Maddux did a great job of bringing his strong and silent character of Wyatt to life.

Thank you to NetGalley and Spectrum Audiobooks for the DRC of this audiobook. All opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

Both narrators were 5 stars. They both had great voices for narrating and would happily listen to book read by them again.

The story was good and exactly what I needed today. I was invested in both characters and was rooting for their love story

This was the first time I’d heard of this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I always love finding good, clean romances and this was a good one! It was a slow burn romance, which I also typically enjoy. Brooklyn Taylor did a wonderful job with this story. I listened to the audiobook of this story, and it was a pleasant listen.

Audio Book Review🎧🇮🇳📖 Audio-Book - Be my reason
Author - Brooklyn Taylor
Genre - Women's Fiction/Romance

Published - Will publish on 26th October 2020

🌹The love story is sweet and realistic. It is slow burning and pleasantly passionate showing second chances stand a good deal too.

🌹I thank @Netgalley and @brooklyntaylor for providing me advance audiobook copy for my honest review.

🌹I found the book actually portrayed as good family story where Wyatt and Breigh cross the path when none of them were looking forward for second chances in their live's journey. And the love story takes place unnoticeably. Their loved ones such as family members or friends are playing good roles. So I personally adored the story line and characters both.

🌹The name justifies the plot where they indeed needed in reality and turned to out to be a reason for each other. The writeup is simple yet sweet as we get instant connection with setup. Brooklyn has crafted all the characters pretty well.

🌹In narrations I personally thought maybe Wyatt's voice would have been softer and Briegh's was perfect. The voice modulations as per playing different characters were rightly done by Matthew Maddux and Avery Reid.

A chance meeting between a legal assistant and a sheriff's deputy at a dance club initiates a romance that is kindled by subsequent encounters despite an interfering brother, an alcoholic father and dealing with a dying aunt.

The plot flows smoothly and the characters are likable. For a Christian romance I was surprised to come across several swear words and a premarital shower scene.

I liked how the book started off but by chapter 2 it had became repetitive and contradictory. For example, Wyatt claimed he walked away from his family then later claimed he had been kicked out by his father. Bree claimed she's not interested in Wyatt but then spent hours dancing with him and getting flustered when he showed up.

The tag says Christian but the characters had sex in the shower while they were still dating. They were not married (it wasn't graphic but it happened).

I did not like the male character. Wyatt spent so much time in the opening scenes talking about how horrible his father and brother were without doing much to show himself to be any different than they were.

Brie drank a lot which I felt was out of character for someone so affected by an alcoholic parent.

The characters talk alot and there wasn't a lot of action. There were some things that were repetitive and were often repeated as if it was being said for the first time.

There were a couple of opportunities for conflict in this book, but when it finally happened, it wasn't as dramatic as it could have been and it was too easily resolved.

There is a faint faith thread throughout this novel reminding the reader that everything and every one has a purpose for being in your life

I received an advanced reader's copy from the publishers through NetGalley; a positive review was not required.

Be My Reason by Brooklyn Taylor is...
*A clean romance
*quick listen for an audiobook
*had great narrators
Having said that I just didn’t love it.
There was a lot of dialogue in their own head. Which feels to me like they can’t be sure of anything. I also wanted a more developed story with more intense feelings and actions to support the struggles and love. In my opinion it could of been much more romantic.

Thank you NETGALLEY and the publisher for this audiobook ARC, in exchange for my honest review. ♥️

This was the cutest book I have read in a while!! I listened to it on audio with the two characters voices going back and forth with each chapter. Will they end up together? Him, coming from a rich family and just trying to do his own thing as sheriff. Her, trying to live life with having a father who everyone knows needs bailed out all of the time while having grown up with a grandmother who took good care of her. Will families and circumstances come between them? If was such a sweet read that I needed.

Although I enjoyed the story of Wyatt and Breigh, it was difficult to listen to. The female narrator kept inhaling audibly throughout and it seems to me they each should have read their own characters part instead of each trying to emulate the voice of the other. I'm sorry to say that I would not recommend it without changes made.

This was a sweet, no angst romance set in Texas. Let me start by saying if you're looking for a steamy listen with tons of sex, this is not the book for you . However, if you need a break from too much drama and right out of the gate sex scenes, give this one a listen.
It was a different type of romance that I'm used to reading and if you have a young teen who's starting to request reading love stories GRAB THIS BOOK!
I think this was a cute story that had potential to have more depth it but it fell short. Still worth the read, especially if you want to dip your toes into the romance genre.
I will say I did love the references and overall theme of faith surrounding this story.
