Common Magick means that magick used by the common people. Not high ritual magick nor needing lots of tools to do. Reading this book felt very right for me. Anyone of any nationality can benefit from the techniques given here. However being of this heritage made me want to read it even more. I was not dissapointed.
The book is laid out in a sequence that makes lots of sense. First tell what magick is and what it isnt. Then talk about ownership in what a person does magically. The tools needed and times to perform the ritual are discussed as well ad what to expect. History of spells and how they were used are also talked about. I was amazed at reading a few items that his family did sounded familiar to what I remember as a child my grandparents talked about or actually did. I felt like I was taking a trip to knowledge that has been largely forgotten the more I read. This book is loaded with positive ideas and very healthy ways of living a better life . These concepts were used by our ancestors for a reason . They work often and dont require more effort than thinking something through and preparing . My favorite part of this book was something that I remember having happen when I was young. Many years ago a family member passed away that lived near me. When I visited the home his wooden chair was outside on the porch. I remember asking why the rocker was sitting there. I dont remember the reply. After reading this I now know why his chair was put out. It just all makes sense and connects with ancient ways. Great for anyone new or curious to the metaphysical. But also covers much I never read before .
