What a gem. A well researched book, comprehensive but easy to learn and navigate. This is a great book to have on ones shelf for further reference due to its vast information and enjoyable reading. First time reading this author and I look forward to reading more from her. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this copy.

What a treat of a book! Woodfield's text takes readers on a deep dive into the roots and spiritual practices of the Morrgian. I would recommend this to readers already familiar with the Morrigan but I am almost tempted to have readers begin here as I can't think of an introductory text that would handle all spiritual topics surrounding the Morrigan with such care and nuance.

Woodfield takes complex Irish mythology and makes it easily digestible while still keeping the complexity of the characters and stories. Woodfield sticks closely to primary source material which, unfortunately, can be rare in this genre. Many authors authoring occult-like books only offer interpretations while Woodfield's carefully researched text is a breath of fresh air. This lends to an unmatched bibliography that will point readers to a comprehensive reading list of excellent primary sources.

What makes this text stand out amongst all other texts on the Morrigan is Woodfield's firm stance on de-romanticizing war. Woodfield continuously mentions this stance without directly pointing out that this is an issue amongst the community. In this way, Woodfield tackles the issue gently but unyielding as she offers no alternative way to view war other than a horrible act. I loved Woodfield's argument that spirituality is meaningless if you are not fighting some type of mental/physical battle with yourself or others. This is such a healthy outlook when those drawn to the Morrigan may feel struggle is necessary. Woodfield also differentiates herself amongst other occult texts by detailing oracular work which is typically kept hidden and sacred. The work is explored deeply and in an easy to understand structure without losing its arcane magic. Woodfield's decision to explore this shows me she has a confident relationship with her practice and is encouraging readers to take a more realistic look at spiritual work surrounding the Morrigan.

I was surprised to see Woodfield dive into conversations on toxic productivity, sexuality, and nuanced discussion of translations. The books is mystical while placing the reader in the real, modern world. The writing is clear, focused, and intelligent. I loved this and can't wait to recommend it to Pagan readers!

This is a great book to keep in your reference section. There were some things I already knew, but there was new information too. It was well written and was really quite useful.

As a fan of her previous work, I found her choice to go further indepth on such a prolific goddess as the morrigan.

I found this book to be an excellent companion book to her book Spellcraft of the Dark Goddess, it is well written and insightful for those seeking to deepen their relationship with this mighty deity.

After reading this one I will so have to check out this authors other book Celtic Lore!! Ive done patchwork with the Morrigan years ago and this was a great book to find more insight. This book was a wonderful job showing us who the Morrigan is and the processes of transformation that comes when working with her.

Was told before to check out this author & had planned to but never got around to it [or many other books] was so excited it was brought up to read & review on Netgalley & eternally grateful for the suggestion. Now this is another author whose other books along the same vein I am going to have to get for myself. First let me say I usually leave a review a week or more after i have read due to lack of time. I am so glad that I gave another review before this book came up as I had to laugh at how similar some of the things she said & brought up with thoughts, feelings & words I had said there. I am so impressed with the level of poetry & translations MD has done that has added new insight & feel and her work was also mentioned in this book. This author speaks my mind about many things surrounding the Morrigan & gives me new insight in things I have perceived. This is a treasure trove of information & rituals & a wealth of knowledge. Many really good rituals & everything put forth in a good way as she also dispels some really erroneous attitudes & ideas surrounding the Morrigan . Would highly recommend. There is such strength in words:

This exactly the book that I was looking for on the Morrigan. Someone who has been a priestess and understands the path towards this goddess. Well written, highly informative, and intriguing. Will recommend to anyone who wants to become a priestess of the Morrigan.

I've had my eye on Stephanie Woodfield's books for a while with Celtic Lore and Dark Goddess Craft being on the top of my TBR for a while, and after reading Priestess of the Morrigan, I will definitely be diving into those books sooner rather than later.

Woodfield talks about the Morrigan in a way that anyone who's interested can identify with. When she describes her experiences on this path, you almost feel like you're with her, and one thing I can say is I'm looking forward to getting a hard copy of this book so I can go through and add my notes in and re-read different parts of the book.

Any witch interested in an in-depth look into working with The Morrigan, or those just curious about the mythology surrounding the Great Queen of Celtic lore, should pick this book up.
