This book was SO gripping, I finished it in a few hours as I couldn’t put it down.

The ending was so unexpected, yet obvious at the same time? I was kicking myself for not getting it sooner.

This was an anticipated release, and I've read reviews that it was a heart pounding journey. For me, it was just "okay." I felt like I couldn't really get into it. I didn't finish at 15%.

I really liked the island aspect of the story, however picked the killer quite early. To be honest I wouldnt have been disappointed if M died in the end

This book had me intrigued, as I had heard a lot of good things about this author prior to reading it.
Unfortunately, I have recently read another "teenagers on an island" thriller and this one just didn't grab me as much. I don't want to judge the book too unfairly as had I not read the similar one so recently, I probably would be more engaged. However, I do want to read something different that is unique to it, and this one just wasn't for me. The characters were intriguing and had interesting relationships, but they weren't different enough for me to the previous book. Sorry!

Written in the style of being told a chapter at a time from each of the different characters this was a good read.
The plot is a little predictable but it's tense enough to keep you hooked and guessing who is doing the killing and why. I could easily see this being a teen style slasher movie.

Whisper Island is in vein of the classic Agatha Christie novel And Then There Was One. It is a decent psychological thriller told from multiple view points of the main characters. If your looking for a quick thriller, this will keep you entertained.

Riley, Mia, Scarlett and Sammy are friends at art college. Sammy has an idea of traveling to Whisper Island so that they can concentrate on producing great art work during the summer. Her brother Rob told her about the island, it belonged to the family of a friend of his and it’s free to stay there. The other girls agree to the trip although Mia is not happy to hear that Rob will be going too - he’s an ex-boyfriend and broke her heart. When the girls get there they find that Rob has arrived early and has a girlfriend Opal, in tow. With no internet or cell coverage it seems to be the perfect place to work on their art. Then one of them is killed. Is the killer one of the group hiding in plain sight or is someone else on the island too? When more killings occur those left behind are desperate to leave the island.

The story is told from each of the characters point of view and is an easy and enjoyable read.

This was a pretty average read for me. An interesting premise, but I feel it lacked the ambience of a great thriller. I think an omniscient narrator would have helped the story greatly; despite the multiple POVs, I didn’t feel like it added much to the novel. An imaginative story (although not really original), I still enjoyed reading it but don’t think I’d pick it up again.

A group of friends are going to Whisper Island in Alaska to focus on their art. When one of them invites her brother, who brings along his girlfriend, the drama begins. And the relaxation never really starts as they arrive to find less than desirable accommodations. Of the six on the island, only one makes it back alive. It is a fun who done it mystery – is there a killer on the island or is it one of them?

Liked it, just didn’t love it. While the book was entertaining and a quick read, it kind of missed the boat for me. And not just the boat that went missing in the story that kept the group stranded on the island. Someone would get killed and it was onto the next thing like a friend or relative getting killed was a normal event for the characters. Or that no one knew whose island they were stranded on. Good twist at the end and will definitely check out other books by this author.

"Six of us are going to the island. Only one of us will make it back. That one of us will be me." How do you not get sucked in by that tag line?! Who is speaking? Who ends up dying? Why is this happening?!

Whisper Island is a closed-circle mystery story told in multiple perspectives. A group of friends from art school head to a deserted Alaskan island to bond over the summer and explore their art. Not long after arriving on island people start dying. I really enjoyed the varying perspectives, short chapters and whodunnit storyline. The pace picked up in the second half, and while I inevitably found some elements predictable, I couldn't put the book down. Great, quick thriller.

I loved the style of writing in this book as each chapter was written by a different person and very gradually the story began to unfold releasing hidden details. The 6 characters were all so clearly described and each had very individual personalities which as a reader I loved some and most definitely disliked others. All the way through I kept relating in my mind to the Agatha Christie book and therefore finding reasons to decide who was the murderer - how I was fooled! The ending chapters were excellent and put everything into a new perspective.
Highly recommend this author and especially this book for its intrigue.

There are few tropes I love more than when a group of characters is stranded together on an island and starts getting picked off one by one. I gues And Then There Were None got to me early in life. Whisper Island, by Carissa Ann Lynch, promised a a creepy, dark and twisty rendition of this trope. Unfortunately, the execution was a letdown.

I found the writing sloppy, with turns of phrase I was constantly wishing I could edit, and the characters unappealing and - more importantly, since I don't mind reading about unlikeable people at all - uninteresting. The pacing was off, too, as the first half really dragged before the real action started, and, once it did, it was too predictable to be truly tense and suspenseful. Overall, just unfortunately a miss for me.

Whisper Island belongs to a friend of Sammy's brother Rob, and they can stay rent free. But things begin to sour before they even pack their bags when Mia finds out Rob will be coming along. Not only was this supposed to be a girls retreat, but Mia and Rob dated before he broke her heart and she still has feelings for him. When they arrive on the island, they discover that Rob arrived early along with an unexpected guest, his girlfriend Opal. The house and outbuildings are a lot more dilapidated than expected and the whole island just gives of a creepy vibe. When a human skull is discovered on the property, the friends decide they've had enough. But when they try to leave they discover their boat, the only way off the island, has been destroyed. Vacation turns to nightmare after one of the girls is brutally murdered. With no way to call for help and no way to escape, will any of them survive?
By the first sentence in this book, you know who survives and how many, but what actually happened and why had me on the edge of my seat! What a thrill ride! I loved this creepy book. Thank you so much to Carissa Ann Lynch and HarperCollins One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this book.

This is a fun, fast-paced teen thriller in the same vein as any number of slasher movies. What makes this one fun is the setting - a remote island where four friends on an adventure. But between uninvited guests and unexpected inconveniences, the girls aren't sure their ideal adventure before "grown-up life" begins is going to turn out as planned. And nothing turns out as planned as one by one, people start dying. This is a fun locked-room mystery. It's a big trend right now and this one could easily get lost in the shuffle, but for younger readers who are fans of thrillers, this one gets a recommendation.

WHAT I LIKED: I loved that the chapters are short and sweet. The story is told from the girls' POV, and Lynch has done a perfect job in creating depth in every character to make me feel like I know who they are and their secrets before things start to go astray. The writing is good and kept me hooked for the most part.

WHAT I DISLIKED: An isolated island? A group of people getting killed one by one? There are quite a few books with this theme in the market at the moment, and I have read a few last year. (The Guest List by Lucy Foley, and In a Dark, Dark Wood, and One by One by Ruth Ware). So, frankly, even though I love locked-room mystery books, the plot of The Whisper Island is not different from the others, and hence is a bit boring and largely predictable. The identity of the murderer was extremely easy to guess. One thing that baffled me the most is how the island had electricity but no cell service. And it is difficult for me to imagine that six young individuals agreed to go to a remote island for 3 months knowing that they won't be able to use their phones! This is not a bad book, however, it could have been better.

Not bad. An island murder mystery basically. While it's a pretty easy read, it was also really good. It kept me on my toes and I never really knew who or what to expect. I never try to guess the killer anyway. Overall, well done.

This is a riveting, addictive and twist-laden thriller with a compelling and immersive plot full of creepiness and an unsettling undertone throughout. It's compulsive and fast-paced with a well-crafted plot and an intriguing and engaging cast of characters. This is well-written and highly readable fiction with a plethora of twists, turns and red herrings to throw you off the scent and right from the beginning I was hooked. The author creates an effortlessly flowing style of writing which never fails to engage you. An easy, entertaining read with enough happening to keep you satisfyingly turning the pages. Highly recommended.

A great mystery thriller. Four friends from Art college Sammy, Scarlett, Riley and Mia have the chance to take a trip to Whisper Island in Alaska. Thinking it would be a wonderful place to take time out and work on their art they go but everything is not plain sailing. Sammy's brother is also going on the trip, he is also Mia's ex and has drug addiction problems. When the girls arrive he is already there with his new girlfriend Opal.
Each of them are hiding secrets and when the killings start the friendships start to crack. When loyalty turns to suspicion who can you trust?. Who is stalking them? How do they get off the Island?
I could not put this down as I was desperate to know who was behind it. The twists and turns make for a great read and I certainly did not see the ending coming.

I absolutely loved this book and read it within 24 hours! I felt I’d never read a book so quickly in my life before! I couldn’t get enough of it! It has really short chapters which I love as it keeps me reading quicker and also each chapter was a differing point of view of each character which made getting to know the characters so much easier! The actual story it’s self kept having so many twists and turns I couldn’t of read it quick enough if I tried as I just wanted to know what happened next. The settings of whisper island are so creepy actually made me feel a bit funny and really made me feel on edge. this book kept me on my toes and had me guessing who is it the whole time and then came the ending.. well I didn’t expect that massive plot twist!

Whisper Island is another amazing book by Carissa Ann Lynch!!! The story will take you away to places you have never been!!! Unexpected twists will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next!!! Read and enjoy!!!
