I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Another great book from one of my favorite authors. Highly recommend to friends and family.

I have to admit that I did not closely read the description of this book before starting and it took me a little while before I realized this was part of the Legion series and that I had read 1 of those before. I guess this also reinforces that you can start the series at any point, since I didn't have trouble understanding the world, the characters, or the big bad here.

This story belongs to Aiken and Mel. They are both dragon shifters, but they have tremendously different backgrounds. Aiken has always been a fighter - whether in the realm he was born in, acting on behalf of the evil ruler, or in this human world trying to protect innocents. He has also always known that he is a dragon shifter. Mel, on the other hand, has not been so fortunate. Her parents got her to this realm but then left her, unaware of her heritage and her powers. She spent some time in the foster system until she found her chosen guardian. It wasn't until she met and trained with Aiken to be a version of bounty hunter that she was forced to face the facts.

Mel, however, did not accept this easily. In a typical tantrum, she refused and still refuses to accept her dragon half, never shifting or using most of those powers. This baggage is ultimately what broke Mel and Aiken up 80 years ago, and when we meet them again Mel is still holding that same belief somehow. That doesn't stop the big bad from coming out and bringing them back into each others lives, though. The attraction is still there because they are the equivalent of fated mates.

The big bad in this story? Well, there's a lot of evil doers trying to raise an undead army to take over the world. No big deal! Luckily there is a whole gang of folks equipped with special abilities who are ready to dive in, now including Mel. Things aren't very easy, but we do get to a happy ending here for some if not most of the characters. While Mel was completely irrational at times and frustrating the rest, she really stepped up by the end to give Aiken the mate he deserves.

4 stars

In this book by A.C. Arthur, we find a dynamic duo of characters in a cosmic star crossed lovers role. Mel just wants her independence and doesn’t appreciate that Aiken’s “beast” has chosen her. After an 80 year split, they come back together and have to finally deal with all their issues.

This isn’t the type of story that is all sex scenes. There are a good number of these included but it doesn’t detract from the overall story. I appreciated that the author told the story of these two and their trials. It took awhile to go through the journey and that is what sets this book apart from others in this genre.

Good pacing and strong characters. A great mix. Definitely going to check out more from this author.

If you like paranormal romance fiction, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Tempt the Dragon is the third book in A.C. Arthur’s The Legion and possible my least favourite of the series. The story fell a little short of danger and intrigue and the characters were just OK and not as engaging as previous ones. I think I just expected more after reading the first two books in the The Legion. It’s also important to note that this is definitely a series story, so make sure you start from book one or you’ll have trouble following the timeline. Overall, it was a good read, but not great.

This was a good story, second in a series but I didn’t feel lost with holes in the story. All in all I enjoyed it, characters have history and it was explained well enough. There was not edge of your seat reading but it was easy to follow.

They are back! They are the Drakons, dragon shifters of the Far Realm with extraordinary powers who make their home in the Human Realm of Burgess, Pennsylvania, to protect the human population from vampires and witches out to destroy them. I love this series that the talented and versatile A.C.Arthur dubs Afrofuturist Paranormal Romance. TEMPT THE DRAGON is Book 3, and we get to know Aiken French, the half-human, half-dragon and his mate, chameleon Drakon and bounty-hunter, Melody “Mel” Kane.
A.C Arthur is a master storyteller, and her skills are on display in this book. TEMPT THE DRAGON is an entertaining and captivating read. For those of you who are searching for a different slant in a romance story, let me recommend TEMPT THE DRAGON. The book also comes with a glossary that helps you with the terminology. You can thank me later!

Tempt the Dragon is a wildly passionate and heart-pounding masterpiece that is sure to leave you begging for more! Nothing prepared me for the genius of this mesmerizing and intoxicating story. It knocked me off my feet from the very beginning and never let me regain my balance. This is truly a journey that requires unfathomable courage, enduring heart, and a strong will. What you find within these pages is not easy, and you will fight to keep your heart intact.

Aiken is living a shadow of a life. He pushes forward each day only hoping to see to another sunrise and hoping to regain some semblance of peace and contentment. When he finds his heart in the most unlikely of places, he is forced to relive his past and come to terms with his future. Melody is not ready to see much less talk to Aiken. He is everything she ran from in order to protect her heart. Now, they are both drawn into a deadly plot that promises nothing but pain and heartache. When they are forced to make a choice about their future, will they walk away for good, or will hope prove too hard to leave behind with a fight?

My heart hurt for these two incredible characters. Aiken and Melody didn't deserve to be put through the pain they endured for years, but they had to work through their fear and insecurities in a very meaningful way. They had to settle their past in order to figure out if they had a future at all. While they had no issues fighting in the battle against evil, they balked when it came to being together in order to protect their heart. Past pain was a huge hindrance to any shred of happiness for either of them. Working through that pain and not letting the other run was a huge task that neither wanted but both needed. Sometimes we have to risk everything in order to gain everything we need. The risk has to equal the goal.

A.C. Arthur is a sensational author who is a wicked creator of the most sensual, highly emotional, and deeply touching stories I have ever read. She is a genius at weaving a blistering and unrelenting journey of two broken and hurting characters who need to surrender to their heart and live by hope. I am never disappointed whenever I am able to dive into one of her incredible books. They are a soothing balm to my soul and a sweet challenge to my heart. Don't miss out on her fabulous stories of gentle love, uncompromising hope, and unfailing faith in our fellow humans.

After 80 years apart, Aiken and Mel are back in each other's lives with danger surrounding them. But the problem that separated them at the core is still unresolved and tension erupts. Will their newly rekindled fires of passion take them further than imagined? Will the issues of loneliness and abandonment release the strangle hold of misery?

Aiken and Mel are the 3rd couple to get a book in the Legion Series. The characters are awesome, great word building, steamy, romantic, page turner, easy to read, lots of action, entertaining, funny and a second chance at romance.

Aiken and Mel are dragon shifters and met again after parting ways 80 years ago. They are both tracking down a vampire shifter named Duncan that has been entrusted to release elder vampires from their graves that are to take over the world. Mel and Aiken and The Legion are having no part of that.

Aiken and Mel are both on assignment and in the same complex when Aiken spots movement along the wall and a scent that that old so familiar that he recognizes. He reaches into the wall and pulls out Mel his mate who accepts her chameleon side of being a dragon but wants no part of being a dragon. Mel has issues because her parents brought her to the US and left her when she was only 4 years old with no explanation about her dragon side. Aiken also has issues that he is dealing with when he killed fellow dragon shifters who were up to no good and children were also killed in the process.

They are both dealing with issues from their past can the two dragon shifters come together to defeat the Duncan and his minions and find their way back to a second chance in the mating game?

Kudos to AC on another great paranormal book. I love her style of writing her paranormal books are totally awesome. You don’t want miss this great book.

I sure hope that A.C. Arthur writes about Magnums who is Steele’s brother, Reese and Ziva.

Review posted to Goodreads and will be added to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and my Instagram account after or on its release date.

“‘I would’ve chosen you, Mel. Without the Selection process or any such legends, it would’ve always been you for me.’”

In Tempt the Dragon by A. C. Arthur, Mel and Aiken, dragon shifters, had walked away from each other, when Mel decided she was not going to let her drakon rule her life. So when they learned their beast forms chose each other as mates, Mel decided it was too much and walked way. They are reunited unexpectedly when they are both hunting for the same vampire for their jobs. Realizing their chances are better if they work together, they are forced to be near one another and face some of the questions they walked away from in the past.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a book I would buy and read on my own though based on the description alone. I am a sucker for second chance romance and for dragons. The book was very well written and captivating. The chemistry between Mel and Aiken was hot, and it was a couple you could easily root for. Some of the world they lived in was a bit confusing to me, but as I was preparing to write this review I learned it was the 3rd book in a series, so I am betting if I had read the other books first a lot of that would be explained. I give this book 4 full stars and I plan to read other books by this author for sure.
