Yay! It's finally time for Lucy and Connor's wedding. When characters feel like friends, it's always nice to 'visit' with them.

This was an interesting mystery involving Lucy's former boyfriend that travels with his mom to try to the upcoming wedding. When his father is murdered, Lucy starts to work to find the killer.

The one kept me reading very late into the night.

I enjoyed this book. It has an interesting mystery and story. I like the characters and how they interact. I did think this got a bit slow in the middle. I was trying not to speed forward to the ending. I was surprised by who the killer was. #DeadlyEverAfter #NetGalley

I'm a fan of this series and this latest book is not disappointing. Lucy is engaged to Connor and excited about the start of her wedding plans. To have her ex-boyfriend and his pushy mother show up at her wedding shower is not what she expected or wanted. Only the murder of her ex's father is worse.. Lucy gets dragged into the murder mystery and is unhappy about all the trouble it brings. Great resolution to the story and a good read.

I have to admit the book cover is what got my attention to read this book.
Firstly I would like to bring to attention this is a book in a series so I suggest reading those before as there are some references all along the book but you can read it without a problem not knowing what happened before. Although it made me curious what were the other stories so I'll probably read them.

The story starts with a beach engagement party for Lucy and Connor. When the brides to be ex fiancee and her mom come to crash the party it's a good sign of the story to come. When after dinner the ex fiancee's father ends up dead in an alley behind the restaurant the story turns into a real crime mystery.

It's an entertaining easy read I would suggest to everyone.

Deadly Every After is #8 in the Lighthouse Library series and the best so far. This cozy mystery series has become my favorite in its genre. Other series' characters often end up stagnant and mysteries easy to solve before the ending. In Deadly Every After, Lucy is engaged to Connor and during her engagement party, her former fiancé and his mom show up to town. When his dad is murdered, Lucy has to help solve the case and keep peace with her family and his mother.

I enjoyed seeing Lucy's life is moving forward and changes are happening to other main characters in the Outer Banks. I really enjoy when her mom comes to town and the dynamics that brings to her life. I read the book quickly because I couldn't guess the murderer. I am looking forward to the net Lighthouse Library mystery and hope that the wedding is soon!

I adore the Bodie Island Lighthouse Library Mysteries. So many of my favorite things all wrapped up together. This one was well-plotted and a great read, though I'll admit I felt Connor was a bit dismissive a few times of Lucy, which annoyed me. That aside, though, the characters I know and love (mostly) came together for an enjoyable mystery!

First book by this author and I was utterly charmed. A librarian, an engagement party, a disgruntled former potential mother-in-law and a mystery all combine into an easy to read, easy to enjoy cozy.

Fun cozy mystery. As always love the atmosphere, characters and intriguing plot. I’m a little behind on the series but this book can stand alone as well.

In the latest installment of the Bodie Lighthouse series, Lucy and Connor are celebrating their engagement, looking for a new house, and of course— trying to solve a murder. I love that we got to see a bit of what Lucy’s life was like before she came to the OBX. Of course the writing and story was wonderful, and I hope this series goes on for quite awhile. Can’t wait for the next book. A must read.

Lucy’s cousin Josie is throwing her and Connor an engagement party with their friends and family. Unexpected Lucy’s ex-fiancé and mother show up at the end. Demanding they go celebrate, the next night they go to Jakes. As they are leaving they hear a scream and come upon a waitress and a dead body. The ex-fiancé’s father. Why is he in town? Why is he dead? Who wanted him dead? All questions that Lucy can’t let go.

Book 8 of the Lighthouse Library mystery.
Lucy the Lighthouse librarian is getting married. She lives in the Lighthouse which is above the library.
Her friends throw her and her fiancee a wedding party.Of coarse things don't run smooth when her ex shows up with his crazy mother.
It wouldn't be a cozy mystery without a dead body, and a bunch of suspects. Chaos ensues. Throw in a temperamental library cat and a diva dog.

Just when Lucy thinks things at the Library are settling down and she can get on with planning her future, she stumbles across another body and this one hits close to home as it involves her old Boston life. I love that the main character is an intelligent and capable young woman who uses rational thought as well as a bit of luck to solve problems that cross her path. I might also be a bit jealous that she not only gets to live in a lighthouse, but that it is also a public library with books galore at her fingertips! The characters have so much personality and are brought fully to life, even the cat! The plot is excellent with a field of suspects to keep you guessing and a few surprises along the way to keep you intrigued!

Latest book in the Lighthouse Library Mystery series and my personal favorite so far. In the previous book Connor finally got to propose to Lucy and so this book opens with celebrations. And then some unexpected guests make an appearance:Lucy's ex-almost-fiance Ricky and his mother Evangeline. I haven't read the first 5 books in this series (and I keep telling myself that I need to remedy that) so I don't know how present these characters were in the beginning, but here they were simply hilarious, Evangeline in particular. She was determined to make Ricky and Lucy get back together even though it was during Lucy's engagement celebration. After a dinner party Evangeline's husband and Ricky's father is found dead outside the restaurant even though he was not supposed to be there at all. Suddenly the people Lucy cares for become the suspects and she has to solve yet another mystery.
Such a delight to read that I couldn't put it down. I even read at work (don't tell my bosses). I forgot to mention that Lucy also has to care for a feisty little dog called Fluffy and Fluffy's interactions with Charles were so funny and so adorable. Something happened at the end that makes me so excited for the next book. Things will change and I want to read about it now. If you haven't picked up this series you are missing out on so much fun.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great read by a new author for me. The plot is well written and enticing to the reader. The author writes in a way that makes the reader feel like part of The story.

Much Ado At The Lighthouse Library....
Much ado at the Lighthouse Library in this latest addition to the series. A wedding on the horizon, a party and a gathering of friends and family but amidst the festivities underhand scheming is taking place and it’s not long before a body appears and the amateur sleuthing begins. A fun, entertaining read and some guaranteed escapism.

Outer Banks, small-town, librarian, library, library-cat, murder-investigation, law-enforcement, lawyers, amateur-sleuth

Local librarian Lucy is living in a lighthouse in the Outer Banks and making wedding plans with her dentist/mayor/fiance Connor and going to an engagement dinner with friends and family sounds wonderful. Until it isn't. First problem is the uninvited and unwanted appearance of an old boyfriend with his mother. Then there's the unpleasant man who is a part-time resident as well as a client of the law firm operated by her father, the old boyfriend and his father. And then there's the dead body in the restaurant parking lot who turns out to be said boyfriend's father. At least the local police detective is friendly. And so the sleuthing begins, complete with awful situations and red herrings. A fast-paced, easy read.

This is the first in the series that I have read , and found it easy to understand the characters and setting without having read the previous in the series.

Lucy Richardson is a librarian at the lighthouse library Bodie Island and is engaged to the Mayor Connor McNeil. The books begins with a celebratory meal for the engagement with Lucy’s parents and family and friends. Two unwanted guests gate crash the party , Ricky And Evangeline Lewiston . Ricky is Lucy’s first love and his mother wants him to woo Lucy away from Connor so they can get married. Ricky doesn’t want this to happen and surprisingly neither does Lucy. After the meal a man is found nearby with a knife in his back , he is Ricky’s father and Evangeline’s husband. This is where Lucy begins to engage her detection skills and begins looking in to the mysterious death .

I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though I am new to the series. I found the writing descriptive , so much so that I would love to visit these fictional places. The main characters seem genuine and likeable and have depth. The book was easy flowing and easy to read and kept my interest wanting to find out who had committed the murder. There are twists and turns in the plot keeping you guessing who the murderer is , whilst still keeping the focus on the main plot.

The characters relate to one another in a plausible way and there is some light hearted humour in places, the overall style of writing and the narrative led me to read chapter after chapter , and finished the mystery in a couple of days. To summarise I found the book to be a cosy mystery with some depth and look forward to reading the rest of the series. Highly recommended.

So much went on in this book and I loved it! Lucy and Connor are engaged and when an old boyfriend and his mother crash the engagement party, sparks fly and so does murder!

This was a great book- well-written and fast-paced - that I hated to see end. The setting, in the Outer Banks, in North Carolina was wonderfully wild and elegant. I enjoyed the conversations between Lucy and her mother as well as getting to know her mother's background a little better. The library staff was funny, sweet and a little bit annoying (Louise Jane) and I got caught up in the library backstory as much as the mystery. Charles, the library cat, gains a friend (whether he wants one or not) and is his usual charming self.

Another lovely visit to the Outer Banks!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

As Lucy Richardson's family celebrates her engagement to Connor McNeil on Coquina Beach, uninvited guests Evangeline Lewiston and her son Richard arrive so the mother can make one last push to reunite Lucy and Richard. The attempt fails as neither party is interested in that outcome, however Evangeline throws a dinner for Lucy and her family before departing to return to Boston. After the dinner, a body is found of someone who has professional and personal ties with the dinner's attendees. As the police and Lucy work to solve the murder, Lucy's monthly library classic novel reading club is reading 'The Hound of the Baskervilles and other changes are taking place at the Bodie Island Lighthouse Library. An excellent edition to this cozy mystery series.

After a dinner party to celebrate Lucy and Connor’s engagement, a murdered body is found outside the restaurant’s back door. Lucy, a librarian at the local library, helps local law enforcement find the killer. After many twists and turns, she figures out who the culprit is, but not before her own life is in danger. I like that the library in this series is set in a lighthouse with Charlie the resident library cat, and every new book feels like coming back to visit friends. I look forward to new books in the series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.
