I can safely say I love every book written by Victoria James. With another addition to the Shadow Creek series, the reader gets a lovely and engaging story about two lost souls who have found each other. Great story.

My first opportunity to read anything by Victoria James and I absolutely loved it! As Finn and Melody struggle to come to terms with tragedy in their careers, nosy family members are plotting to pair them up while their holed up in a cabin in the woods. I purchased the whole series so I can go back to discover each couples' story. Great holiday romance.

Many thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for introducing me to this wonderful author. My opinion of this novel is my own.

This book was a quick read with moments of humor and romance. While it was an enjoyable read it was also quite predictable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cute read that centers around family and the holidays.

A remote family cabin . . . . a matchmaking family . . . . two people in need of healing sent there without knowing the other would be staying . . . . a chance for love or a disaster in waiting to happen?

Dr Melody Mayberry had travelled to her sister's family cabin in the mountains for some time to reflect on her life and choices. She certainly hadn't expected her firefighter brother-in-law to already be there recovering from a serious injury which nearly cost him his life. Neither wanted anyone else there but then their joint family are all planning on joining them for Christmas . . . . including Mel's very pregnant sister. However, there are snowstorms, snowmen to build, a tree and the cabin to decorate and, of course, highly competitive games to play and maybe hearts to heal and love to find?

This has some really lovely characters, and a mother who is definitely not! This is a story of family secrets, hidden guilt, a manipulator, tragedy, hope and love. It is a moving festive read that is a quick and easy read, a brilliant story to relax and escape into and a delightful family drama.

Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.

This was my first book by Victoria James ... but I’ve already got 4 others to read!
I loved it.
Great main characters.and the secondary characters have peeked my interest. I need to know their stories. LOL
This is a sweet Christmas read. The story is based on character development and interaction. Not on steamy sex scenes. But it was great.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, the rest of the series is calling.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Dr. Melody Mayberry is an OB-GYN and a very good one. Unfortunately, she’s experienced her first loss of a newborn and is now filled with self doubt. She retreats for a couple of weeks to her sister’s in-law’s remote cabin to heal and reflect. Unfortunately, her firefighter brother-in-law Finn Matthews is already there. He’s recuperating from a serious accident that almost cost him his life and his injured leg is still not 100%. Neither is very happy about the situation they fear their family orchestrated.

I’ve waited to learn Finn’s fate for some time as it’s been about a year since his life-threatening accident on the job. I never imagined him with Melody who is not only suffering from the trauma of the loss of a baby in the OR but her own awful childhood (she and her two sisters have one doozy of a mother). It’s left her questioning her self worth and contemplating leaving town and her career. These two were in a bad place as Finn wasn’t sure he’d ever recover enough to return to the job he loved. Rather than have a group pity party, they decided to make the best of it, playing board games, watching movies and decorating the cabin for Christmas. It was a lovely bonding experience and I enjoyed seeing the two discover the best of each other.

While this was a slowly developing romance, it was worth the time it took to get there. Finn and Melody came to trust each other, sharing their deepest fears and inhibitions that no one else in their lives knew about. They healed each other in the process and created a foundation for a relationship they never saw coming or sought. I really enjoyed these two, their individual stories and the romance with a holiday background that just made it even more satisfying. And, it stands alone extremely well, which is a tough statement from someone who never reads out of order.

Excellent Christmas romance story. Finn and Melody both feel the need to hide out. Once both at the cabin, they find they can share insecurities with each other. The story had family that appeared in prior books which added to the richness of the story. I would recommend this book to others!

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I voluntarily read and the reviews posted are my own thoughts and opinions.

Oooh, this is a hard one to review! Only because this was an okay book and what can you say about an okay read other than… It was okay? It wasn’t anything to write home about as they say. So this is just going to be a quick review to say that if you’re looking for a quick, fun, flirty, festive read then Snowed In With the Firefighter is just for you.

Honestly? I wish there was more to say, I really do but there isn’t.

It’s been a couple of days since I read Snowed In With the Firefighter and I still feel the same except for one further addition:

Snowed In With The Firefighter had its sweet moments, it had its sexy moments (nothing too explicit though as far as I can recall, it’s been a couple of days since I read the book) and a couple that had you believing in (hard won) happily-ever-afters – all whilst still remaining believable/realistic (but no less holiday romance-y)… What more could a reader want?

Snowed in with the Firefighter leaves you with holiday cheer and happiness. When Melody arrives and Ben and Molly's Cabin for some soul searching about her life. She never intended to find Finn there. With Finn being just as shocked they realize siblings were attempting to set them up.
With both of them trying to get a handle on their lives the end up with a family surprise and the best holiday gift of all.
Fantastic Christmas Story!

"Snowed in with the Firefighter" has everything I love about a Christmas romance. It put me in the mood for Christmas with a cabin-in-the-woods setting, Mel and Finn had lots of cute banter between them, and their deeper stories of loss and pain added depth that kept me turning the pages. The overall theme really touched my heart and this stayed with me: ...life didn't have to be perfect in order to be great. And people didn't need to be perfect in order to do amazing things.

Author Victoria James knows how to spin a story that has all the ingredients of a great romance. This is my second book by her. There's intensity of emotion in the characters and also lightness, like fun activities of choosing and decorating a tree, and everything is at a pace that makes it entertaining and memorable. I appreciate NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advanced reader copy. This is my honest opinion.

This story is about two people, Melody and Finn, who have had a rough time over the past few months. Melody is an OB/GYN who has just experienced a tragic situation with one of her patients, Finn is a firefighter who was injured on the job and is trying to heal so he can get back to doing what he loves the most. Both of these two troubled souls end up in their brother/sisters cabin in the middle of nowhere, unbeknownst to either of them, so they can hopefully come out of their funk to get back to the happiness of the season. At first I didn’t care for either one of these characters, both very self absorbed, neither wanting to deal with the issues at hand, but once they caught onto their families intent to bring these two together, things changed for me. It’s definitely an emotional situation with these two on why they are where they are at, so that was rather sad, but as the story progresses, so does their relationship. What you end up with is a very heartwarming story that brings everything back to what’s important, family.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

Snowed in with the Firefighter by Victoria James is a romance with a heavy dose of women’s fiction. Finn Matthews is experiencing what could become a life changing injury. Dr. Melody Mayberry is facing loss but hers is her self-confidence as a doctor. Her thoughts have become ones of doubt and self-questioning. However it is Melody’s relationship with her mother and siblings that takes the turn away from romance.

Victoria James always writes stories that are emotionally intense. This one follows suit. The relationship with Finn even has extended family ties. Of course, family can be messy, Melody’s has plenty of mess and baggage. For this to take place at Christmas draws attention to the family drama even more. Not your feel good cheerful kind of Christmas story. More of a realistic, this is how life really is kind of story. Melody and Fin need each other and deserve the happiness that they are trying to find. It is written so that you are pulling for them and wishing others would just go away.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really liked this cute story. I liked Finn and Melody, even though they each faced something really hard they seemed stubborn enough to keep fighting to get through it. I really liked the sisters and there relationship. I have not read any of the other books in the series so some of it was confusing but it was easy to catch up. I so want to find out what happened with the other sisters in the books for sure. I really liked that over all the author kept the story a clean read and it was a super fun and quick read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
This is a quick Christmas treat of a read. It is a romance between a fireman with a broken body and a doctor with a broken spirit, and how they help heal each other.
I love the plot of being snowed in- whether it’s a romance or a murder mystery. You can usually work out what is going to happen but it doesn’t matter- it’s the atmosphere of being snowed in and trapped that makes these stories interesting.
I have not read the other books in this series and I think in this case it has worked in my favour. I have a feeling that I might not have liked the female lead character in this book if I had met her first in the previous books. I don’t think I would have been as sympathetic to her character as this book refers to some events in the previous books that don’t paint Melody in the best light.
I found the mother character very hard to take. As a mum, I could never dream of trying to set up my children to compete against each other. I’d much prefer they helped each other when needed and had a strong friendship that raises them both up.
Overall I did enjoy this book and having a quick glance at the other books in the series, I’m certainly interested in checking them out. They all seem to have snow on them, so that makes me happy already. 3.5 stars

This was a good one to snuggle in a big blanket with because just the thought of snow gives me the shivers. Melody is in hiding so she thinks. She is not alone though even if she wanted it that way. She has to share the cabin with her brother in law. He is more messed up than she is. Finn has alot to think on because he might not be able to do what he loves anymore. They think too they are going to fake some stuff but we know what happens when people try that one. The other fun thing is watching them get caught in their own web they weave.

This holiday romance was just the ticket to get into the holiday spirit. We've met Melody from her sisters books. It was so good she got her own book to truly get to know her. I want to strangle her mother because she is such a toxic person who needs a visit from karma in my opinion. This book made me like Melody more than I thought I was going to. Finn is delicious and so perfect for Melody. The little things are what is important and make the most impact. Both Melody and Finn are at a crossroads in their lives to determine the path they want to venture on. Some family meddling and a unexpected snowstorm give these two quality alone time to get to know one another. They learn things about themselves that never saw coming. I was rooting for Melody to get a HEA because getting to know her your root for her right from the beginning. The epilogue is the cherry on top for this book. This is a must read!

Snowed in With the Firefighter is book seven of Victoria James’s Shadow Creek Montana series. All of the books are written as stand-alone titles, and I can tell you that you absolutely do NOT have to read the previous books in the series in order to read and enjoy this one. I haven’t read any of the other books, and I had no problems keeping up with the plot. At times, it did get a little confusing regarding the minor characters and how they were all connected, though. I did feel like there were enough hints to previous book plots that made me curious enough to want to read some of the other books sometime in the not-so-distant future. But there was no huge information dump or plot holes that left me feeling like I was missing something big and important to this story. And with the holidays quickly approaching, it’s a great holiday read.

NICUnurse’s Rating: This one tugged at my emotions like crazy. With both Finn and Melody reeling from unexpected losses in their careers, it hit really close to home for me. I could especially relate to Finn’s experience, which made me cry unexpectedly at times. Needless to say, I felt a very close kinship with both our hero and heroine. Not to mention, my heart broke over Melody’s childhood. I’m not a fan of insta-love stories, and most books with similar holiday-themed plots (especially this time of year) lean heavily towards it, I was more than pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t the case with Finn and Melody. Their families are heavily woven together, and they’ve known each other, at least on the surface level, for more than a few days. While I can’t say that I couldn’t put this book down, it hooked me enough that I couldn’t wait to pick it back up when I had to crash back into reality for a bit. If you’re looking for a light-hearted holiday romance, this story might be a bit heavier than what you’re looking for, but if you’re willing to hang in there, Finn and Melody’s happily-ever-after is worth reading.

I give Snowed in With the Firefighter by Victoria Jame 4 out of 5 stars!

Snowed with the firefighter
By: Victoria James

Two sad hearts healing together!

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

In this amazing book written by Ms. James we get a front row seat to Finn and Melody’s love story. Both are having a personal life crisis and want to suffer in silence. He was hurt on the job when rescuing a child and his injury requires him to take a hard look to his future if he never makes a full recovery. Melody is her own personal enemy she thinks she a horrible person and thanks to her mother and all her emotional blackmail and cruelty she doesn’t realize the amazing doctor, friend and sister she is. Together they look at themselves through the others eye and just maybe find something wonderful.

The writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shocking moments. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Authors Blurb: Dr. Melody Mayberry’s life just took a turn that’s left her questioning everything. Where better to hide out than the remote family cabin in the mountains? The last thing she expects to find there is her swoon-worthy brother-in-law, the one man who may have more baggage than her.

Finn Matthews is not ready to face the fact that the recent injury he sustained in a fire may have ended his firefighting career. He’s not interested in sharing the cabin with anyone, let alone Melody, and their family just texted with yet another unwelcome surprise they’ll be there Christmas Eve.

To keep their meddling family at bay, the two team up to fake a little holiday cheer. But between ridiculously competitive Monopoly games, marathon Christmas decorating, and a storm that strands them together with nothing but a fire and a warm couch, they realize something major their fake holiday cheer isn’t feeling so fake anymore, and that’s something neither of these two Grinches expected...

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

Sweet romance is a tricky sub genre for me, as the story and connection to and between the characters has to be strong enough to off-set the lack of on-page physicality. But Victoria James is one of those authors that has such great character development that you feel the emotions in the storytelling and dialogue more so.
Finn and Melody are a great couple, each dealing with their own issues but quickly opening up to help the other. Of course, they’re each still closed off to their own problems, which can be frustrating. While this is book seven in the Shadow Creek series, it can be read as a stand-alone alone. I think Ms. James has done a good job of filling in some background family issues that have been dealt with in other books, but its always fun to see couples who previously got together make cameo appearances.
So whether this is your first book or you e read the whole series, Snowed in with the Firefighter is not only a great holiday story but an enjoyable romance for any time of the year.
