This is a cute second change story. Small town romance for two people trying to figure out life and next steps. They crash into each other's lives again after her sister marries his brother who are trying to set them up with a long stay at their cabin. Family gets in the way but comes back to help it all.
It's a shorter novel and would make a super cute holiday movie!

Overall, 3.5 stars and 1 steam

Sometimes it's very hard to forgive ourselves for mistakes made and such is Melody's life. Not only does she blame herself for not being there when her sister Molly needed her the most, she also blames herself for what happened at the hospital. She's lost her confidence as an OB/GYN and she also doesn't like who she's become, mostly thanks to her horrible mother...with a mother like that, who needs enemies?!!!

Finn has always wanted to be a firefighter like his dad and brother and when he suffers an accident on the job, he doesn't know what he'll do now. His leg will never be 100% and he must accept that he may never be able to return to work as a firefighter.

When the two end up at the family cabin for the holidays, they realize they've been set up by their families. They hatch a plan to pretend they like each other to fool their siblings but end up really liking each other and both open up their hearts regarding their fears and insecurities. Definitely not a lighthearted Christmas story but it's still worth the read.

3.5 stars.
“Snowed in With the Firefighter”, by Victoria James (Entangled: Bliss), is a nice, emotional read with two troubled characters both going through some complicated times.
Finn is an injured firefighter, dealing with physical and psychological trauma, and Melody is a young doctor trying to cope with a fresh loss in her job.
Finn is wounded and in a lot of pain sometimes; but so caring and sweet with the heroine. I’m not sure whether Finn shifting from wounded to playful so easily felt very natural, but I did love the time they spent together and the reconnecting.
The way the author handled the injury and the recovery process was believable.
Melody’s sense of inadequacy and issues with her dysfunctional mother and the sisters’ relationship took up too much of the story for my taste, to the detriment of the romance. As Finn said, she’s too hard on herself.

Following an incident at work Dr Melody want to hide away from the world so head to the cabin owned by her sister and brother-in-law. She isn't expecting anyone else to be there, but soon finds that Finn is staying there too, recovering from an accident at work.
It is clear that their family are trying to match-make them, so they decide to try and beat them at their own game but it soon backfires as they start to fall for each other. What will happen to them when it is time to return to the real world?

A great festive read.

"Its ok not to be ok"

This is a super cute story about Melody, an OB/GYN doctor who is trying to move on from a recent traumatizing experience as a doctor, and Finn, an injured firefighter struggling to recover physically and mentally after an accident that almost cost his life. Mel's sister (Molly) is married to Finn's brother (Ben) and they both end up at the married couple's cabin as an escape from reality without knowing that the other will be there. However they both decide to stay and a cute friendship-turn-romance unfolds.

This book is part of a series, however, this did not stop me from enjoying it as a stand-alone and following the various story-lines despite not having read any of the other stories. However, I feel the reader will really get full enjoyment from the story if you have a connection to the other characters - which is where I feel I was slightly lacking. I Also felt the story was quiet predictable, but the writing style was great and I enjoyed the HEA.

Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. This is part of a series but I did not read the other books. You can mostly figure things out. Overall things I liked about the book was its setting in the cabin, - the snow, the fire. There’s a decent amount of stuff going on but something about this just fell flat to me. That being said it would probably make a good hallmark movie!

This is a holiday romance that puts Melody and Finn alone in a secluded cabin, each expecting to be alone. They are both attempting to hide from the world and nurse their wounds, Finn's physical and Melody's psychological. The book is filled with the heavy emotions of their backstories as it follows a predictable path.

I had been expecting a holiday romance, but found this was almost too heavy to be enjoyable. Normally, when I read a book by this author, I am unable to put it down. She makes me smile and enjoy the journeys her characters take, however, this one was different. The emotions and angst in this book felt so heavy that even with the anticipated ending, it was hard to smile with this book. I actually put it down several times and had a hard time picking it back up. Additionally, while this is a stand alone novel, you would really benefit from reading the prior books first, as the backstories revealed in the prior books form the crux of this novel.

Fans of the author and/or this series will want to read this novel.

Sweet xmas story about two lost souls, each facing their own demons. It may have had a predictable ending but it was a joy to get it

Sweet if predictable outcome.

This was a sweet holiday romance full of healing and finding yourself. I've only read one other book in the series but this was ok as a standalone. An easy to read story that had plenty going on as we learned about the characters backgrounds and watched them grow and start to heal and move forward.

Melody has some serious mommy issues. She is way to hard on herself because of this.
Finn knows what his body is capable of. I applaud him for making the tough decision that he does.
Snowed in with the Firefighter, is a great Christmas romance story.

A fun holiday story. Melody and Finn are both in need of some fun in their lives and their siblings have set them up. After a rough year Finn has to make a decision. Spending time together brings out the best in both of them. They have deep conversations as well as fun and games in the dark and snow. There is family togetherness and healing which is perfect for the Christmas season.

I have read many books by this author and was not disappointed with her latest book. Her books are clean romance stories. In this book Finn is a fire fighter that is trying to recover from major injuries he received on the job. Melody is an Ob/Gyn that loses her first patient and has to come to grips with not being perfect. This story includes a ton of family drama and a great lesson about doing what you love and being your best self!

When Melody was a teenager, she asked Finn to the prom., but he turned her down. Ten years later, Mel’s sister is married to Finn’s brother, so Mel and Finn are sort of family. Unfortunately, things have been sort of uncomfortable between them since he declined to go with her to her prom.

Finn has been staying at his brother and sister-in-law’s cabin during his recovery from a serious injury he suffered while fighting a fire. Without knowing that Finn was at the cabin, Mel arrives at the cabin after losing her first new-born patient. They realize pretty quickly that their siblings have set them up.

They decide to pretend that they are a couple when their family announces that they plan to descent upon them for the Christmas holiday. But what will happen to their plan if they actually start to fall in love?

This ARC was given to me by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Melody and Finn are not happy. Needing to be away from others they are invited to stay at the family cabin over the holidays. Unknown to them, at the same time. An attempt by their families at setting them up with each other. If everyone else in their family can be happy, why not them? Melody and Finn are each dealing with their own personal tragedies. It is together that they heal and learn to love themselves as they are and not who they are expected to be.

This book is part of a series and while it can be read independently, I would suggest reading the others as there a quite a few parts that I was left wondering, especially as to what happened in the past with Molly and Ben, Melody and Finn's siblings. I must say that I expected this book to be a short and quick read, since it is only sixteen chapters and an epilogue. I was very wrong. This book is very heavy as it is packed full of personal insecurities and debilitating emotions. If you are looking for a holiday romance with themes of self love and healing then this is the book for you.
