I have to start by saying that I didn't immediately realize that this was a "Sisterhood" collection book. I read many of these books a long time back, and didn't realize Ms. Michaels was still writing them. I was pleased to discover this. I did love how these books have evolved into such a tremendous network. However, as incredible and imaginative as this book was, I felt a little bit disappointed in that something feels like it was lost along the way (from the original books I read). I think it is that when I was reading them, the original girls were much more involved in the actual meat of the story (carrying out more of the "consequences"). This led to a lot of training, and risk of being searched for and caught. It's been so long since I've read these that maybe they have more of a leniency from the governments than they did before.
I loved the relationships in this book. My only reason for giving just a 4 star instead of 5 was that I felt like there was far too much of the "high fives, salutes" and other details that sort of pulled away from the story for me. It felt fake somehow. I'm referring to the many descriptions of the excitement when they would sit around the table and discuss plans, or cheer about what they'd done to the men so far. This may seem nit picky, but it just felt so corny so much of the time. For me, it took away from the strength and fun of the story. I expected them to celebrate and get excited with a job well done. It just felt like this part of things was done in a very corny and unrealistic fashion.
This book definitely had a lot more intricate details to carry out than the ones I've read before. I love how complex of "jobs" they are taking on these days. I will definitely be watching for more from Fern Michaels going forward now that I know she is continuing.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Kensington Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

I'm a big fan of the Sisterhood and always excited to read a new book in the series. 3 doctors in 3 different cities all bilking wealthy older women out of their money. Until Charlotte, who happens to be an old friend of Myra's, enter the Sisterhood. This band of vigilante women are particularly ruthless when a friend or loved one is involved. Great characters and a good storyline make this a must read book.

Everything starts out normal enough in the beginning but you just know that's not going to last long when the Sisterhood gets on the scent.
It ends up having a fair amount of traveling both for the Sisters and their "helpers". Because we are looking at 3 different locations for the doctors clinics. Dr. Raymond Corbett is based in New York. Dr. Steinwood is in Aspen and Dr. Marcus is in London. This means Avery Snowden and his team are going to have to do a lot of the surveillance ground work first. Part of his team includes two women, Sasha and Eileen doing their independent surveillance as well. This was done in depth, maybe even more than any of the other books. Not sure about that but it did seem that way. Which was okay with me.
The details in the story are good and it also seems that there is a whole lot of attention on food. Especially the meals that Charles makes, some that I've never heard of. I guess I was getting a food education too. As well as some English slang. Things that they were teaching Charlotte as well.
The ending was very satisfying because justice was served Sisterhood style. And I really enjoyed the fact that it becomes clear that the title for this book is shown to be really appropriate.

In this latest installment in an implausible but entertaining series. the Sisterhood, a group of female vigilantes, take on a trio of physicians who have been drugging and ripping off wealthy women, including their pal Charlotte. This group does applaud itself even often (note to the editors- next time fewer high fives etc.) and they also enjoy themselves. No one character stands out but they work well as a team. The bad guys are bad, the women are good, and their particular brand of justice- well over to you to decide. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A popcorn read.

Great suspense story about taking justice into your own hands.
The "Sisterhood" is a group of woman from all different realms of life that work together to do a little vigilante work and get justice for those who can't get it for themselves. This time it is Myra's lifelong friend, Charlotte, who is in need of help. Charlotte writes to Myra telling her how low she has been feeling and asking if she can come for a visit. Upon further investigation, Myra and their friend Annie, uncover that Charlotte has been seeing a "doctor" who promises his group's program gives patients longevity to their lives. What Myra and the sisterhood uncover is that Charlotte is being drugged, and the doctors are getting rich on unsuspecting woman whom they are taking advantage. But after hurting their friend, there is no way the three doctors will escape what the sisterhood has planned for them.
Great story, seemed to drag a little at times but so glad I kept reading. Love the concept of the sisterhood.

I love Fern Michael's books. The Sisterhood series, though, I have never been able to immerse myself in them. I like the concept: a group of women looking out for each other and getting even. The culprits in Bitter Pill were extra slimy and it was satisfying to see them be dealt with accordingly. I just couldn't get into this book. I have tried reading other Sisterhood books and had the same issue. I'll stick with Michael's stand alone reads.

As always the sisters are a funny and vicious group when need arise, but when it's a friend who has been taken advantage of they are just plain brutal. And it is a phenomenal read.
