Simon Ellice returns to the village where he grew up. When mysteriously old friends are going missing & dying. Theres conspiracy, poison, murder and pagan ritual. This is a mans-man book in my opinion, similar to the action adventures of James Bond. There's a lot of layers to both Simon and the story which is super fun,

Thank you to the publishers for this arc.

This read had me imagine Si with an animal light in his eyes, but could not step in the road of interest and a rush of boredom went through me multiple times.

Thanks anyway.

When I chose this ARC i didn't know what to expect as I requested it because I found the blurb interesting.
It was a great surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed.
It's gripping, well written, full of humor and highly entertaining.
Simon is an interesting character and the character development is excellent.
I want to read the other books in this series.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

The Simon Ellice Series incorperates Deadground, Go Fast, Starlight and Bloodstock by Rod Humphris. These are a set of books that are all different in their own way. Not everyone will enjoy these but I am happy to clarify, I did!
Bloodstock is the newest release and we get caught up with Simon and his life. I do think Bloodstock can be read without the rest first, but in my humble opinion, every other book gives you a feel for this man, who I can easily call an action man. I have a tendency to liken Simon to a Bond type of man.He gets caught up in allsorts constantly.
Deadground sees him in Afghanistan serving in the Army and fighting Taliban. This is written in such an authentic way, I could have definitely been there.I was so into it I wished it wasn't a Novella.
Go Fast is the first full novel Simon has starred in, this time we see him in Morrocco, getting up to no good running Hash from Morrocco to Spain in his boat, getting himself in the middle of illegal things.
Starlight we find him in Jamaica, this time spending too much time with the Hollywood set and this leads to more excitement again. This man is unshakeable, I think he is a magnet for trouble, but it does make for some exhilarating adventures.
Bloodstock sees him getting dragged in to the London's underworld to try to uncover poisonings, pagan rituals and murders. His friends go missing and turn up dead, so as Simon does, he attempts to get it all sorted.
I thought the illustrations in the books are a really unique touch. They add something to each and every book, although they aren't used as much in Bloodstock as they are in the others they still added to it.
I really highly recommend all these books for a cracking read amd to transport your way out of this Lockdown year!
Thank you to Random Things Tours and Rod Humphris for the series of the books so I could give you my thoughts today on the series as a whole.
