Although it was nice to read a standalone book about Win, called "Win" by Harlan Coben, I did find myself missing Myron Bolitar. The story delved into Win's family's past and a terrible ordeal that had happened to Patricia, his cousin when she was younger. Most of the story gripped me but I was a bit confused by the ending and didn't really believe all of the explanation.

Another amazing gritty suspense thriller from Harlan Coben. I flew through this book as I was so eager to find out the outcome.

When I started this I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. The title character is rich and privileged and to be honest the descriptions of what he was able to do because he was so rich were a little abrasive. It's not until the story gather pace about a third of the way through that you can see the relevance of this.
Win has been called to a murder scene because a painting stolen from his family has been found there alongside a bag that used to belong to him. The investigations by the FBI and the private ones made by Win lead to a tragic incident 40 years before and a family incident that happened in a the past.
The story builds quite nicely, although I did find the ending quite abrupt and hasty it's worth a read.

I really enjoyed Win. I found myself eager to turn the pages, caught up in the story so completely that I couldn’t really put it down. Coben writes taught, tightly-woven thrillers well, and Win is another great example of this. Definitely recommended!

I saw this book come up on NetGalley and had no hesitation in expecting that it would be a great read. What I didn't realise is that the character of Win has appeared before in the series of books about his friend Myron. Having really enjoyed this book, I now feel I need to read the other series!

Win is super rich. He moves in an interesting circle of friends, lovers, family and mentors (including the FBI). In this first book where Win is the central character, a dead body is found in a penthouse apartment in New York city. Gradually a series of clues point towards Win and his family and an incident that happened many years ago. The story follows Win as he travels around in his private jet, interviewing different people and putting together the pieces of the puzzle to solve the case.

There were elements of Win's personality that I didn't like. He is arrogant, sometimes violent and his attitude to women, relationships and marriage in particular is very different to my own. That said, the story was fast paced and interesting and if this becomes a series with a second book, I will not hesitate to read it.

Which was also connected in a kidnapping of his cousin heiress Patricia Lockwood twenty years ago.
Win turns vigilante to find out where the gang is as they just disappeared and even the FBI couldn’t find them. With the power of his money and flying everywhere on his private jet for meetings he slowly discovers what happened to them.

#Win #NetGalley Just finished reading Win by Harlan Coben and enjoyed the story very much. Win is the main character that takes you through the book and the investigation that he works through. There are twists and turns throughout which keep you guessing and various different parts to the story which all come together at the end. Win is quite unusual as a character but you get to know and feel familiar with him as the story unfolds. A good read for those that enjoy a mystery.

I used to regularly read Harlan Coben's novels, but this was the first book of his I've read in about 10 years.

I must say despite the mainly positive reviews for this book on here, I found the book to be disappointing. For me the real reason for this is I can't take to the lead character Win. I didn't find him quite so annoying in the Myron Bolitar books, probably because he wasn't the main character, but in this book I just couldn't take him, mainly because of the constant references to his wealth, his expertise in martial arts and pretty much anything else he takes his hand to. I personally like a character that has a couple of flaws.

I also found it hard to get into this book, mainly because the plotline never grabbed me which had an offsetting impact in that it took me ages to finish the book.

Windsor Horne Lockwood III "Win" as in the title of the book is a character familiar to those readers that read the Myton Bolitar series. When I realised that Win appeared to be getting his own series of books I was eager to read this.

Win is super rich "old money" and a very complex person. He appears to have very few morals and ethics unless it suits him and has many excesses in his life and he is not averse to violence. He is super loyal to friends and family and the reader can forgive his faults and warm to him.

The story begins with Win being called to a dead body in a New York Penthouse where property belonging to him, namely a painting and a suitcase. Another missing painting is still missing. The dead man is one of 6 missing people known as "The Jane Street Six" who were responsible for a crime in the seventies. Win feels compelled to find the other 5 member and in doing so uncovers more familial links to the historic crime and the more he discovers the more dangers he faces.

This is a twisty, violent book that draws you in. I did not read this in one day but it is one of those you easily could.

I would suggest readers read more books by this author and especially the Myron Bolitar series to get a real understanding of Win and the special relationship the 2 have although there is no need to read these before this book as this works well as a Standalone book.

This was my first book by Harlan Coben & wow, what a page turner! I thought the characters were well-written, especially the morally grey hero, Win. The plot twists and turns, and takes you on such a ride - I was stunned when the grand reveal happened, & my jaw was on the floor. I hope there are more books with Win as the main character, and I am going to have to add so many Coben books to my TBR!

I read this book not familiar with the character Win. I have only read Coben’s stand alone books but wow, this book was brilliant. So fast paced and I read it in a day as I couldn’t put it down.

When a hoarder is found dead in his apartment with a priceless piece of artwork on his walls, Win is brought into the investigation. The painting belongs to Win’s family but more than this, the dead man was on the FBI wanted list. Then comes the race to find out how the painting came to be in his possession, where did the dead mans accomplices end up and what is the connection with Win’s family?

Brilliant book and I’ll look out for more in the Win series in the future.

I was pretty excited to get this Arc and it did not disappoint! This new series with Win Lockwood is going to be good. Great story that keeps you guessing right to the end. I literally could not put the book down, but honestly that’s normal when it comes to Harlan Coban books. I really like Win, he’s got a lot of charm and he’s an interesting character. The story gives you a lot of incite into Win and his family. I can’t wait till the next novel comes out!

Confession. I've never read a Harlan Coben book before .. I can't really tell you why but I just thought they wouldn't be for me. But along with so many people during the last year, I've watched and been completely swept along by The Stranger and then found Safe .. and then decided yep, it's time I read an actual book.
And why did I put this off?? I've no idea but I do know that Harlan's writing is definitely 'for me'. Win is a complete winner!

Strange to read this book with Win and no Myron except in passing mention.
It was however a very good read,we learn a lot more about Win and what makes him tick.

It was so interesting to hear the first person voice of Win - Windsor Horne Lockwood III - for so long a strong but fairly peripheral presence in the Myron Bolitar stories. His inner life is still pretty guarded and self-censored but nevertheless it is a fascinating insight into the persona of a very rich, very flawed character. It wasn’t easy to keep track of the fast-moving cast of characters but this was a satisfying, exciting read.

I have read most of Harlan’s books and always feel excited when a new one is published. This time the main character is Win, who previously appeared in the Boulder books so we are comforted by a character we already know. The storyline starts with a reclusive character living in a restricted access apartment in a luxury block in the city centre. Win is called in to the scene by the local police and from there the book starts to develop. I won’t spoil it by explaining why but as always this was a well executed book. It’s not quite a mind baffling situation that often faces us with Harlan’s stand alone books, which I actually prefer, but nevertheless a good read.

Windsor Horne Lockwood 111 aka Win is a character that has featured in a few of Harlan Coben novels. Mega wealthy, elegant, not only fit but fierce and so many ‘qualities’- far too manyThe storyline is brilliant with twists and turns that keep you guessing. I haven’t read any Coben novels for a good few years and I now realise he has got even better and I never thought that was possible.

You’ve got to read this - I dare you not to enjoy it.

Harlan Coben is my favourite author and I have read all his books. I was really looking forward to reading Win and it was fantastic. I loved the fact that there were many references to Myron Bolitar from the previous books which featured Win.
I really enjoyed the storyline of Win, it pulled me in from the beginning and it never let go. I was completely hooked and did not see the twists coming at all.
This is a fantastic book which I highly recommend and I look forward to reading more books with Win as the main character in the future.

Although Myron doesn’t feature in this book there were lots of references to him, a bit too many in my opinion.
I found Win not altogether a believable character and at times I felt his narrative dragging. Having said that I didn’t hate this story and at times couldn’t stop reading as. Hurried to find out all the Lockwood family secrets
I’m sure many will love the story and Win but he just wasn’t for me
