Apparently I started at the end of the series. Or maybe it’s the middle? I’m not sure, it’s a little unclear.
However. Anyways.
I wasn’t a fan of the heroine. For some reason, I pictured her as a high pitched whine, and I couldn’t let go of that image. It made it very difficult to enjoy.
The men are your typical Alpha heroes. Things happened at a weird pace.
Overall, it was okay.

The writing - ⭐⭐⭐
The story - ⭐⭐⭐
Overall - ⭐⭐⭐

I hadn't read any of the other books in this series before receiving this one, and once I started to read it I felt completely lost in the plot since it kicks in immediately referencing one of the previous novels in the series. So I downloaded and read them both first, and bloody hell, I loved them.

The main character Hanna is a hot mess, but I was into it. She loves food, she lusts over forearms and whenever she meets an iconic person from history, preserved as a vampire or werewolf, she completely loses her cool and geeks out majorly. Basically she's actually relatable, and she approaches everything that's going on with an upbeat can do attitude, completely at odds with the situation usually. I found her really refreshing.

The first two books in the series were well written and funny, but this one felt rushed (for example when you find out who's been beheading the vampires it's skipped over really quickly, which I found completely bizarre) and the copy I was sent had a lot of errors in it. But Hanna's signature inner voice still cracked me up and, although some of the sex scenes got a bit flowery in this one in comparison to the previous two, I still enjoyed Cynthia St Aubin's style of writing and I'll definitely be checking out some of her other novels.

Weirdly enough my main issue with the story is the love triangle... Her choice towards the end seemed pretty obvious and I didn't feel like I was being kept in suspense. I found it incredibly frustrating that Hanna still found herself drawn to Mark when he kept keeping things from her and he became horribly possessive and jealous. Also I was annoyed that Morrison wasn't in the novel more since he was the third point of the love triangle that she'd already (jokingly) described as her 'soul mate'.

I kind of found this a little bit of a disappointing end to the trilogy, I was not a fan of the development of Mark's character, he came out sounding possessive and on the verge of emotionally abusive. Similarly Morrisons declarations of love felt a bit premature and I didn't feel he'd had enough development. But, since the end was left in an easy position to carry on, I fully expect Cynthia St. Aubin to deliver more in this series, and I'll be definitely interested in reading more about some of the other characters in this world she has created.

Fave Quote - 'If James Bond had ever seen Mark Abernathy in a tuxedo, he would have turned in his gun and cock at MI6 and become an accountant.'

Fave Moment - The bickering between Hanna and Mark about kicking a decapitated vampire head like a football...

Okay, I haven’t read any of the books in series nor have I heard of them. I was on facetime with my friend whilst browsing for ARC’s to request when this title caught my eye and I couldn’t help but laugh at the coincidence (just recently I wrote a book given the same name that will never see the light of day) I had to have my hands on this book and was so glad to be approved.

I can say, without a doubt, that this book was everything I had hoped it would be-if not more. I loved the characters, the suspenseful romance, and the writing style. I hope to read more from this author soon!

I'm guessing this series may continue after this book but this would be an okay stopping point. It would not be an okay starting point; I highly suggest reading the other two books first. This is sort of a cozy mystery (no description of the murder) series but with open door sex (you see it on the page) that wraps up Hannalore "Hanna" Harvey's romance with Mark Abernathy and her ultimate choice in whether or not she wants to become a werewolf. In this book, she meets Mark's father, a demigod, a unicorn, and many more famous people ripped from the pages of our history books. Is the world-building a little shaky? Yes. Are some of the plot points a little loose? In places. But if you're reading for that, you're not going to enjoy this book anyway. It didn't suck me in like the first book did but it still retained the zaniness and humor that other books in the series had and I really like Hanna as a character. She was a little shaky after a divorce when the books started but really grew into a woman who vacillated between two men (sort of) which normally annoys me but St. Aubin made it pretty clear who Hanna was going to end up with and followed through without too much shilly-shallying.

I am obsessed with this series... obsessed like I haven't been obsessed in a long time. I started the first book of the series, Love Bites on Tuesday and finished this books(3rd) on Thursday night. I have two young kiddos, reading 3 ebooks in two days is unheard of. I can't remember the last time I have given up sleep to read a book. I love everything about this series.

This book starts off with Hannah being stalked by famous vampires. The word is out and Hannah is yummy! Vampires are also showing up in the most inconvenient places.. with out their heads. Hannah and the rest of the gang are trying to find out who is killing off vampires and setting them up before the vampire council finds out! As with the other books in this series, Hannah shines. The storyline is interesting and I honesty didn't see the ending coming but Hannah's banter is still my favorite part. I literally laughed out loud during this entire book. My husband tried to take my iPad away because I kept waking him up.

If you haven't started this series, DO IT! I promise you won't regret it.

I had a little bit of trouble with this one. Well I didn't know that this is 3rd book in the series. And I didn't enjoyed really much. And maybe because my last paranormal romnce was ages ago, and didn't know how to take this.
It was ok read. 3 stars

The book seems to be the final chapter in the series. This was a fast paced read. I'm a bit torn because while it neatly ended the story if failed to clear up many questions on Abernathy's history and completely botched Morrison's story. I didn't like the love triangle and actually felt terrible about Morrison and would've liked a happier ending for him. I also can't say that I was a fan of Abernathy with his lying and machismo.
Wallis the glitter farting unicorn was priceless though, and there was a lot of humor and laugh out loud moments.
All in all a solid read and I would read the next book in the series if it was written.

This is my first read by Aubin. I was unaware this is book three, but it didn't matter. I had no issue jumping into the story and enjoying the characters. Aubin does a great job of filling in readers on background information without overwhelming the reader. I absolutely adore the writing style. The story was such a light, fun read. I will definitely need to look into the first two books in the series.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC and the opportunity to read and review Love Lies.

A fitting end to an enjoyable trilogy. While book three wasn't my favorite of the series I found it fun and it was good to revisit all the fun characters. With each book the campiness has increased and I wish it had stayed similar to the first book but I still really liked it and would recommend this series, and certainly this author, to anyone fans of this genre.

This book will keep you guessing until its final chapters. It had me glued to the pages into the wee hours of the morning.

Cynthia St. Aubin is a gifted storyteller. She pens exquisite descriptions and witty dialogue, applying humor with an artist’s expert brushstrokes. Her attention to detail engages all of a reader’s senses.

Like the first two books of the series (be sure to read them in order) this one has a lot going on. Of course there are the werewolves and vampires, but there is also a wedding, a pregnancy or two, some international travel and some bombshell revelations. Longtime St. Aubin fans are sure to be thrilled by the crossover of characters from another of her series as well.

St. Aubin’s wit and charm are unmatched. This one had me laughing repeatedly.

“At this, he cast a meaningful glance at me. I resented the ocular implications of mistrust.”

Will she see in time what he tries to hide ...

Finally the last installment in this series. I laughed at the antics of the many protagonists, the author has such a way with words, they flow like a stream in a fury under a raging storm.
I loved the banter, quips and silly teasing between the characters, all crazier than the last.
Separately I loved Hanna, Mark and even James, but I felt like the story was running in circles and riddles for most of the book, him tight lipped and she stubbornly blind and deaf. Plus I am not found of love triangle as there is always one left with a broken heart.

One thing is sure, you are in for a ride in this last installment.

The end is quite perfect as it brings finally Mark and Hanna together in the best romantic way possible but what an epic and crazy tale in between. With a wedding to plane, vampires loosing their head, ex-suitor in love, unicorn farting sprinkles, some crazy emperor in the lose, there is no time to thing just follow the flow.
I would just have liked for Mark and Hanna to sort out their different a bit earlier in the story even if the end was very much moving.
3.75 rounded up to 4 stars

I was granted an advance copy by the publisher Oliver Herber, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

As the last book in this series I was expecting another great read. I was disappointed that this book just didn't meet my expectations. It lacked the same depth the first book had and it just didn't work for me. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

2.5 Stars
Well, I loved the first book, liked the second, but this one unfortunately was just okay for me. Hannah annoyed me. She ran to James every time without any regard to Mark. The thing with Wally was too over the top for me. I guess it was supposed to be funny. The action part of the story seemed to be an afterthought to Hannah’s waffling. And the resolution for both the romance and the action was all tied up neatly in about three pages. While I was invested enough to finish the book it just wasn’t a winner for me.

Aaaah this was so cute and such a great conclusion to this romcom trilogy. I remember that I was very disappointed by the first book and said I wouldn't be reading the rest when they came out... I'm so glad I did though! This trilogy is definitely not among the best books I've ever read, but it's in the top 10 of funniest series.

Writing style: Aubin's writing is great. It's like your talking to your friend about the most ridiculous thing that's ever happened to you and you're on the floor from laughing so much you fell over.

Characters: Hanna's humor is so dry and god, I can't help with read this entire book with a giant smile on my face.
It's very refreshing to read a series where the human (Hanna) doesn't want to become a supernatural and wants to know everything before she makes the final decision. And the wolf is also fine with it, he gave her time, he was impatient and wanted her to accept her heritage already, but still he waited.
And God, their chemistry was off the charts. Whenever they were in the same scene I could just see the sparks fly off the page.

Story: The plot of this book was a bit wonky and a bit too fast pacdd for my liking. It was still a fun read though! I just wish it was put together a little differently.

Yep, I really enjoyed this book and I'll definitely be checking out more of Aubin's books, because I just love her writing style and humor. Three stars for Love Lies.
