I loved this tender-hearted book. Three sisters are reeling from the loss of their beloved grandmother, and when they go back to her house in the small town where they grew up, they realize she left a quilt unfinished. So as they work through their past, secrets, and personal hurts, they work together to finish the quilt. Yates did such a great job crafting these characters. They each bring something different to the table, and they each have to work through different things, from anger and bitterness to shame and misunderstandings. This was such a well-written, poignant story, and I would highly recommend it!!

This story of sisters and the importance of family will be enjoyed by readers of women’s fiction and those who are already fans of this author. It is an easy and absorbing read.

Meet three sisters (and their mom) who have come together following their grandmother’s death. Lark, Hannah and Avery all have their own backstories and challenges. They have come to their small town to complete their grandmother’s quilt and in the process will learn so much more about themselves and each other.

This is a book with characters for whom readers will care. They will also I think enjoy the small town setting.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for this title. All opinions are my own.

A wonderful heartwarming read that I highly recommend. Fair warning though the ending may cause tears to well up in your eyes because it does pull at your heart strings a bit.

I loved the idea of this story, as a quilter, but I struggled a bit to really get into it. That is odd for me. I love Maisey Yates' stories. It was interesting to see the family dynamic that was in this story. I could see where that happens in real life, that while everyone talks to one another, they don't really talk, they don't tell their truths, or their secrets. They're all stoic around one another. I felt sad for how Hannah and Avery treated Lark for the longest time. They didn't really seem to give her credit. When I learned her truths, my heart broke. I have been where Avery was with her truth, and I kind of got Hannah. Mary made a whole lot of sense once journals were found and truths game out there about grandma. I could relate to each of these characters for different reasons, which is why I was so puzzled by my strugles early on The dynamics between Hanah, Avery, and Lark were each different between the pairs. What happens when their truths are out there? Read and see!

So much to learn about each character in this story about discovery and secrets. Everyone has secrets. Some to protect themselves and sometimes to protect someone else. And each person has a history. In CONFESSIONS FROM THE QUILTING CIRCLE by Maisey Yates we turn each page to discover something remarkable about each character. Their interpersonal relationships are the cornerstone of their lives.

The goal of this group of characters is to rediscover important events of their lives and how their choices affected them. The quilt is a vehicle for that discovery. It is also a means to reconnect them.

Women and their mothers are a central theme in CONFESSIONS FROM THE QUILTING CIRCLE. Through the imagery of Maisey Yates we meet some amazing women past and current. The source of the details, facts and events are pretty simple. Diaries and scads of odds and ends. The diaries provide intimate details of some women whose lives had passed through this area. The odds and ends are remnants of items that had personal meaning to them. The odds of matching the items to the stories seem impossible and yet page by page we uncover more important details.

These women seem random, but you come to realize their connection is vital and revealing.
Three sisters are reunited in their hometown with the passing of their grandmother Addie. Their mother Mary is there as well. The sisters had quite a different relationship with their mother and grandmother, and we learn why. There are many secrets that had been amassed over generations that are now being exposed layer upon layer. The simple task of completing a quilt takes on quite an enlightening event for all these wonderful women. Maisey Yates takes us on a voyage to discovery just what makes each woman tick. The author paints a beautiful picture with a plethora of colors and textures in CONFESSIONS FROM THE QUILTING CIRCLE.

Quote from Hannah “Get down off the Cross, we need the wood.” This is quote will stay with me. *Smiles*

Lark the baby child, an art Illustrator, a free spirit child. What her family doesn’t know is that Lark has her own secrets that had her leaving home, for keeping her away from the ones she loves. Can she mend those fences?

Maisey Yates gives us An powerful, emotional journey for the Ashwood family. For all of them to do a self discovery of themselves and their decisions. Can you really come home again? The journey of these four amazing women is anything but easy, challenging for sure, tearful without a doubt, healing in the most wonderful ways. I could not put Confessions from the Quilting Circle down. To know the story of the past, present and future of the quilt pieces was priceless. I often loved the time where I spent with my Nan listening to the stories of what each piece of the quilts she made meant, and the stories behind them.

An emotional tale of family secrets and the ties that bind a family. A moving story of a woman who returns home and rebuilds her family by finishing a family quilt.

Another beautiful read where a quilt caused the women in the family to come closer. The Ashford women were a class of their own. With the death of the grandmother, the women discovered an unfished quilt and it was up to the women to finish it.

But nothing was as simple. The origin of the quilt’s pieces led them to old secrets and everything seemed to unravel until they were patched up. This was a powerful story from author Maisey Yates, where the sisters and the mother learned the truths about their family.

Many issues were dealt with, but Ms. Yates writing brought them out in a sensitive manner. I liked how all them moved forward with strength, facing their pasts. The diaries of their ancestors held the key that taught them to believe in love and forgiveness.

A story poignantly written touched my heart. Shades of love and romance were also present, but the core was beautiful contemporary tale about family. The secrets that shocked me down the pages were just the icing over the cake.

This was an enjoyable book of three daughters and their mother coming together to heal past wounds. Each woman has a closely guarded secret, and it isn't until they find the strength to tell the truth that they're able to live a fully realized and happy life. Not only is this book about moving on from past wounds, but about forgiveness, learning to love again, and realizing that you're never too far gone that you can't come home. Each chapter starts with a diary entry, and it's fascinating to see how these stories are reflected in the current storyline and how they all come together in the end. Overall, great storytelling with a lot of heart.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The death of their grandmother, Addie, brought the three sisters home to Bear Creek, Oregon. As they sort through boxes finding a sample book of materials for a quilt and old diaries and letters, they discover familyhistory of which they didn't have any knowledge or were afraid to ask. What they learned about their ancestors helped them to release their own hidden situations during their evening quilting sessions.
A thoughtful tale of life,. each chapter begins with a blurb from the diaries and then the story is narrated by one of the sisters [Avery, Hannah, Lark] or their mother, Mary.. Read, would be a good book group read.

I always enjoy Maisey Yates and her stories about family. Three sisters return to their roots when their grandmother dies. My favorite sister is Lark. She and her sisters are bequeathed an unfinished quilt. Finishing it could be the reason Lark’s been looking for to stop running from the past, but is she ever going to be brave enough to share her biggest secret? Sister Hannah plans to leave immediately but runs into an old flame. Can he convince her to stay. And finally Avery who everyone thinks has the perfect life. A wonderful story that brings the sisters together while revealing a family secret in the form of an old diary. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

When children grow up, it is easy to drift in different directions. With out fidelity and understanding, we find it easy to judge what we don’t fully comprehend. So is the tale of Confessions From the Quilting Circle. Sisters who as they grew, grew apart. One a free spirit, another a competitive, driven musician, and the third a perfect housewife and mother. They come together to settle an inheritance and estate, but in doing so find each other.

There are so many stories being told around the quilting circle. It has taken the death of their Grandma to bring the sisters together again. They had a better relationship with their Grandma than their mother had with her. As the are cleaning out the attic, fabric and diaries are found. They decide to complete a quilt that is described in a scrapbook using all the found material. Each woman is struggling with personal secrets. As the secrets are revealed the healing begins. Add in old boyfriends, job changes, domestic abuse, life choices and create new life paths. I had never read a book by Maisy Yates before receiving a free ebook copy from Netgalley. Now I want to read more. I recommend reading and savoring Confessions from the Quilting CIrcle.

A heart-warming and emotional tale of love, loyalty, renewal and starting over, Maisey Yates’ latest novel Confessions From The Quilting Circle is a must-read for fans of RaeAnne Thayne and Robyn Carr.

The death of their beloved grandmother brings the three Ashwood women back together again. Having never had much in common, Lark, Hannah and Avery haven’t spent a lot of time together in the last couple of years, but their grandmother’s death forces them to return back to Bear Creek and to stop running from past secrets and vanquish the old ghosts that continue to persecute them and torment them. Lark has spent a lifetime running away from the truth, but dare she finally find the courage to face up to the past and share with her family the secret that has been weighing so heavily upon her shoulders?

Hannah cannot believe that she is back in the town she had done her utmost to escape from. Hannah might be back in Bear Creek, but she does not plan to stick around for long. She will help her sisters renovate her grandmother’s house and leave town as fast as her feet can carry her. However, the best laid plans do have a habit of going awry as Hannah discovers when she comes face to face with a man from her past she has never quite managed to forget…

Stay at home mom Avery’s life is as close to perfect as it is possible to get – or so it seems. Her perfect life has come at a very high price, but as she finds herself at a crossroads, she realizes that she is going to need her sisters more than ever as she decides to face the music and to find the courage to fight for the life she truly wants.

Like the unfinished quilt they find at their grandmother’s house, the Ashwood girls will stitch the ripped fabric of their family back together – one truth at a time.

Having read and enjoyed many of Maisey Yates’ contemporary romances, I was looking forward to Confessions From The Quilting Circle, the first women’s fiction novel of hers I read, and I was not disappointed. Written with warmth, flair and heart, Confessions From The Quilting Circle is a poignant, uplifting and dramatic tale about the ties that bind, the bonds that break and the secrets we keep which will keep readers glued to the novel’s pages.

In the Ashwood family, Maisey Yates has created three beautifully drawn characters who are flawed, nuanced and believable.

A wonderful read from a very talented writer, Maisey Yates’ Confessions From The Quilting Circle is a fantastic read women’s fiction fans will thoroughly enjoy.
