The Addicted Child by Richard Capriola was an excellent read. I found this book a great source of information throughout, it's all about substances etc being used by today's adolescents. The process addictions which accompany substance abuse, for example; self-harm, eating disorders etc. This book helps parents etc that they have choices and other ways to help their child.

This book will also be great for the social workers, teachers, grand-parents, siblings, foster parents etc

One thing I liked about this book by Richard Capriola, thats is full of great and very helpful facts and based on real people not from a texted book. It will be a very helpful guide for all who needs guidance for today's adolescents that need guidance.

I highly recommend this Book.

Trigger warning: Substance abuse

Are you a point where you are at your wits end with attempting to understand or work with your adolescent through their substance abuse? Are you a beginner in the social work field? This book is a must have. The author takes the time to approach, bring understanding, and define the world of substance abuse among adolescents. Research, real life situations, and statistics open the readers eyes to an abuse that is misunderstood, peer pressured, and easily accessible. I will be adding this to my library and using it often. 5 stars.

Very interesting read. I must admit, I didn’t really know much about addictions and it’s really educated me. I’m sure if anybody had suspicions about somebody using a substance the information would be included in this book.

I did feel that it was aimed more for the American market but still had plenty of information for elsewhere in the world

It was an interesting book. Sometimes with easy to understand concepts, some others with more information than needed. I liked that it point out some signs to be observe in tennagers with substance abuse. I think it lack information in some other subjects, such as gaming addiction and self harm it was already a great thing that it had a chapter that address such situations, but I felt it wasn't as extensive as it should have being, considering the high frecuently it seem to be having lately.
I was very interested on the mention of treatment, mostly because the big difference in oportunities of it, that can be watch around the world.
Overall it was a good book, with some basic imformation, useful for guarians and parents.
