Hunted is Dark Fantasy, Vampire Lit, Romantic and Contemporary Fantasy.⁣

I found it to be well written, unique in its story and given beautiful cover art.⁣

In this story, the reader is introduced to a world where vampires are a very big part of reality. They are, in essence, treated as second rate citizens and suffer from centuries of stigmata. With an ever decreasing population, some clans resort to creative ways to recruit new members and Edith's clan is no exception. Her clan is hosting a Vampire Role Playing camp for the weekend. During this time, she and her people hope to recruit new members by showing them how the other side lives. Everything is expected to run smoothly, that is, until two brothers arrive.⁣

There were several elements in this story that I thoroughly enjoyed.⁣

Unique storyline and a reinvention of the vampire mythos are at the very top of that list. The authors were able to breath life into the vampire genre by introducing new concepts such as the death of a vampire after turning 7 people and the reflections of their victims in mirrors. The characters were likable and complex in nature and the plot line was propelled forward by interesting twists and turns. I definitely look forward to continuing with this story in book 2.

This didn't really do it for me. I felt like some of the concepts were from back in the stone age and the characters were not that much fun to read about.

It just wasn't right for me personally which of course doesn't mean it's not right for someone else. I wish the book the best of luck!

Even if it's the type of story I usually like this one wasn't for me and it fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This book didn't quite keep me as engaged as I'd hope. I'm not sure exactly why, it just felt a bit flat to me. But it may work perfectly fine for someone else.

After seeing alot of great reviews of this book i was sort of hyped up for it. But this really missed the mark for me. I didn`t feel the chemistry between Darren and Edith, and his conversation with Hope and Angel were just really awkward. Darren was also kind of cruel how he mentioned Daniel and stuff, just because he did not get laid. I just didn`t like the characters together. Meh.

Vampires that recruite at things that seem like comic cons because their race is being abolished by hunters
Hunter and vampire fall in love.
I cant tell if there will be a second book it seems like there should be

I’d like to take a moment to thank the publishers and netgalley for an arc in exchange of an honest review.

The idea originally hooked me in for the first 5%, but quickly I became incredibly bored and irritated. I’m not sure how most refugees would feel about someone changing their original names either. Probably a bad move.

Generally Edith was an interesting character but Darren felt flat and uninteresting. I’d rather not read from his perspective at all and quickly lost all interest in the novel. Too much meandering and thought process with little movement or action.

Humans and Vampires live and know about one another, but still have a tenuous relationship. Vampires receive donated blood through Red Cross rations and most clans yearn to live peacefully among humans. However, to prevent going extinct the vampires must have willing recruits. Edith is a one hundred year old vampire belonging to the Heartsong Clan. This weekend she is running a recruitment event, a live action role playing event of Vampires vs. Humans. When Vampire Hunters Dan and Darren Paxton sign up for the event, things go off script. Mr. Heartsong takes the opportunity to use Dan Paxton to set an example for all Hunters. Edith becomes tangled in Dan and Darren's situation and must make a choice between her clan and the humans that link her to her past.

Hunted is a fast-paced new adult paranormal romance. I was intrigued by this setting in which humans knew vampires existed and vampires had a very different set of rules than I was used to. These vampires can go out in the daytime, eat normal food and most importantly, can die after they have changed seven people. I was pulled into the story by Edith's backstory and how she was turned by Mr. Heartsong. From there, the story alternates between Edith and Darren's points of view. I liked seeing how a vampire and hunter viewed one another. This was a shorter story and moved quickly, I didn't get a good feel for Darren's or Dan's characters, but the glimpses into their backstory helped. I knew where Darren and Edith's story was going to go from the moment they met, although I'm not sure how I really feel about their romance yet, especially since things progressed so quickly and under extreme stress. The story ended rather abruptly and on a huge cliffhanger which makes me want to keep reading just to see what will happen next.

This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

A book full of Adventure, Lust and Danger.
This book ends on a partial cliffhanger and it's left me more than eager to read the next installment.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, it's nowhere near as violent or gory as some of the vampire books I have read and the sexual scenes are tastefully written not as explicit as some I have read.
I really enjoyed the fresh twist on vampires ie, the mirror and seeing the souls they have killed and how some vamps when killed are not turned to dust. I also enjoyed the recruitment plot it was a different spin for me, not like anything I have personally read before.
I finished this book last night and it was so good!! I loved the enemies to lovers element and also what connected these characters. I loved how delicate our heroine was and her protective streak, as well as our hero's towards his brother! I also appreciate the diversity in this book and how it was all about acceptance and love. If you're craving to read a light paranormal story, this is the one you should choose
This book is nothing but amazing, full of adventure, the characters were so awesome, the story was like nothing I have read before.

In HUNTED by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk, Edith is a grieving woman who became a vampire in the early 1900s to do good in the world. In the present day she is working to recruit people who want to be turned into vampires.

The vampire mythology has a bit of a pacifist side to it, but they are by no means harmless. I like the idea of vampires and humans working together to fight for Vampire Rights and Women’s Rights. Of course, not everyone is thrilled with vampires being in the world. There are Hunters who will kill a vampire just for being undead. Edith and her clan meet two young hunters while engaging in a LARP that will hopefully help recruit new vampires. The catch isn’t that they’re hunters, it’s that they are actually related to Edith’s long dead fiancée.

I thought the storyline was woven with a nice mix of mystery, suspense, and romance. I was a little surprised with the romance aspect, but it helps move the story and adds to my anticipation of the next book. There is some violence and sex, but neither are too graphic.

I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley and am leaving my honest review voluntarily. I will be adding this review to my website EveHallows.com.

I haven’t read anything by Sarah Binglow and Molly Zenk before and I loved Hunted.

Hunted is a fresh take on the classic vampire story which was very interesting to read. This book has of course vampires and vampire hunters

The characters where so interesting. The family bond between Dan and Darren reminds me of the bond between the Winchester brothers from Supernatural. Edith is an interesting woman and I loved her background and her involvement throughout the story.

Hunted’s world is amazing and both Binglow and Zenk did an amazing job creating the world. It is is a fast paced story and doesn’t leave you waiting for things to happen.

Overall I loved Hunted and I look forward to reading more from both Sarah Binglow and Molly Zenk.

I really enjoyed this book. At the start I felt it was a bit flat and I was feeling a bit unsure of how this book would be. But after the initial few chapters the story picked up and I read it in one sitting. I loved the characters, I really liked how the authors actually made some of the vampires still human, that even though they are immortal, they still had their old human life too. Edith and her 2 daughters, I adored. They all valued human lives and in vampire books sometimes you don't always get that. They're not always blood sucking evil monsters. I absolutely adored Darren, I could just picture him as a full blown bad boy, all in leather but with a heart of gold. He went into the vampire clans house hating them, and ended up falling in love with Edith. There chemisty from start to finish, was HOT! I really loved the little mention of gay representation, and I hope this will be brought up more and you see more of this relationship developing.
The best part of this book, is it didn't lose any speed, any plot. I love how it ended not as a happy ending, but instead the beginning of a hunt. I really can't wait for more of this series, and to have more of all the main characters in my life and to dive into there lives more.

This was a great journey and I loved the plot, but everytime I read this, I remembered the vampires diares, but this is a little bit much

Edith lost her loved one and she wanted to take her life. Someone offered her to live her life as a vampire and do it for her old love's sake. Now one hundred years later, she's the 'mother' of two sisters and they try to recruit more vampires to their clan. They are peaceful and try to show that not all vampires are the evil ones.

Darren and Dan are siblings and vampire hunters. Dan has vampire friends and goes to this roleplay weekend and Darren as the overprotective older brother, follows Dan to the vampire's den, to keep an eye on him. He didn't expect that they had connections to the beautiful vampire hostess or that they would face a life or death test.

I finished this book last night and it was so good!! I loved the enemies to lovers element and also what connected these characters. I loved how delicate our heroine was and her protective streak, as well as our hero's towards his brother! I also appreciate the diversity in this book and how it was all about acceptance and love. This book was okay but it felt too much like a typical vampire romance novel. There was nothing new to enjoy in it and the genre has really been played out.

Hunted is a fantasy full of vampires but it's nothing you would expect it to be though.

The main character Edith has been a vampire for a century now. She made the choice when she faced the loss of her beloved fiancé Daniel. It was either suicide or becoming one of the undead.

She turned only two people to join the vampires in her whole existence and that are her daughters Angel and Hope. The only reason she chose this life is to have more time to do good in the world to honour her beloved Daniel.

Her whole life changes unexpectedly on what was supposed to be a normal recruitment weekend for humans who might wanna join the vampires.

She meets two Hunters but it's nothing like she expected as she finds herself caught in her past when strange things start to happen during the weekend and she has to decide who's side is she really on.

Let me just say I am not a lover of vampire books. I'm really not. But I loved this one!
There was a lot of action and I think there wasn't one page that I didn't enjoy. It was a speedy and intense reading experience for me.

The main plot seemed unusual to me and I wasn't too sure about what's going to happen. I found myself falling in love with characters that I hated at the beginning and that's always a good thing in a book!

There was a few moments that Edith acted a little illogical in my opinion but that's really just a matter of a personal opinion.

I highly recommend this book if you're looking for a short book filled with action.

Also I am definitely in need of reading the next books as this is not a standalone.

With all that said:

4/5 ⭐

this was a great scifi novel, the characters were great and I really enjoyed going on this journey. The cover is great and it's what drew me in.

Hunted follows the POV of Edith, a vampire, and Darren, a vampire hunter. I was drawn in from the first page, wondering how the characters got to where they were. But at times the writing was robotic, sentences weren’t concise and it didn’t flow organically, so it was at times distracting. The vampires pretending to be humans pretending to be vampires was written a tad poorly. There were some holes in the plot, I thought it jumped and only briefly touched on potentially important moments.
The 300 year old antagonist was written quite juvenile. His “master plan” was quite flawed and how things escalated the way they did was confusing.
Either way, I liked the book and there was a good level of suspense. But there wasn’t anything I loved about it.
Thank you to NetGalley, the authors and publishers for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
