I was provided an advanced copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a guided journal with watercolored pages that prompt one through self-discovery. This is truly a beautiful journal, with pages of wonderful prompts and both inspiring and thought-provoking quotes. However, there isn't much to distinguish this from the gamut of guided journals that have recently flooded the market.

Just enough art among the space to add in your own reflections to make this a lovely experience in self-exploration.

Very pretty, not as full as one would hope but the language used is powerful. It’s a very “wreck this journal” style journal and would be lovely for people working through improving self-love, battling depression, healing trauma etc

I love the look of this book. It looks like watercolor paper with watercolor images. The book has the following headings.

I am.
I feel.
I do.
I love.
I speak.
I see.
I understand.
I trust.
I act.

Each one of the topics have relevant positive images and sentiments. There are places on each page to include personal entries, photos and ephemera. It is a beautiful book and I highly recommend it to anyone.

This is another lovely journal from Elena Brower. Much like her Practice You Journal, she weaves gorgeous watercolor art with inspiring words and thoughts to help you delve deeper into your self. It explores various themes and encourages mindful self-acceptance, healing, and growth. This would make a lovely gift for a friend. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy. I will probably be purchasing this to add to my other collection of Elena Brower yoga books and journals.

While this was beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully composed, I would have liked to have seen more probing questions and opportunities for interactive contemplation throughout. It seemed as if the journal part of this was secondary to its function as an art piece or meditative collection of quotes and illustrations.

I loved the textured paper and watercolors. I think this book is beautiful in a very understated way, which I found very conductive to meditating deeply into the themes depicted. I felt like sometimes the prompts came into conflict with the graphic elements, simply because it was not always clear if a page was meant to be filled by the reader or not. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it could be a positive because it encourages you to write no matter the graphic elements. It makes you feel like you can write whenever you want to in the book, which is a good thing. It stimulates creativity and makes this journal more personal. Overall, I really liked this book. It was really beautiful.

This is an absolutely beautiful journal. Very visually appealing and the writing prompts are thought-provoking. The only thing that keeps me from personally rating it higher is that is it so secular and doesn't lend itself to a Christian approach.

"Being you" is the perfect journal to keep in this period. It suggests reflections that need you to introspect in a deeper way.
I loved the choice of colors and the creative watercolors. Despite being colorful, they were very relaxing!
What's more, the quotes, that were not present in each page, were always perfect - in the right place at the right moment. The organisation of the book and its graphics are impeccable.

Being You, a journal by Elena Brower is a gorgeous journal that features affirmations, quotes, and journaling prompts which encourage self-discovery. I really loved the beautiful watercolor art and lettering featured throughout the journal. Some of the topics include inspiration, harmony, compassion, grace, humility, emotions, and boundaries. This would be such a wonderful journal to start at the beginning of the new year and would make a lovely gift. If you are looking for a journal to incorporate into your self-care routine, I highly recommend this one as it is both visually appealing and provides helpful prompts to explore.
