Being You is a georgeously illustrated, very aesthetic journal for a more mindful self.

They say you can journal anywhere, say scraps of regular lined paper, but this doesn't work for me. I struggle to keep a consistent practice of journaling anyway, so I definitely need some encouragement to keep me going. This something to me means having an aesthetically pleasing, or honestly bougee journal which makes me feel inspired and fulfilled.

Being You is exactly this type of journal. It's filled with elegant watercolor art and 'handwritten' quotes and prompts. Every page looks completely different which keeps my mind going instead of getting bored of a pattern. In addition to the watercolor texture, the colors themselves are a true feast for the eyes.

The only thing I would have loved more of is a number of pages to write in. Free writing, or alternatively pages with bits of art only, are always really useful.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Being you is a stunning Journalling book about learning about yourself and enhancing empathy and empathic behaviours through self reflection.
Each page is stunningly designed featuring watercolour artwork. Each page is beautifully set out and has Journalling promts/questions for you to ponder and reflect upon.

I received the pdf version of this book but would have loved to have a physical copy as writing down on a pad my thoughts, feelings and responses to the areas in this book wasn't as nice or encouraging as writing in a physical copy.

Beautiful journal. Beautiful pages, although I read the digital version. It would be a great book to own and write it. Great prompts and ideas. Fun, charming, soothing.

More beautiful than the last, Elena has done it again. The art is more soulful, the colors more mature — it’s a creativity inducing journal that is a great guide to explore the self or to gift to your conscious friends and family. Although this is a digital review, I can attest to the quality of paper which it’s printed on, that allow for a wonderful writing and drawing experience.

How frustrating is it to be told by all the different sources the things you must do to be successful in life? This book definitely does NOT do that. It instead takes an empathetic approach and gives bite size approaches and allows you to have kindness and patience with yourself when dealing with life. This is so necessary for everyone to read in life. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My first Elena Brower book was her previous journal-style book like this one, Practice You. I loved that journal dearly and enjoyed writing, reflecting, and growing through its pages. This one, Being You, is similar, but, in my opinion, even better. Like her first, Being You is a series of prompts, quotes, sayings, words, and imagery which will spark self-reflection and invoke self-discovery. The pages and artwork are beautiful; you feel inspired to fill them with your words. I highly recommend Being You to anyone looking to dig a little deeper into themselves, and/or as a part of your self-care or daily journaling practice. Just lovely.
