I really liked this book! Jennifer Beckstrand has another winner. When you put Amish, quilt, and baby in the title you have my interest.

Esther and Ivy are estranged sisters. The story opens with Esther getting settled in her new home when her sister arrives one night with her baby in tow. In the morning Esther finds a letter from her sister stating she is leaving the baby with Esther. Later that day, Levi comes to work in the bathroom but is greeted by a screaming baby and a frantic Esther.

Do you or a friend have a family member that just doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the family? This book is thought provoking in this area. There are some good ideas to help all members of a family feel comfortable together. I hope you like it as much as I did.

Esther has moved to Colorado for a fresh start after her parents' death. She has settled into her house with her quiltmaking business and has made friends. One day her sister, who has been away from the faith for years, shows up with a baby and leaves the baby with Esther. Esther soon finds herself overwhelmed. Levi, the young man renovating her bathroom, realizes Esther needs help and asks his grandmother to help Esther. Settle in for a wild Amish ride of laughter and tears.

Oh my, I have found a series that is as much fun as the Huckleberry series by Jennifer Beckstrand. I love the quirky characters she creates. This book has its serious moments but plenty of laughing moments as well.

In book one of the Amish Quiltmaker, we meet Esther and Levi. Esther is hilarious between her apricot throwing and the things she puts behind her ears. "You just never know when you are going to need that item!" Levi is the perfect match for Esther in his calm manner and ability to see things from all perspectives. He reminds me of my hubby.

A fun book to read for ages teenage and above. A clean read. I listened to a bit of the audiobook and the narrator is wonderful. She really captures the essence of the characters.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Kensington, through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This is a great Amish story with several storylines to follow. The characters have unique, loveable personalities. I enjoyed following each character's part in their common story line. This is a great read and I found once I got into the story lines I couldn't put it down!

I love how absolutely vibrant this author's characters are! Esther is strong and independent, but the new challenge of caring for her sister's baby brings all her frustrations and insecurities to the surface. Levi was in the right place at the right time to come to her aid, and I loved seeing his friendship with Esther develop and how his opinion of her shifted. I think my favorite mannerism of Esther's was her tendency to throw and attack things in order to work out her rage and anger. It's definitely not what a person thinks a typical Amish reaction would be! The situation she finds herself in is very realistic, with conflicting emotions of love and resentment for her sister. Her quilting friends are full of personality and an important source of support for Esther. I was glued to the pages as Esther's life and future takes a complete 180 and Levi get taken along for the ride. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

I must confess that Jennifer Beckstrand is one of my favorite Amish genre authors! This book, the first in her new series, was not a disappointment.....I LOVE IT!!! When you find yourself laughing, in the early pages of a book, you know it is going to be a fun read!

Esther Zook, moved to Colorado, after her father died. She bought a small house, just big enough for her and her quilt business. She is starting over as a 3o year old "maedel". But she is satisfied with her life.....UNTIL....her sister, Ivy, who has been gone 8 years, returns and she is not alone!!! She has an infant daughter, Winter, but no husband. As life would have it....Ivy leaves one night and Esther is left to take care of a baby. Esther has no baby skills and latches onto the first person who comes through her door, that morning to assist in changing Winter's full diaper....Levi Keim, a contractor that has come to fix her bathroom!!

Now, the fun begins, but as we all know, fun is usually tempered with serious life altering issues and there are plenty of those, in this little house. But as life would have it, Levi becomes a person who not only can change diapers, he can teach Esther to remodel her bathroom. After all, every old maid needs to know plumbing!!! Levi draws a line, though, when Esther wants to use his power tools!!

Levi, a single Amish man, is being sent to Ohio, by his father, to find a suitable wife. As time goes on, and Levi, becomes more involved in Winnie's life, he let's Eshter know, in no uncertain terms, that she is definitely too old for him and she plays the old people's game of pickle ball. Fine with Esther, but it turns out to be not so fine as time goes one.

Pull up your favorite chair, grab a soft blanket and a warm drink, light your best candle and sit back to enjoy the evening!!! You will read this book until the last page is turned and be waiting for more!!! I loved it and can't wait for the second book to come out!!! Thank so much Jennifer Beckstrand.....another great read!!!

The Amish Quiltmaker's Unexpected Baby is the first book in Jennifer Beckstrand's newest series.

Esther Zook is an eccentric Amish spinster who has moved to a new community to start a new life for herself. When her estranged sister leaves her infant with her, Esther is horrified and has no idea what to do with a baby. Enter the young handsome Levi Kiem who seems to know everything about babies--and repairing bathrooms.

I appreciated that the author kept the characters focused on God and working on forgiveness. Unfortunately, I struggled with the believability of the story, especially when it came to some of Esther's quirks. I would have liked to see a lot more character development as well. However, the book was otherwise well-written and a quick read, and Winnie's character was adorable.

I have not read many Jennifer Beckstrand novels. However, the ones that I have always draw me in. Her characters are realistically written and her story lines move along at a great pace. Esther Zook wants a new start after her father's death. When her sister abandons her baby with Esther, she is not sure if she can take her old maid single mother status. Levi's father wants him to find a wife. However, none of the woman in town intrigue him except Esther. Is he ready to be a father? I love how the characters in this novel learn to work together and love one another. I laughed and cried during this story. I look forward to the next book in this series. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

I would like to that Netgalley, Kensington Books and Jennifer Beckstrand for the e arc copy of this book.
Esther has moved to a new community after the death of her father. She is learning to live on her own and trying to make friends. Her sister Ivy unexpectedly arrives with her baby Winter and this shakes Esther’s world. She has to learn to take help when it is given, where there is no price for that help.
I loved her developing friendship with Levi and his grandmother and her friends. They are a fun group and they help Esther to develop her own identity. I found Ivy to be a manipulative character and didn’t like her very much. However, as the story progressed you, as the reader, realised that although the sisters lived through the same events, each had their own interpretation of said events.
I really enjoyed this book and am glad that it is the first in a new series. Will definitely read this series. Would recommend this book.

The Amish Quiltmaker's Unexpected Baby by Jennifer Beckstrand is the first in the Amish Quiltmaker series.
Three things, this is not the typical Amish romance, you will laugh out loud, and you won't want to put it down.
Esther is on her way to being an old maid or so she thinks. She recently lost her father and inherited the estate. Being a quilter, she decides to move to Colorado close to well known quilter.she has been corresponding with.. She has not seen her younger sister in awhile and she is surprised when Ivy shows up and drops off her baby. Esther is overwhelmed as she knows nothing about babies. She meets Levi when he comes to her house to repair a leak in her bathroom. but he ends up taking over diaper duty. They become friends, both thinking the 6 year age difference is a problem. Then Ivy comes back and moves in with Esther and takes over wanting Levi for her own..
Beckstrand has once again written a wonderful Amish romance with wonderful characters and a unique story line. I am excited for book two to come out.
I was given an ARC by Kensington via NetGalley for an honest review.

Let's start at the end, this story is one that I believe is difficult to find the right ending but the author did a fabulous job. Even as I read the book except for the obvious ending for our couple I wasn't sure how I wished the other circumstances of the book to wind up. I knew I would hate certain endings for various reasons but I couldn't think of one that I would love. Good thing I'm not a writer because the professional knew what she was doing.

As you journey through the book everything unfolds and falls nicely into place to support where we end up. True some of the characters are a little ridiculous and silly but I loved them and was completely entertained. Character development is proportionate and believable. Jennifer Beckstrand writes Amish fictions that are a little more than the norm. I really enjoy the lessons taught and the method of delivery.

Jennifer Beckstrand is a go to Amish romance written to me. I love that she always bases her books of pure faith. The Amish Quiltmaker's Unexpected baby is no different. Ester is the main character who must step in and raise a baby her sister wants nothing to do with. She has such strong faith that there is no other option so she takes not he role of a single mother. Than comes in Levi he comes upon Ester and is so fond of her that he can't help but want her all for himself. This book is such a refreshing read I devoured it in one sitting because I just had to know what was going to happen!

This is an amazing start to Jennifer Beckstand’s new series, Amish Quiltmaker. This was my first book by Jennifer Beckstrand, but not my last! I got drawn into the book right away.
I love Esther and baby Winnie. Ivy was a spoiled brat and Ether had the patience of a saint dealing with her. The relationship between Levi and Esther was adorable.
This is a great book about family, faith, and new beginnings. I look forward to the next books in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from Kensington Books through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Jennifer Beckstrand has done it again, written a book filled with so much emotion.
She writes a different type of Amish story, and this one includes lots of friends and family.
There is jealousy, anger, love, and lots of compassion. At times I wanted to shake Esther, she was so kind and Ivy is such a spoiled brat, but keep reading as the reason unfold, and no, I couldn’t imagine what happened.
I also couldn’t imagine a mother, and I know it does happen, abandoning her baby, and then her sister not knowing how to take care of one.
There are some very funny moments, and you will be chuckling out loud, and the mind pictures are hilarious!
I am so glad that this is the beginning of a new series, and I can’t wait for the next book!

Jennifer Beckstrand has never disappointed me with a story, and this was no exception! I found this story to be a tad different than most Amish love stories, especially with the large age difference, but I enjoyed how their stories developed from despiration, to friendship, to love. I highy recommend this book to all who love Amish fiction!

What a marvelous Amish story! The setting was different than most. I love that it showed the integration of the Amish life with others in the community! I thoroughly enjoyed the development of the main characters! I haven't read an Amish Story for quite a while and this wet my palette for them again! Thank you! Off to read another!

The Amish Quiltmaker series will touch reader's hearts as Esther starts over in Colorado after the death of her father. It seems as if she can not get a break when her long lost sister leaves her baby for Esther to care for. I enjoyed this story but did feel that Esther's lack of knowledge about babies was not realistic. I grew frustrated with Ivy at times but was pleased with the outcome. I really liked Levi who showed such compassion. I loved the quilting gang and their creative ways of supporting Esther. Looking forward to the next book.

If you are a fan of Jennifer Beckstrand's, and I am-I've read all her books-this book is a little different from some of her others. It has its funny moments and her characters have some quirks, but those aren't highlighted as much a they are in some of her other books. That is not to say I didn't enjoy it, I enjoyed it very much, but I guess being so familiar with her work it surprised me by its departure in tone. The book is about a flighty sister who has left her infant with her spinster sister who has no experience with babies. The spinster relies on her community for help with the baby, especially that of a cute, younger Amish man. The two fall in love with the BABY-not necessarily each other. At times you aren't sure where this relationship may be going. The two together do fear the return of the baby's mother, and when she does, the book really gets going. Very enjoyable read and an ending that will bring a tear to your eye. I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review.
