If you are interested in using Essential Oils for therapeutic purposes, then you need to add Essential Oils To Boost The Brain & Heal The Body by Jodi Cohen to your natural healing library. Jodi's book is full of self-diagnostic quizzes to help you ascertain what types of medical issues you are dealing with and detailed information on how essential oils work with your body to help you naturally heal. Her book is also full of helpful physiological charts and recipes to get you started. I own numerous books on Essential Oils and have found information in Jodi's book that I have not found elsewhere. I found the book so helpful that I ended up purchasing the hardcopy and have it filled with post-it notes for pages that I reference often. I have also used a few of her blends and found them helpful.

This was a very information filled book for anyone who is new to essential oils and looking to gain knowledge about how to use them for healing. Easy to read and lots of great information.

Excellent resource for using essential oils. It has very interesting information. I intend to try putting this information to use for my own issues regarding sleep.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. Wonderful book! I have been wanting to get into essential oils. I am really into holistic healing instead of using drugs and harmful chemicals. Will read again.

Essential oils are a great addition to your everyday medical tool kit. This book shows you how they can boost your brain and help the body and keeps you interested through the whole book.

Thank you for writing this incredibly helpful eye-opening book on how essential oils can help us heal and enhance our energy and life! There were so many things I love about this book :) I love how comprehensive the coverage of the material is- it is not limited to essential oils but so much more. Best of all, I love how it is written with such respect for plant consciousness and plant synergy. The way the information was able to cover and integrate so much was truly beautiful and amazing- from all the brain healing info, applying essential oils to reflexology points in the feet and ears, and just so much more. Thank you sooo much for the actual blend recipes! It's exciting to feel empowered to blend them and use them :) Checklists are sooo awesome- thank you for including them and making them so easy to understand. Absolutely gem of a book- and I will be referring to this book frequently. Thank you for all the time and passion you poured into this beautiful treasure filled book

Essential Oils to Boost the Brain and Heal the Body by Jodi Cohen was a very interesting read and different from other essential oil books I have read.

I think Cohen was great about giving lots of information and knowledge in a very small amount of space. She explained points well with clear and easy to process examples. I appreciated all the different diagrams as well.

I found this book much more informative than other similar books.

I got an opportunity to review an advanced copy of Essential Oils to Boost the Brain and Heal the Body book by Jodi Cohen. I can’t wait to receive my hard copy so I can highlight multiple sections and put some of her suggestions to use, especially a few of the recipes for some of the blends she sells.

The book is an excellent explanation of how essential oils assist the brain & the body to recover from minor & major problems. It’s detailed enough to help you understand how everything works together, using language that the non-health care professional (like me) can understand. Jodi’s information is extensively researched and well documented.

She describes a variety of issues (something for everyone?!?), what’s happening to the body during these issues, and how and why some essential oils can help and others may make things worse.

One of my favorite quotes: “It takes a lot of energy to heal.” If you never give the body a chance to come out of a sympathetic state (high stress, fight or flight mode), it will never heal, regardless of how healthy you are in other aspects of your life.

This is an absolutely fantastic resource and guide. It is full of great information, recipes, tips, and ideas, and easy to implement strategies for a healthy life. This is a must have and one I’ll return to again and again. Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book.

I loved loved loved this book! It has everything you need to know about essential oils and how to use them effectively. It is very in-depth about how the body works and how essential oils can support every aspect of health. Even though it is in-depth, Jodi explains the science in a very easy format with language easy to understand along with diagrams. Right off the shelf this book will allow you to start self healing immediately! I have waited years for this type of book to come along! Thank you Jodi!!!

This truly is a user-friendly guide, also for “beginners” in the field of essential oils, I can only highly recommend to anyone who feels drawn to essential oils and also is eager to look deeper into the matter and the science behind it.

My main motivation to look more intensive into this topic was my personal experience with not being able to shift my nervous system into the parasympathetic state anymore “just naturally”. Besides grounded bodywork my affinity to essential oils helped me a lot – but I didn’t really know then why the oils helped me, I just applied them intuitively through smelling and applying on neck and temples. Could also simply have been a placebo effect, right?

Well, now I do know why they helped and I also know many more ways and areas of application, some of which I would have never thought of myself. Like addressing specific organ systems via applying oils to the reflexology points of the feet and the outer ears. What a great possibility to support any medical treatment ourselves!

I highly recommend the chapter on the vagus nerve and the parasympathetic state to anyone who is suffering from pressure and stress in everyday life or even trauma – whatever symptoms may show up, I think it is definitely worth a try. For me it was citrus (bergamot) and eucalypt oil, which helped me getting out of the “freeze mode” and into healing my vagus nerve.

Looking on environmental impacts, essential oils can even support detoxification and dealing with adrenal fatigue, who would have thought, essential oils can be of support here, too?

And one very good thing, also: you do not have to order any specific blends as Jodi Cohen even provides the recipes, thus enabling everyone around the globe to mix their own.

I have been interested in essential oils and their healing properties, so I was intrigued by this book. I have multiple health issues so if this could help in any way, I was willing to give it a try. I was impressed with how everything was explained and then studies backing the findings were cited as well. At the end of the book is a treasure trove of recipes for things like a Circadian Rhythm Blend, Detox Bath, a Craving-Buster Blend, and an Anti-Inflammatory Blend, just to name a few. This book is definitely one that I will be referring to over and over again..

I have enjoyed reading this book! I have used essential oils for 20 years and have read many books and articles about them. I work with physiotherapy and functional neurology and I have tried to connect the dots on aromatherapy and the brain for the past years. Jodis book did that for me. Her book is not just on the use of essential oils, it gives you a thorough but easy to understand lesson on the brain and the nervous system.
I am so happy about this book, because it really gives a great explanation on why and how the oils work. There are many great books on essential oils and emotions and the more spiritual benefits of using the oils. This book gives you a deeper dive into the rationale why they work. It is actually not magic. It is neurophysiology and that is what makes this book so interesting and different.
If you want to understand your own nervous system better and understand how you calm stress and inflammation and other conditions you will be happy to read this book.
And you get som really amazing recipes in the book!

Wow!! What a wonderful resource to add to your nonfiction shelves!! Until reading this book, I had yet to find the information on how essential oils can heal. I personally have several chronic illnesses, and I will be using the methods in this book. I truly believe in the power of essential oils as I have been using them in my health arsenal for a while. I enjoyed the layout of this book and the format in which it was written. This is not only informative, but enjoyable to read. Thank you so much for writing such a great reference book!

Definitely a reference book to have. More insight to conditions that various essential oils can help with although I quite like the smells of most of them mentioned. I still have alot of oils missing from my collection.

What an amazing selection of health issues these oils can help with both known and unknown.

Get those postit notes ready to Mark' these pages! I know I've taken useful notes.

Been waiting for a book like this to compile all the facts and rationale for using oils to help with many important health conditions. "All healing takes place in the parasympathetic state..." is so true! Love this author and this book!

She not only covers valuable background information on the brain and connection to important body functions but thoroughly covers how essential oils promote healing, providing 5 keys to improving brain health, practical tips, and essential oil recipes. This book leaves the reader empowered to take control of their own health with natural solutions.

This Self-Help Resource Book is Truly Worth its Weight in Gold!

In June after attending the online workshop, “Vagus Nerve Stimulation with Essential Oils” presented by Jodi Cohen, I preordered Ms. Cohen’s text, Essential Oils to Boost the Brain and Heal the Body: 5 Steps to Calm Anxiety, Sleep Better, and Reduce Inflammation to Regain Control of Your Health.

Whether you are someone like me who is at the cusp of 62 years of age, or if you a young woman in your 30s dealing with uterine fibroids, or perhaps you’re someone who is trying to heal the lingering effects in your body months after contracting COVID19, I think you will welcome the opportunity to read this volume. This new self-help guide has arrived on the scene, just at the right moment.

Living with the unpredictability of a worldwide pandemic, many of us have devoted countless hours trying to improve our health and/or finding ways to assist our friends and loved ones. This has resulted in our investing a disproportionate amount of time attempting to navigate the myriad of ways to heal our immune systems, while at the same time, seeking ways to calm our nervous systems, especially given the intensity of this anxiety we have collectively been experiencing.
