I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have always loved tails....I mean tales about mermaids. This book gives history and stories about mermaids. A mix of the good and the dark side. I love the art work that is in this book. It is lovely and make me feel like a child again. It gives me over to the wonder of those tales that spans time.

This is a SUPER cute book. I always pick up anything related to mermaids when I see it and was so glad to get this one! It's a fun little book with gorgeous illustrations and wonderful tidbits about mermaids. If you love mermaids--no matter what your age!--I definitely recommend this!

A mermazing (out of this world, incredible) artwork in this book. The drawings contain mermaids of different shapes, sizes and skin tones and a diversity of ocean animals.

Mermaids are known in all cultures of the world. They are women of rare beauty, with hair made of algae or green. Their soft song attracts sailors who dive into the water and eventually die.

Every lover of the sea and mythology should read and enjoy this book. You can charge with as many energy as needed when enjoying the artwork and the short quotes related to sea and summery good vibes.

This was a mermazing book! I absolutely loved all the little facts, the illustrations, the definitions. This was truly a magical collection of all things mermaid and the illustrations were so bright and whimsical! Anyone who is a mermaid fan will definitely enjoy this book. It's also going to be a great gift book for mermaid lovers. It's so much fun, it's pretty and it is everything mermaids!

Beautifully illustrated book for the water lovers out there., I especially liked the fin facts, fell in love with the “purrmaids” and learned something new (the meanings behind certain tattoos adorned by sailors). This is a quick read that I enjoyed reading aloud to my 5 year old granddaughter.

I love mermaids. But let's be real, who doesn't?!
My kids do too. So this was one of the books we read as a family.
We loved it.
The graphics / illustrations are fabulous.
The storyline is cute.

I'll definitely be looking out for other work by this author.

This little book is perfect for anyone that loves mermaids. Since I live in Weeki Wachee, FL, the only city of live mermaids, I just had to get it. The images are lovely, and the sentiments are wonderful. The fin facts great to read. Some of the facts I knew but others were new to me. I recommend this book to anyone that loves mermaids or likes being near the water.

An absolutely joy of a book! It's an illustration book filled with mermaids and sea life, sprinkled with facts about mermaids and inspirational quotes from their realm.

This is a fabulous book to give to your friends who love mermaids, with girl boss witchy vibes and a love for colors and illustrations.

These here are simply enchanting, there is so much joy between this pages! I have so many favorites, I hope there will be more materials for sale with these pictures because they are so wonderful! I particularly loved to discover what mermaids' hearts are made of and how mermaids shell-ebrate! So much fun, a gem of a book! Highly recommend!

This was a book that genuinely made me smile. It was fun, funny and lovely overall.

The book has some lovely sayings and I loved the whole set up, it would be great to get some of these pages as posters framed too to keep! There was a mix of mythology and folklore too - everything I love and it was a really positive read.

The book has some stunning illustrations that were just superb too.

It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!!

There's a lot to love with the children's picture book Mermaid Life by Christine deCarvalho. First and foremost, the illustrations are the highlight of the whole book. The stylized illustrations are beautiful. There are a lot of hidden gems in the pages, and every time you look you will find something new in the illustration that you might not have noticed before. This is especially great for the re-readability that good children's books require. Additionally, the book is filled with diverse mermaids (different skin tones, hair colors, body shapes, and genders).

There are a lot of great things in the text too. The text weaves mythology about mermaids with real-world issues such as keeping the oceans clean. There are pages with "fin facts" on them with great facts about some ocean creatures as well as inspirational quote pages filled with magical girl power. All of these pair well with the style and color palette of the illustrations.

This is a book I'd love to have on my own shelf for the illustrations alone, and a great modern children's book overall. I would definitely recommend this book or give it as a gift to friends that have young children.

Let's talk about facts first... when I started and realized this was an art book I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not. But SHELL YEAH! It was MER-MAZING!! The illustrations were excellent, the fin facts were really cool too, and what can I say? I love mermaids so there's no need for me to tell you that I'm gonna pre-order this book after I finish writing this review. I need it on my shelves right away!

Such an adorable book all about the life of mermaids! The designs and illustrations are so beautiful, it reminds you to tap into your magical, inner mermaid. Full of inspirational quotes and pinterest worthy designs, I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to tap into their inner magic!

Beautiful illustrations, nice and funny messages, always encouraging to live like a mermaid. We all should be more like them; being kind, spreading love and letting our magic bloom.
Another thing I liked very much is the empowering message for women and the importance of sisterhood.

What a charming little book! I've always loved mermaids, and this book brings out the magic in these creatures. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and I loved all the little fun facts sprinkled throughout. Who knew that there were 20 million tons of gold on the floor of the ocean! (And now I'm very curious as to how that was measured...) I spent a lot of time just looking at the pictures over and over.

I read Mermaid Life by Christine De Carvalho with my 5 year old nanny kid. She loved the pictures and the fun facts about animals. The purrmaids were her favorite and she is excited to draw her own kitty mermaid! However, the book was a bit long for her and some of the pages went over her head.

Mermaid Life is full of beautiful and colorful illustrations and powerful mermaids. I loved the body positive mermaids and the quotes sprinkled throughout the story. I look forward to seeing Mermaid Life on the shelves and I will definitely be sharing it again with my nanny kiddo as she grows up. It will be a book full of pretty pictures, a book to guide her to forming a girl gang of her own with powerful, magical friends.
