Thanks to Netgalley for the preview of this book . I read Karasv previous books and was excited to read this. It was an ok read I found parts of it hard enough to believe could actually happen The main character was weak at times & I wanted her to stand up for herself more.

I have read previous books by this author and was quite excited to read this. I thought it was an easy read and quite straightforward. The twists were not too twisty but a couple of them were unbelievable and farfetched. The characters were interesting though and I actually enjoyed reading the book overall.

A perfect suspense thriller. Who is on whose side? What are people’s motives? What is the truth? I had answers to none of these until right at the end. The style reminded me a bit of the works of writers like Camilla Lackberg or Sophie Hannah - high praise indeed. A great book which inspired me to read the author’s other works.

Lizzie and Alice are best friends and inseparable, one day when they are 13 Alice dies tragically and Lizzie has no recollection of what happened as she blacked out in an epileptic fit. Alices older sister Catherine always blames Lizzie for what happened and thinks that Lizzie is lying.
Now an adult happily settled with her partner, Catherine reappears in Lizzie’s and her partners life and many questions and events happen which make Lizzie uneasy and she questions everything.
I have not read any of Lesley Kara’s previous books but this books was easy to read and get into I breezed through it and loved all the twists and turns that left me eager to find out what would happen next.
I will definitely be adding more of the authors’ works to my reading list now
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review

Wow, Lesley has done it again. A brilliant page turner, a gripping book which I read in one sitting. I certainly will be recommending this to everyone.

I am a fan of Lesley Kara and have read her two previous books, I was happy to have the opportunity to review the new release coming in February 2021.. This is no reflection of the author as I think I have read too many of this genre however I didn’t find this as gripping as the previous ones.

Lizzie Is 13 years old when her best friend Alice is killed in a tragic accident, was she responsible? ....... Fast forward into adulthood and she is living in London with her boyfriend who knows nothing of this accident, Lizzie is still suffering from the torment of that tragic day and the aftermath, a young girl is killed in similar circumstances to Alice and then further torment begins...

The way Kara writes is great, the format of past vs present flows really well and the third person commentary fits in perfectly, it will have you guessing throughout.

It is a really good suspense book, I guessed the twist early on which I think was what made it less gripping for me.

Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication.

Alice and Lizzy are best friends, but at the age of 13 the accident happens and an epileptic Lizzie doesn't remember anything. As an adult Lizzie is happily engaged to dr. Ross, but the past is crawling into her life.

Page turning thriller. Twisted till the end.

I’m a fan of Lesley Kara and this book didn’t disappoint! A fast paced page turner with believable characters and an easy to follow plot! Had me guessing many times and was pleased that the ending brought everything together. Would recommend

I enjoyed this book and the fast pace of the characters in addition to the small chapters, making this an easy read. I felt that I had read a book with similar twists and turns and I noticed that another reader commented that the book followed the same pattern as her other books and I'm now wondering if what I read before was by this author. Still a great book though and definitely recommend.

My second Lesley Kara book and I was delighted to receive a copy of this via NetGalley to read and review.
The story finds Lizzie, in love with her boyfriend and living away from her parents for the first time, hiding from a tragic and disturbing secret from her past.
At the age of 13 Lizzie was inseparable from her best friend Alice, until one day, when the girls were out on a walk in a place where they shouldn’t have been and a tragedy occurred.
The story develops into Lizzie’s past when it is brought shockingly into the present day.
I couldn’t put this book down and would recommend to anyone who enjoys a gripping story.

Addictive. A must read.

But as she tries to cope with her grief, she is shocked to find herself alienated from Alice’s friends and relatives. They are convinced she somehow had a part to play in her friend’s death.Twelve years later, unpacking boxes in the new home she shares with her fiancé, Lizzie is horrified to find traumatic memories and paranoia suddenly surfacing. Is the trauma of the accident finally catching up with her, or could someone be trying to threaten her new-found happiness?
I loved Lizzie. Although Alice was good in her character but I liked Lizzie.
Narration of the story is engaging.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK Transworld Publishers Bantam Press for giving me an advanced copy of this psychological thriller.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I feel like all her books are the same. same pattern. Different people. For the most part I thought it was predictable. Only one twist at the end I didn’t see coming. Not a bad book. They just all seem the same to me.
