The new generation's Nancy Drew. And this girl's got teeth!

This sequel to a Good Girl's Guide to Murder will leave readers anxiously waiting for part three. Keep them coming as far as I am concerned. Jackson develops a gripping mystery, with true character development. There are moments in this one that force readers to think about justice, the justice system, and the patriarchal culture we have all been trapped within. Just for a little added measure Jackson adds some ethical questions to ponder.

Readers will love all the True Crime world references that peppers these books perfectly. Anyone who has podcasts waiting to stream needs to read this book. Five stars all the way.

With this said put the in the hands of true crime, Karen M. McManus, and Stephanie Perkins fans. Publishing world, please, keep books like this coming. Jackson is an automatic order in my opinion.

I was given an early release copy of this title on NetGalley from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Oh Pip and Ravi, you are a great team. This novel begins with a missing person who may or may not truly be missing. When Pippa agrees to help Connor find his missing brother Jamie, she becomes entrenched in a cat and mouse game with a mystery person. There is a slow build in the story, which leads to the crashing end. The sequel is every bit as good as the original. I can’t wait for book 3 in the series. I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to be an early reader in exchange for my review.

While this did bleak up a bit eventually, the overall Mayberry tone of this town and every single person in it is...off-putting. I didn't hate the story, even when the author dropped an important plot point late in the game which changed what you thought you knew.

What an excellent follow up to the first novel! I definitely will be recommending this series to young adults. So much fun to read.
Thank you Random House and NetGalley for the E-arc copy!

This was a 5 star book for me until the ending. It just didn't seem to lead where it was leading. Not saying I didn't enjoy it immensely. It just seemed to wrap up a little too neatly... and a little outrageously. I read about half the book in a couple of hours, so it was a good, quick read that kept me interested. And for a sequel... it was nearly as good as the first. And a lot of times, the sequel to such an incredible first book is a dud. Can't wait to see what else she has in store for us.

I recently read the first book of this series, and it was a "cannot put it down" type of read. The second installment does not break that mold. I found myself frantically flipping pages to find out the end of the mystery, and the biggest complaint is that it is such a good story that it goes by too fast!

Amateur detective Pip has sworn off anymore sleuthing after solving the biggest murder mystery her town has ever seen. She promises herself and her loved ones that she leave it to the professionals so that she can live a normal life. All that changes when the older brother of one of her best friends goes missing. Her friend's family begs Pip for help, and she embarks on a journey to find the missing Jamie Reynolds. She uses the platform of her highly successful true crime podcast to delve into the mystery that surrounds his disappearance which leads her to new enemies and allies alike.

The only minor criticism I have of the Holly Jackson's writing is some of the language and phrases she uses. This story is set in Connecticut, but Holly herself is British and that is apparent in the writing. Many of the characters use British words or turns of phrases that just aren't natural to Americans. I love all things British and this is definitely a small problem, but it does take the reader out of the story for a few moments every time it happens.

I absolutely loved this book, and eagerly await installment three!

Good Girl, Bad Blood, the sequel to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, was enjoyable and difficult to put down. I love that Pip is sometimes unlikeable. I love that she is tenacious, and I love the supporting characters. However, I was able to pinpoint who the "bad guy" was way too early in the book, even if I wasn't sure how it was all going to play out. There were a few other things I wish were fleshed out a bit more, but I think those issues may be resolved in the upcoming third installment. Overall, this was quick and fun, and I will absolutely recommend it to my teens who loved The Naturals and other crime novels.

Another thrilling, intricately plotted murder mystery from Holly Jackson! Pip has put on her detective hat once again to help track down her friend’s missing brother. As she digs up more small town secrets, loose threads from the first book are resolved while new plots unravel. The mixed media elements from the first book are still present - interview and podcast transcripts, online articles, text messages, and case notes break up chapters and allow readers to get a further peek into Pip’s process. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time; short chapters with great cliff hangers will propel even the most reluctant reader through this story.

Recommended for fans of true crime podcasts and Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson.

I loved the first book in this series and was very excited for a sequel. The book does a great job of recapping/giving information in creative ways through the use of the inner story podcast and the different mediums throughout, i.e. interviews, recordings, and online threads. This was great when I couldn't exactly remember something from the first book that might be relevant. It was just as thrilling and page turning as the the first book and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of true crime. The additional true crime adjacent storyline towards the end made it even more appealing for fans of the genre.

Another great recommendation for anyone who enjoyed the first book in the series or loves true crime. Definitely not a stand alone title. Fast paced and a good mystery. I enjoyed reading more about the characters I came to love in Bad Girls Guide to Murder.

Pip Fitz-Amobi is not a detective anymore. With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her. But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds has disappeared but the police won’t do anything about it. And if they won’t look for Jamie then Pip will, uncovering more of her town’s dark secrets along the way… and this time EVERYONE is listening. But will she find him before it’s too late?

I did not think Holly Jackson would be able to top A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, but this book was fantastic! I really enjoyed how Good Girl, Bad Blood brings book 1’s mystery into the sequel to explore the consequences of everything that happened in the first book. It helped refresh for me what happened in the first book, and it’s a good tool to show Pip’s character development and how what happened in the first novel affected her. You could tell the first murder she solved took a toll on her and her family. Good Girl, Bad Blood is definitely darker than its predecessor, which makes for an interesting story but definitely heavier reading. Pip Fitz-Amobi is a modern day Miss Marple mixed with Nancy Drew. The tons of twists mean that it is extremely fast-paced and gripping from beginning to end. The next book in the series can’t be published fast enough! This YA series is a definite must read!

Amazing sequel--and dare I say it's even better than the first book? This book finds Pip again, recording her podcast and trying to live a normal life, despite everything that happened in book 1. Of course, another mystery presents itself and Pip gets involved. Of course she does! It's going to be season 2 of her podcast, after all. GREAT story that will keep you guessing until the end.

I love this series, I am so glad the second one was just as exciting as the first. A missing person, a murder, it has it all. There were many plot twists and red herrings along the way, and similar to the first book, I could not see where this was going!

I love recommending the first book to students who want to read a good mystery novel, so I am glad they will have more to read from Holly Jackson!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this early!

What a thrilling sequel!! I'm so glad I was able to get an ARC copy and the wait was so worth it! Read "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" to get introduced to Pip and Ravi. Thanks so much to NetGalley for allowing me to read this awesome book.

I am disappointed that Good Girl, Bad Blood wasn't as riveting as A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, especially since I was truly looking forward to this one. The first few chapters were choppy and I never felt a connection to the story or Pip until Jamie disappeared. The mystery was slow to unravel but after the 70% mark things picked up to a big reveal that wasn't impactful. I did not pick up on the identity of a certain character, but I easily deciphered who the bad guy was from the beginning. One of the pluses was how events from the first book carried on into this one. Usually book 2 in a series features minimal references to the first book so this was a nice change. I did not like where Pip's character went by the end of the book. We see her spiraling into madness and obsession that reverts her into a different person. Since this book was mediocre, I will read the next one, though I already see the plot as fast forwarded to the summer with Pip taking a cross country trip to hunt down the bad guy on a sort of vendetta mission.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC.

Wow wow wow!! I loved this book. I was so jealous that it was already out in the UK that I almost bought the UK version on eBay, but after reading this, I’d say the US version is well worth the wait!

I finished this book in 24 hours. Once it got going, I couldn’t put it down. I was up until midnight reading before my partner made me turn off the light and then I DREAMT ABOUT THE BOOK

I loved the first book, but I think this one is even better. In the first book I guessed who the murderer was, but I didn’t see this ending coming at all. It was thrilling and suspenseful. Twists and turns. I mean, this book checked so many boxes for me not only as a true crime lover but also as a mystery/ thriller.

I can’t wait until I can talk about this book with all my murderino friends. Thank you SO much for sharing the honor of reading this book early! I’ll def be posting about it on @bookwormplantmom . Like, I’m going to be this books #1 cheerleader

ONE THING- the headphones on the cover look dated. Teenagers are all about the Bluetooth headphones or AirPods these days
