She and Ravi get to work, digging into searching for clues in videos, photos, interviews, etc. all while the trial of Max Hastings is going on as well. How Pip manages to stay in school while investigating a crime AND producing a podcast is a whole OTHER mystery!! Overall, great mystery novel for teens with a fantastic format. Pip is an excellent, complicated female detective-she's a Nancy Drew for the 21st century!

Pip is back on a new case with this fast-paced sequel of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. After the events of the previous book, Pip goes on to publish her story in the form of a podcast and gains notoriety for her sleuthing abilities. Now, a friend s brother, Jamie, has gone missing, and Pip (with the help of her sidekick and now sort-if boyfriend, Ravi) agree to take on this new case.

What I loved:
- The author’s attention to small but accurate details that make this whole story is much more realistic (Pip asking people to send pictures or stories or posts from IG/Snapchat from a particular night to get more evidence; Pip having to relocate to a better spot in a cafe to get better audio quality while doing an interview for the podcast). Little things but noticeable things.
- I ADORE the multimedia aspect of this book, the seamless incorporation of different types of mediums - docx files, wave files, flyers, emails, Reddit threads, etc. These make the whole story more of an experience (multi-layered, really) and makes the plot even more fast-paced.

What I didn’t love:
- The author seemed to step it up a bit more on the use of language in this one compared to the first (more f*** and s*** than I recall in the previous book). As a junior high librarian, this is really unfortunate to me because the plot and characters are SO great and I know so relatable to even my 7th and 8th graders. They get so sucked in to these kind of stories. Much of the language wasn’t necessary and wouldn’t have taken away from the story or characters. Sure, the characters are seniors in high school and nearly 18, but taking out some of the language wouldn’t have made them any less realistic or believable.

I’ll be sticking a “YA” label on the spine of this one in my library just as a visual reminder to students that it does contain some upper level content (language use, party situations which involve drinking, etc.), but this one is a page-turner and as an adult reading it, I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down!

Holly Jackson has crafted an even more thrilling and certainly darker mystery with her sequel to AGGGTM, Good Girl, Bad Blood. I am genuinely surprised that this book was able to hold my attention even more so than its predecessor.
One thing that makes this novel even better is the interwoven social commentary on the ills of social media. We also see a good bit of character development in our Nancy Drew, Pip. The previous book had me shaking my head at Pip's irrational decision-making and it was so necessary to flesh her out and develop some complex emotions in this protagonist,
Another interesting tidbit is that the sequel does not simply leave the events of the past in the past: Jackson incorporates the realistic consequences of the previous novel and uses those conflicts as a bridge to the new mystery. Not only is the use of this plot device well done, but Pip's darker emotions are well-crafted enough that all readers feel drawn into the abyss with her.
My final super love for this sequel is, of course, Ravi and Pip. They are partners-in-crime goals and I just want more of them!

Did the first book need a sequel? No. Did the first book leave off on a cliffhanger? Also, no. Is the sequel worth the read? Simply put...hell yes!

Sequels to thrillers are typically a no for me. What is the point? How many murders/mysteries can one person run into in their lifetime? (Ahem....I’m talking to you Jessica Fletcher) However, this book was able to captivate me. The first book was incredible but this book was better...and that’s a difficult feat to accomplish.

I think what works so well about it is that Pip isn’t seeking out another season to her podcast. If that was the case, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it. The characters seem like everyday people that I would encounter.

Now, I think the first book should definitely be read before this one, but I also liked that I was able to start this book without having to do any refreshing of the previous novel. I was able to catch up pretty easily on my own.

I cannot wait for the third, and final(?), novel in this series that’s coming out later this year.

Pip is back! I didn't realize that this was going to be a series, but I really liked A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and was happy to see a sequel. It looks like there will be a third book as well. Rather than focusing on a cold case like the first in the series, this book is all about an active missing persons case. Pip has definitely given up on detecting, but on the night of the memorial for Andie Bell and Sal Singh (the murder victims whose true story was uncovered in the first book), Pip's friend's older brother Jamie goes missing. Pip tries to get the police to deal with it, and is determined to stay out of it, but her friend and his mother are terrified and heartbroken, and eventually she feels like she can't say no. This mystery was a bit twisty and complicated (in a good way), and I was totally surprised about how it ended up. I will say, though, that while I was reading it, I was like "why doesn't anyone see how damaging this is to Pip??" She's tired all the time, and she's in danger, and while her parents are reluctant to let her do this, they don't really stop her or help her or try to speak to the police or anything. I guess I'm just getting to an age where I'm like "why is no one helping this poor teenage girl!!??" A good read, and I blazed through it.

This book contains the same characters as the first novel with additions. Pip has sworn off crime solving after the chaos from her previous case. She has decided to start a podcast documenting the case and the court case of Max from the first novel after the rape allegations arose. She truly felt she had moved past this and was happy with her boyfriend, Ravi, until a friend of hers came to her after his brother disappeared. Pip decides to help find Jamie, especially since she's grown up with him and the family. Her podcast is the perfect platform to help bring the case to the attention of the community since the police feel Jamie has just left town. As with the first book in this series, there are many twists that keep you guessing. However, I did feel this book was more predictable than the first of this series. But, this was still a worthy YA mystery that I will highly recommend to my students and others.

I received a free copy from NetGalley. I really like A Good Girl's Guide to Murder so I was excited to see a second one would be coming out soon. Well, it was delayed by a lot, and now my library still doesn't have it, but I was able to get it from NetGalley. Make sure you read a Good Girl's Guide to Murder FIRST and that you read it recently enough that you remember it fairly well. Good Girl, Bad Blood is NOT a stand alone and you need to have ready book one first. That said, it was also a great fast paced story that kept the pages turning and I'm looking forward to the third one.

I adored the first book A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and this book is no exception. Holly Jackson created a perfect sequel. At first I was worried that I would not like this one as much, concerned that it will be a similar mystery that the main character Pip had to solve with similar methods. I was entirely wrong. This book, despite being about a missing persons case and a senior in high school trying to solve it, it is about a young girl trying to figure out what she should and should not do as a result of previous experiences. Pip was more careful this time around, but was also incredibly persistent in solving the case.

The element of the podcast was also great and a fun twist! One of the things that really set this series apart from other young adult mysteries is the fact that there is multiple formats throughout . We have interviews with the witnesses/suspects, we have the aspect of podcast episodes, her journal entries, and much more. I will be eagerly listening to this book on audio to get the full experience the moment that I can.

Holly Jackson has written another pulse pounding YA mystery with Good Girl, Bad Blood. Reluctantly pulled into a situation that results in there being a season 2 of her smash hit podcast, Pip is just as dogged and relentless in her pursuit of this case. She makes reckless decisions (that are befitting her age) that put herself and others in danger, and while you want to shake her, there are consequences for her in the story. It's truly an excellent mystery in that while there is sufficient evidence so that readers won't feel they've been tricked, I doubt many people will see the ending coming. Looking forward to the next, though very nervous for what Pip might get herself into.

Absolutely loved this book and the series! The books are fast paced and it was so much fun to try and solve the mystery as the book went along. I had a hard time putting the book down.
Pip is a well developed character. Having more of the same characters in the mix was great as well. I feel for Nat so much!
I was honestly shocked at the ending. I'm excited to read the final book later this year.

This sequel to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder was everything I didn't know I wanted. I loved following Pip through the first book and loved her even more here. Jackson's style of writing is excellent and while some may say this book is similar to others, she adds depth to the story with the element of the podcast that Pip has started. I loved following along with Pip's notes and sound bytes for the podcast and her style of journalism as well. If you loved the first book, you will love this book. I can't speak highly enough!

The sequel to A Good Girls Guide to murder revisits the same cast of characters with a new mystery to solve. Pippa is reluctant to take on another case, but when the police do not take on the case of her friend's missing brother, she realizes she has no choice. Holly Jackson does an excellent job of conveying the emotions of all involved and the book is every bit as riveting as the first in the series. Reminds me of my love for Veronica Mars and I hope that this series continues!

This was a great follow-up story to Jackson's previous book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I was trying to solve the mystery along with the characters. Another great read and I can't wait for more from Holly Jackson! This story is perfect for teens and new adults who enjoy thrillers.

Holly Jackson's Good Girl, Bad Blood is a sequel to the very popular A Good Girl's Guide to Murder so there's enormous built-in demand already. Throw in a crackerjack of a story--Pip is done with murder and very done with investigating, but then Jamie disappears. And when the police don't seem that interested, it falls to Pip to once again start her own investigation'into where Jamie is and why he disappeared.

It's a delight to read'about Pip again and Good Girl, Bad Blood is an excellent sequel and read! The first book"s many fans are definitely going to love this and it will encourage those who somehow missed the first to definitely take an interest!

This sequel was just as good as the first one. I would recommend for full of this title you need to read have read the first book. This is a must buy for my library as the first book was popular.

Pip Fitz-Amobi has sworn of mystery solving. She has had her fill and, to the relief of her family and friends, doesn't want to lose herself to any more investigations. Working on her podcast and waiting for the Max Hastings trial to conclude is more than enough. But when Connor's big brother goes missing and the police label his absence as low-risk, Pip knows she can't let her friend down and gets pulled into a race against time to find out what happened to Jamie.

This sequel was just as enamoring as the first book was. The mix of typical narrative with interview-style sections was compelling and had me sticking with the book to finish in one sitting. One of the things I value most about Jackson's writing is her ability to keep the reader guessing. Often, mysteries are predictable and easy to figure out in the early chapters. That is not the case here, which makes it refreshing! I listened to the first book in audiobook format and imagine this one will be just as fabulous when it makes it to audio- the Serial podcast style of the narrative makes it perfect for listening!

Good Girl, Bad Blood is an easy, fun read. I loved Pippa's development and watching her grapple with her own morality. However, this sequel relies heavily on knowledge of the first novel, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, and since it has been more than a year since I read that one, I felt a little lost at times with some of the details (or felt like they conflicted with the first book). Though the ending is satisfactory, it definitely felt rushed. Good Girl, Bad Blood is more about Pippa's maturation than solving a good mystery, but I loved both. Can't wait for the third!

Although she successfully solved the Andie Bell case, Pip is still quite shaken up by how things ended and has decided she is done with detective work, turning her attention back to normal life and a true-crime podcast about how she solved the case. But when Jamie Reynolds, her friend’s brother, goes missing and the police refuse to do anything about it, Pip realizes she has no choice but to help. She knows it will be risky, especially now that she has people actually watching, listening and judging her actions to see if she will succeed or fail, but time is running out fast and with each day that goes by, the chances of finding Jamie safe and sound continue to decrease.

I was surprised to hear that there was a sequel to AGGGTM, and more than a little skeptical. The first book was amazing and a tough act to follow, especially since things were tied up quite neatly previously. But this second mystery that Pip finds herself drawn into is perhaps even more exciting and engrossing than the first. The narration style is similar, alternating between Pip’s investigation and her written observation, but this time also including the various interviews and pieces she records for her podcast to aid in the search for Jamie. The presentation of the facts in these sections felt much more organized this time, which I thought was really cool as Pip now has some real experience with this kind of work and it shows. Holly Jackson is a marvellous storyteller and it was so easy to get caught up in this thrilling read through many unexpected twists and shocking reveals.

Although the Andie Bell murder is solved, the actual trials are still in process and the ongoing case forms the backdrop of the story. It’s nice that the author didn’t choose to ignore everything that happened so far and just skip to a new mystery entirely because it’s very obvious that the case had a profound effect on Pip. And with this new case hitting much closer to home, we get a much better glimpse at Pip’s state of mind in this much darker sequel. Though this book could technically be read as a standalone, I would not advise it. Pip’s character arc and growth is only clearly visible when these are read in order and makes this that much more of a powerful read.

The one thing I found odd and even a bit foolish was how Pip kept updating her podcast audience on the status of her case. It was one thing for her to use the platform to get the word out about the search for Jamie, and another thing entirely to expose the details of her ongoing investigation when anyone could be listening to it, including the culprit. As before, one does need to suspend a measure of disbelief to look past how all these teenagers seem to have so much freedom and their willingness to commit crimes in the pursuit of the investigation. Also, the connection that Pip made to finally put the pieces together seemed like a huge leap in logic – there was no way for the reader to predict it because there was no hint provided that something like this even existed, let alone that it might be relevant to the case.

Good Girl, Bad Blood was a fantastic read and considering how this ended, I can hardly wait for the next book! Honestly, I’ve rated this 4.5 stars only because I fully expect the finale to be even better and I need to leave some room to increase my rating. Although this book is YA, the intricate mystery is really hard to predict and the way in which things come together so perfectly at the end would make it a great read for all ages. Highly recommended!
