I loved this book! It was what I expected from Christina Lauren- they engross me in a world outside my own and I'm kept thinking about it for days after. I loved Jess and her independence and I appreciated River needing her. I loved the twist in the story. I could re-read this book! Thank you so much for the opportunity to read an early copy.

This was such a delight from Christina Lauren!

I was worried that their books just weren’t “for me” anymore after being disappointed with a few, but their last two have been winners for me.

I’m glad the book didn’t try to explain the science in too much depth because that really would have bogged down the story. There is just enough scientific explanation to make the premise believable and have me invested in the idea of a way to determine compatibility through DNA.

Jess and River’s romance was cute (if maybe a bit rushed feeling to me) and I loved the side characters so much. Jess’s parents and Juno really helped me to feel more for Jess as a character. I had a feeling what the big twist would be, but even that didn’t detract from the story. It went places I wasn’t expecting, so I still managed to be surprised.

I’m so excited to see what Christina Lauren have to come!

My new favorite book by Christina Lauren! I have been reading these ladies’ books for years and The Soulmate Equation is in my opinion their best work to date.

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

AN OUT OF THE PARK HIT! I'm very clear about my love for the Christina Lauren writing team, but this was a delight! I loved the twist on the classic dating app, I loved that we did not have to wait forever for our grumpy protagonist to start to thaw, I loved the addition of Juno's character. Loved the bag, loved the shoes, loved everything.

5 flirty + swoonworthy + effervescent + charming stars to this love story. Can you find your soulmate through a DNA match? This latest novel from Christina Lauren attempts to answer this question. Single mom Jess is reluctant to sign up for GeneticAlly, a dating service based on matching compatibility between partners by testing their genes, but does so at the insistence of her best friend. A statistician by profession, she is incredibly wary to find out that she has a 98% match (the highest ever) with none other than Dr. River Pena, one of the company's founding scientists. River is also perplexed at how high their match compatibility is- especially because the two can't seem to have a conversation without arguing. Despite their reservations, the two decide to get to know each other better and give their relationship a chance- they're supposedly soulmates after all! Their love story hooked me right away and left me utterly charmed.

Part enemy to lover and part fake dating tropes, this romance is just FUN. Christina Lauren works their magic once again... full of endearing and genuine characters, witty dialogue, unique plotlines, laugh out loud moments, and steamy romance, I couldn't put this book down! The concept of finding your soulmate through genetics was intriguing and creative - it was neat to read more about that aspect. I also particularly enjoyed the supporting character of Jess' best friend and romance writer, Fizzy.

Wow! I've never read CL before but this was a great one to start with. The perfect read-in-one-sitting romance. I loved all of it -- from the unique plot (not a qualifier for me in romance since I love to read the same tropes over and over) to the three-dimensional characters and all of the heart in all of it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a beach read or just something heartwarming and fulfilling.

So, getting into it: we've got Jess -- single mom to Juno, best friend to romance novelist Fizzy, granddaughter to the most adorable couple ever -- who is having her fair share of life problems. Money, a kid, a rocky situation with her own mother. I loved Jess. She's smart, funny, honest, and real. Then we have River -- hot, beautiful, surly, ultimately shy member of a super wacky scienc-y fun genetics project meant to help people find their soulmate in the most scientific way possible. And guess who comes up as an almost perfect match?

I loved pretty much everything about this. River is swoon-worthy and fun, Jess's life feels rooted in a reality that many readers will recognize. I loved the background characters (and would love to see a book for Fizzy!!). I loved the questions that are raised about soulmates, data, and genetics. Can we make a science out of love? Should we?

Overall, 5 stars for me. I'd reread this, I'd give it to any friend. Perfect for summer. I can't wait to see it out in the world!

Can DNA be used to predict a life-long love match? This topic is explored in Christina Lauren's newest romance book. Like all other Christina Lauren books that I have read, this one did not disappoint. In fact, it's probably my favorite!

Thank you @netgalley for a copy of this book. I really enjoyed the premise of using science to find your soulmate. What are the odds that Jess & River are scientific soulmates in the same city and go to the same coffee shop. I enjoyed the story and seeing how Jess and River started falling for each other. I feel like their path was easy maybe because of the match and the conflict was minimum in the story. I also miss the steam that the duo had in their older books.

Christina Lauren does not disappoint! Another fantastic book written by them! Fun and inventive! I love this story line and if there really was a DNA dating app like in this book I would definitely sign up! The authors wrote such a cute story. The only thing I wished they did was write more drama/ action when the problem was at its climax. I felt the plot twist was too short and I wished it was more drawn out. Besides that it was a great book! I would definitely recommend this book and author!

First of all THANK YOU for this ARC!

I breezed through this story so fast, and I loved every aspect of it. This is the kind of book that I would give someone who wanted a vacation read. It's a romantic, steamy, predictable, yet engaging story! I love that Jess is a single mom, and her best friend reminded me of my own.

Congrats to CL for another job well done!

I feel like if we did a genetic analysis, Christina Lauren would be my diamond match because it seems like everything they put out is exactly what I need at the time. This was such a sweet story about finding someone who is truly compatible with you. I loved all the characters and their relationships with each other, especially between Jess and her best friend Fizzy. Their conversations were hilarious. Also Jess’s grandparents were so cute and pure, I loved any time they came up in the book. I can’t wait for this to come out so I can force all my friends to read this. There were a lot of numbers that could be hard to follow at times, and brought me back to a horrific period of my life in AP statistics. But other than the unwanted high school mems, this book was just a feel-good, heartwarming book, perfect for a pick me up.

The Soulmate Equation was a fun read. The premise is instead of using Tinder or other dating apps, you use your DNA to match. Dr. River Pena’s company does just that, matches DNA. Jess Davis is a single mom to a seven year old, barely making ends meet and lives in an apartment that her grandparents own. Fizzy is her best friend and buys the kit for Jess’ birthday. On a whim Jess sends it in and has a 98% match with River. What happens next is what rom-com’s are made of. I enjoyed this book Christina Lauren, I think its her best one yet. Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery books for the E-ARC. This is my own opinion.

Can science and dna testing help you find your soulmate? The Soulmate Equation certainly had a convincing argument that it could! Lonely, single mother Jess is getting by in life. She has an awesome kid, Juno, that she loves. A job that helps ends meet and a fun best friend who encourages her to get out and enjoy life a little more. But Jess seems to be missing that all important partner. Someone who she can come home to at night, snuggle with and talk about her day. After seeing the gorgeous Dr River Pena in their coffee shop for months and months, Jess and best friend Fizzy find out that he's about to launch a company that uses DNA testing to find your perfect soulmate. On a hunt for research, they agree to give samples and find out that Jess' perfect soulmate is none other than the unreachable Dr Pena. His co founders set up an adventure with Jess and River to prove that their testing works as Jess and River find out if they are actually meant for each other.

I have been on the fence about Christina Lauren books. I've read them all and enjoyed them, but none have ever really grabbed me. Like me, made me stay up late reading to find out what happened, but this was a fun one. I really loved the main characters and thought their development was just right. The reader was able to attach on to each of them, while no one's story drug out. Juno and Jess' grandparents were an awesome addition to the story and I loved what they brought to the table in this book. At first I wasn't too sure about a book about genetic testing (boring, boring, boring) but found this one really fun. I will say that I did deduct a star because at times, the genetics and statistics talk got to be a bit much for me. I found myself kind of skimming over those parts because, to be honest, they just weren't my cup of tea. But overall, I really enjoyed this one and couldn't wait to see how the ending panned out.

Another fun read by Lauren. I feel like this one is like her others before "In A Holidaze". Enjoyed the storyline and the characters. The plotline had a diferent spin than you're usual romance. Thanks NetGalley for the advance copy.

What a charming and fresh romance! I was surprised how much I liked this; I love the authors but the synopsis of this didn’t immediately grab me. That being said, this cast of characters did. My only complaint is that the ending felt a little flat; the conflict almost too forced, and the resolution with Jess’ mother a bit too abrupt. Overall, I finished this smiling while wishing I could take a GeneticAlly test...

The Soulmate Equation made my nerdy heart happy. Jess is a struggling single mom who does her statistics based freelancing at the same coffee shop every day. It’s there she encounters the man her and her best friend (with the best nickname ever, Fizzy) have nicknamed Americano; rigid on his schedule and a terrible tipper. When they hear some gossip that Americano is creating a dating app, their curiosity wins out and they approach him.

It’s there Jess and Fizzy learn the dating app is genetics based. Send in a saliva sample and await your genetically compatible soulmate. Jess isn’t planning on sending in a sample after Americano, aka Dr. River Pena, calls her average, but she sends it in after an emotionally draining day. Lo and behold, her match is the rude Dr. River.

River’s character was an interesting progression. What I initially thought was an irredeemable and rude man, was instead a socially awkward super nerd. Their relationship progressed quickly, but it felt genuine the entire time. I also can’t decide if I like the Hero and Heroine or the side characters more. Jess’s daughter and grandparents were so awesome and really added to the story.

The Soulmate Equation was fun to read. The chemistry between Jess and River was solid and I appreciated that they both took time to get to know each other before rushing into anything. Christina Lauren has so many books on my TBR list, I think it’s about time I revisit their older works.

In the age of technology and online dating, this book was a perfect romance read.

It did start a bit slower paced than I would like. The characters were interesting and the romance wasn’t your typical fall head over heels in love at first sight. I liked the natural build up and the strangeness of their circumstances. Yet once the characters got there, the chemistry was undeniable. It also had the humor that we always get from a Christina Lauren novel. Overall, it was a great read and I recommend it to any romance lover.

An advance complimentary copy of this book was supplied by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I am not even really sure what to say about this one! It was super sweet, cute, and had me thinking! Could our DNA really be used to help us find a soulmate? I like Christina Lauren's books and this one was just as well done as her others. A romance that will be loved by many and having you thinking about the science behind DNA and how it might affect our dating and love.
