Oh my goodness....I looooooved this book! I am officially a huge fan of Christina Lauren. I absolutely love the way they write. I was thrilled to pick up this book, and it did NOT disappoint.

I adored Jess - I loved her priorities, I appreciated her hesitancy, I adored the way she finally let go and went all in. I could not get enough of Fizzy and her notebook, and their friendship - how fun! I loved how they hung out at the coffee house and even loved the barista there. Of course, Juno was just the best, as were Jess' grandparents, and Jess' mom is just the worst. Lastly, River Nicolas was so dreamy and just brooding and imperfect enough to make for a wonderful story.

Jess and River had amazing chemistry. I loved the science-nerd aspect (they called themselves nerds!) and it just really worked. I don't know too much about genetics and statistics, but it seemed believable to me :) I found myself pretty much smiling the entire time I was reading this.

The ONE thing I'm upset about is that I really want to know something we don't get to know. I hope that's not too much of a spoiler, but please someone hear me and put it in an epilogue with the information I'm dying to know!!!

I'm a relatively new Christina Lauren fan and the last book I read was In A Holidaze.The Soulmate Equation follows Jess who is a single mom. She's data and statistics expert but she doesn't have any clue on how to get into the dating world again. Her father's been out of the picture and her ex decided he wanted nothing to do with her daughter, Juno. But, then Jess finds out about GeneticAlly: where you can find your soulmate by using your DNA. it's not usually the kind of premise I'd enjoy, but I thought it was a highly entertaining book.

I enjoy any of Christina Lauren’s books and this one was no exception. With online dating very high now it almost seems socially relevant ....I can not wait till her other books come out...

I was so excited to see my favorite author duo Christina Lauren's new book The Soulmate Equation on my shelf for review! If this is your first Christina Lauren book you're in for a treat, if you've been reading Christina Lauren for a while you'll find they put all the best parts of previous books into The Soulmate Equation.

Jess Davis is a single mom raising a seven year old with the help of her grandparents in sunny San Diego. After morning school drop off she meets her best friend Fizzy where they respectively work on statistical analysis (Jess) and writing romance novels (Fizzy). The same tall, dark and handsome man comes in everyday to order an Americano. One day they strike up a conversation and learn that Mr. Americano runs a company called DNADuo who is matching people based on chemistry through genetic testing. Fizzy pushes Jess to go and learn more. Turns out Jess and tall, dark and handsome are a statistically improbable match. The rest of the book plays out what happens when science gets involved with love and it was brilliant!

I especially loved seeing a relatable heroine who worries about work, her family and isn't looking for a guy to solve all of her problems.

The Soulmate Equation is a brilliant and refreshing book about Jess, a single mother, who impulsively decides to submit a sample to a new DNA-based dating site. It’s then that she gets the surprise of a lifetime and finds out whether your DNA can help you find your soulmate.

The storyline of this book is refreshing and a new take on the “single mom joins a dating site” trope. The characters are interesting and work so well together. I loved the elements of humor mixed with science and serious topics like Jess’ mom.

The development of Jess and River’s relationship was beautiful. When River is introduced, you automatically side with Jess and agree that he is pretentious and kind of rude. But everything changed for me when they go on their first date.

I wish we knew Jess and River’s official score, although it is nice to know that the storyline isn’t dependent on it. I also need to read Fizzy’s story in a sequel. I’ll read anything by Christina Lauren, but I think the unique story and fun characters make The Soulmate Equation my favorite.

As someone who’s read all of Christina and Lauren’s books, this was definitely in their top 5 for me.

It was nice to have such a different contemporary romance story. With very likable characters all around.

I don’t want to post any spoilers, but you won’t regret following Jess, River, and of course Juno’s story.

Christina Lauren never disappoint! While this book wasn’t quite as steamy as some of their others, it was still a fantastic story! I loved watching River and Jess move into their fake relationship and then even farther. Juno was, by far, my favorite character.

Yes, another Christina Lauren book read in a day. They're all just so dang GOOD I can't stop reading them! Another great book by Christina Lauren, full of fun, fleshed-out characters that make you want to give them a hug. I loved all the nerdy talk in this book, and found it really interesting from a science perspective, as well as the romance angle. Really great book and I can't wait to read the next one by them!

This is the Christina Lauren I know and love! Classic female friendship, single mom, super hot guy- all the makings of a modern day love story.

I LOVED the themes in the book. Friendship, perseverance, science being “cool”, this was the writing I know and love.

The Soulmate Equation had everything I love about Christina Lauren books, characters you love and root for, great banter and a sweet romance. Jess and River are sharing the title of favorite Christina Lauren couple along with Olive and Ethan from The Unhoneymooners.

Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope and the start of Jess and River getting to know each other when they made it seem like they couldn't even stand to be in the same room as the other was perfect. The way that Jess was portrayed as a single mom was so authentic and her daughter Juno was adorable. I loved the bond that developed between her and River throughout the book. Fizzy was a stand out character and I would love a spin-off of this book that features her as the main character and her journey to find love.

I enjoy all of Christina Lauren's books, but this one is definitely at the top of the list as one of my ultimate favorites of theirs. It made me laugh, it made me tear up a few times and I had a huge smile on my face when I finished it.

Jess is a busy single mom and freelance data scientist. She has no time for dating, but her friend drags her to a new dating service that claims to match people based on their DNA. Jess is skeptical, especially when she gets the highest-ever compatibility score with one of the company’s founders. She has no interest in dating River, who is rude and standoffish. But she agrees to get to know him, and both of them are surprised by what feels like a genuine connection. Is it real, though, or just science?

This was very sweet. Jess and River have great chemistry (haha), and they’re surrounded by a wonderfully messy cast of friends and family. Christina Lauren are great at world building and I always wish I could stay longer. My only quibble with this book was Juno, Jess’s precocious second-grade daughter. She’s a little too adult, always asking insightful questions with wide eyes, and even though I liked her, she felt a bit too much like a plot device at times. But otherwise, this is a charming book.

The Soulmate Equation, an enemies to lovers romance was definitely one of Christina Lauren’s best! The main character, Jess finds out about GeneticAlly and in a moment of weakness sends in a tube of spit to find her match which ends up being River Pena, a man she sees daily in her local coffee shop and who she has had bad encounters with which makes her think he’s a stuck up man with no emotions. How can this man possibly be her soulmate?? Jess was a character you could easily connect with. She was smart, sarcastic, and loyal towards the ones she loved while not letting herself be a pushover. Her love interest, River, was one of those characters that you couldn’t help but dislike at first but then grow to like him as the book went on. I loved that this book focused on many different themes. It touched on what makes a soulmate and whether genetics can tell you if you’re truly compatible or not, what you’re willing to do for the ones you love, and how even when things go wrong, to keep pushing on and I absolutely loved all of it! You couldn’t help but feel connected to the other characters in the book as well which not many authors have the ability to do. I ended up loving the chemistry between Jess and River (had to love their nerdy genetics and statistics talk) and found this book one that I couldn’t put down until I finished it. I highly recommend reading this book and I hope others enjoy it as much as I did! Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a really fun light read. The premise was more thought-provoking than I expected it to be, and though kind of predictable, the plot was fun and entertaining.
I was a little disappointed with the beginning of the romantic relationship, it felt like it was supposed to be an enemies to lovers story, but the enemies set up was weak. All in all, it was a great read and exactly the kind of cozy romance I was hoping for!

Plot: Jess Davis has a routine - drop her daughter, Juno off at school, meet up with best friend Fizzy at Twiggs coffee shop, work, pick up Juno and somewhere in there try and date. Everyday at 8:20 am, a good looking gentleman who they’ve named ‘Americano” walks in and out and speaks to no one. Fizzy and Jess find out that Americano owns a matchmaking company based on DNA results. One night out of desperation, Jess submits a test and doesn’t know what to do when she receives a 98% compatibility with - you guessed it - Americano.

If you’ve been around for awhile, then I don’t think it’s any surprise that I love Christina Lauren’s books. I think their books and books from Abby Jiminez are the only books that I have read in a day, and if I didnt have a job, this book would definitely have been one of them (I stayed up until 3am the first day I started reading this book - what responsibilities?!). All that to say, I loved this book.

I can’t even fit in this review all of the things that I loved but I will try:

Juno - Juno tugged at my heart strings. The conversations between her and her mom outside of the playground - I could just see it. It was beautifully written, and I just absolutely loved this kid.

Jess & Americano - Mama mia! Don’t get me started on how I instantly loved their connection. I don’t know if there are any biological matchmaking companies out there, but this storyline just felt so real to me. I imagine if I was either of them, I would have felt exactly the way they did and treated the situation just like they did (at least I think so).

Fizzy - The best friend everyone needs. Supportive, present, hilarious, encouraging - simply the best.

Jess & her mom - There was a part in the book, where I was like OK JESS, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO DO, and you know what? She did it. Atta girl, Jess.

I loved that this book took place in San Diego (a place I love dearly), I loved all the characters in this book (honestly, every character is perfect), and I just loved the story line.

Another 5 star book - and I absolutely cannot wait for their next one. The Soulmate Equation comes out May 18th, but honestly - just preorder it now. You won’t regret it!

I’ve read many of Christina Lauren’s books - always enjoyable reads, but I thought THE SOULMATE EQUATION may just be their best yet! What a fun, fresh spin on the dating apps of today, written with such heart and vivid characterization that made me sad to finish the book. This book is sure to be a hit, and for great reason. If we can’t all get to the beach this year, we can at least escape into the world of EQUATION!

I'm a big fan of Christina Lauren, and of all of their books, this is my favorite kind. It's charming, fast-paced, funny and all-around enjoyable. I picked up The Soulmate Equation hoping for some escapism and a fun story, and they more than delivered. The only downside is now I have (presumably) months to go until their next new book.

Christina Lauren has become an automatic read for me, and this newest book did not disappoint! Such an interesting and original concept - using DNA to find a match! I loved this take on the new age era of dating websites. I also really enjoyed the friction sprinkled in, not only between the characters, but within the characters when making decisions. Great read!

Such a fun book! I loved the new take on dating sites and matching people through genetics. It was an incredibly inventive premise, and a delight to read about! The story is a bit predictable but that didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of reading this novel.

If you could see me right now I’d be doing my best “Tom Cruise on Oprah’s couch” impression. I finished this book and immediately proceeded to jump off my couch hugging my kindle, sending coffee and my blanket flying, while screaming “I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!! I LOVE IT!”

Seriously, slow clap to the dynamic duo of Christina and Lauren. I don’t know how they do it but each new book they write is better than the last.

In their most recent book, The Soulmate Equation, they pose the question - does DNA play a role in our finding soulmates? What if it could and what if their was a an app for that?

So is it DNA or fate that bring app creator, River, and statistician, Jess, together? When the pressure builds to be “the perfect match” can they live up to the expectation?

This book had me smiling, laughing, crying, and on the edge of my seat. I devoured it like a hot cup of coffee and can’t wait to reread it when it’s released this spring.
