I love books with a college setting, but this was too surface level.. The main character wasn't very likeable and I found her to be incredibly boring. I did not care for the cliffhanger ending. I needed more and I was left very confused.

Never Have You Ever was a fun and easy read. It was a quick and entertaining story about a college girl named Sophie who gets kicked out of her sorority house and has to move in with her brother, Brody. But when she gets to his apartment, she finds out that Brody is not there and instead, there's this good-looking guy named Drew pretending to be Brody.

I liked both Drew and Sophia. They had great chemistry and their relationship was well-paced. I enjoyed the fact that they had to hide their relationship because everyone thought they were brother and sister. It was a fun twist to the story.

However, I did have a few issues with the book. Some of the conflicts were a bit over the top and there were a few characters that I didn't like, like Aamee. She was petty and selfish and just rubbed me the wrong way.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, which I wasn't a huge fan of. I would have liked to have a more satisfying ending, but I guess it's setting up for the next book in the series.

I love a good romance story, and as a general rule, a good 'mistaken identity'-kind of story doesn't generally let me down either. This one, however, kind of did. It might just have been the whole 'pretending to be siblings'-thing, but either way, I'm afraid this book just wasn't really for me...

Sophia is a junior sorority girl living in the sorority house. After Carter, the boy that she is tutoring is seen leaving her room in the morning, she is quickly asked to leave the house by Aamee, the sorority president. She moves to her brother's apartment, expecting him there as he is also a student at the university. Sophia does not see him, but Drew, the man who is impersonating her brother by taking classes in her brother's name. Sophia finds herself drawn to Drew, but since everyone thinks that it is her brother, she must lie to cover her tracks. Sophia also finds herself in a battle with Aamee, as Sophia wants to move back into the house.

I really enjoyed this book. I was so happy to be chosen as a recipient of an ARC through Netgalley. Although I had never delved into Elizabeth Hayley's works before, I am certainly eager to explore more of her writing in the future. The portrayal of college life felt authentic and believable. However, it's worth mentioning that there is no happily ever after in this story.

The main characters needed a little more something. I would recommended if you like books that ends with a cliffhanger.

A slow build romance book for sure.... Secret lovers, forbidden love, and a heck of a cliffhanger ending.... Totally makes you want to read the next book in this series...

I seriously liked this book. I was so happy to be selected to receive an ARC from Netgalley. The wit and humor are amazing. I honestly had never read anything by Elizabeth Hayley before but I defiantly will again. College life seems realistic. Just a heads up there is no HEA.

I want more books

ARC was given for honest review.

Sophie is evicted from her sorority house by the vindictive president, so she lugs her things over to her brother Brody's apartment. For some reason, though, the dude who lets her in is claiming to be her brother... Turns out Brody's left the country and has someone standing in for him in his college classes. A mutual exchange; Brody gets to do what he wants and this guy - Drew - gets to take business classes that he wouldn't ordinarily be able to afford and live in his apartment rent-free. Now that she's living there, Sophie has been pulled into the lie and has to help perpetuate it. But then she starts to actually like Drew... and they begin helping each other... and then feelings start to become involved. Can they continue the lie and be together in secret at the same time? Or will they slip up and get caught, costing Drew his free education, Sophie her chance at getting back into the sorority house, and Brody his apparent freedom?

I devoured this book. It was a very fast read, and I couldn't put it down. The end, though... I could have used a longer book, rather than having this be the first in a series with a horrible cliffhanger ending. I am going to have to seek out the other book(s) just to find out what happens, which is why I am giving this book 4.5 stars and not 5 (though I have to have a round number for this review, so 5 it is).

I’ll be honest, this book fell flat for me. The levels of second-hand embarrassment were off the charts. I found myself cringing too much to enjoy the parts of the book that otherwise would have been funny. The fake incest plot line was just uncomfortable. I really wanted to like this book, the premise sounded funny but all in all I was rooting for Carter who wasn’t even a potential love interest.

The premise for this book was good, and I liked both Sophie and Drew a lot. At times the book was really funny, and some of the situations were as awkward and hilarious as they should be. A part from that the book was nothing special for me, the story line was a bit messy at points, and the few things the main characters were fighting for just didn’t engage me. It is the first book in a series, so the ending was opening up to the next book, but without revealing to much it just disappointed me, and I lacked closure. It also felt like an easy way out of all the complications. If you look for a light and sometimes funny read this is for you, but sadly it wasn’t for me.

This is my first book from this author and I thought the writing style was good and this book was a quick and easy read.

It’s definitely more on the cute side or romance novels with a bit of Family drama, forced proximity, school drama, and bullies. The MFC and MMC are likable and have good a good dialogue throughout the book.

It does end on a cliffhanger, so you’ll need to read the rest of the series if you want your HEA.

I’m giving this a 3 star because even though it was a good read, I just didn’t love it enough to pick up the second book right away to finish it the series.

I received an eARC from Net Galley for my review.

I was enjoying the book. It's not a masterpiece, however, for how common it is for books like this one to be pure trash, this was surprisingly bening. Then the ending happened and it was such a cliche and cheap way to end a really nice book. It was a cute story, I don't feel like it draws a saga kind of investment from people, at least not for me, so ending it like this does nothing for me.

I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley. I was unaware that it was part of a series. I think this book had potential but it just missed the mark for me. The whole sorority plot line and faking gay was over the top and unnecessarily dragged out. It took away from the rest of the book. When I got to the end, it left on a large cliff hanger. But honestly I have no desire to continue the story. I did like Sophia's character so for that I gave 2 stars instead of 1.

I received an eARC from Net Galley and this is my honest opinion.

The best way to describe this book is a retelling of a classic late `90s/early `00 high school/college movie. It has it all, the student atmosphere, the mean girl, the guy who falls for her, the forced proximity, and a little bit of drama. If you are feeling nostalgic and old college movies from 90 and 00 would pick you up, then this is a book for you.
It was so cute and easy to read.

So, in short, there a lot of tropes and cliches that were managed nicely. The writing is ok, it is easy to read. The story was not strictly based on the two main characters and we do get to see a lot of side characters that participate in some of the decision-making and actions throughout the book.

Sophie and Drew have a nice connection from the start and I like the casualness that they have from the beginning.
Drew's character, is someone for whom there is not a problem he won't tackle.
Their dialog is cute and the support and respect that Drew shows towards her are so heartwarming.

It ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared to need the next book!

Never Have You Ever
4. 5 stars
Sophie is in her Junior yr of college and she is not having a good year, her sorority's president has kicked her out of the house over a boy being in her room. Sophie only has one place she can go to her brother's apartment but come to find out it's not her brother who has been living there but some random stranger.
Drew just wants to learn how to be a businessman to one day hopefully open his own bar. So when a rich kid offers him a chance to take some college classes he jumps on it. Then one day he gets a surprise when Sophie pops by the apartment where her brother should be at.
Now they're forced into an odd cover-up and a lot of lies to keep up with all at once while they navigate college.

I couldn't stop laughing at certain parts. I love the different characters and how even their friends are developed along the way. I loved how Sophie was so put together but also very flawed and mmm Drew is just so sweet and honest. Drew has a big heart and is always willing to help anyone. The ending is what got to me the cliffhanger was not for me at all. That was the only part I didn't like was the ending I need to know what happened.

Thank you,
Net Galley and Waterhouse Press for the e-ARC for an honest revie

This book pulled me in and kept me hooked. I loved the characters and the story line. It took me a day to read this book. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you do

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute enough but cliche read with a somewhat cliffhanger ending to expect to have a sequel to read.
