Sophia Mason has been exiled from her sorority house. The guy she was tutoring fell asleep in her room and there’s a “Strict”, no guys in the house overnight rule that not everyone follows, including the sorority president who kicked her out. She heads over to her older brother’s apartment, unannounced, to hopefully crash with him. When she gets there the guy that opens the door claims to be Brody Mason, but he is most definitely not her brother! Her brother Brody has done some pretty outlandish things but having this guy, Drew, pose as him to take his classes while he hangs out in Italy takes the cake. Sophia can’t out Brody to her parents without outing herself about being kicked out of the sorority house, be it a BS reason or not. To keep everyone’s secret Sophia and Drew decide to keep the charade up for the remainder of the semester until her brother returns.

Drew Nolan has always wanted to do better than settle the way his parents and siblings have. He’s always wanted to go to college and possibly open his own bar one day. While those goals might not be the pinnacle of success, it’s his dream. When entitled, and wealthy Brody offers his apartment for free in exchange for Drew to attend his classes while he hangs out in Europe, Drew sees it as the opportunity of a lifetime. Brody’s a business major, and while he won’t gain a degree in the end Drew sees this as a way to get some business knowledge under his cap for free. Win-win!!! Until Sophia shows up and puts everything at risk.

As the weeks go on Sophia is determined to make it back into the sorority house, continues to tutor Carter (the one who fell asleep. Did I mention president of the sorority has a major crush on him and he hasn’t given her the time of day? Hence the real reason Sophia was kicked out of the house), Drew/Brody organizes a study group, Sophia’s childhood friend Taylor comes for a visit, and they all become a merry band of misfits that have all made it a mission to help Sophia back into the house. All the while no one knows that Drew isn’t Brody (except Taylor), and Sophia and Drew are becoming increasingly physically attract to each other. Can we see where this is going? Enter Angst…sigh

To say this book gave me anxiety is an understatement. The level of stress I endured at waiting for these two to get caught was enough to make me drink (or at least indulge in some other sort of recreation that is now legal in some states), to calm my nerves. I like my stories with low angst, and this was anything but! However, I loved it!

I loved every character in this book, even the horrible Aamee, (the way she spells her name alone is enough to make you want to trip her), but she was written perfectly! The banter was there, the humor was there, the chemistry was there so this book checked off a lot of boxes. I would like to have gotten more intel on Drew’s family, but I think that might come up later as this appears to be the first book in a series. With that being said, the ending was my least favorite thing and that’s all I’m going to say about it (no spoilers for you). I’m curious to see if there will be any stories for the real Brody, Carter, Toby, Taylor, and most definitely if there will be an ignition/explosion between Aniyah and Xander (there was some chemistry there…albeit denied chemistry, but chemistry non the less).

I’m definitely interested in reading more from these authors.

Sophie was ready to embrace the college experience to the fullest and that included being part of a sorority however she is about to find out that the same rules aren’t applied equally when she finds herself without a place to stay. Although staying with her brother wouldn’t have been her first choice it may now be her only choice however when she shows up at his door secrets are about to be exposed.

Drew has been living Sophie’s brother Brody’s life as it helps both of them achieve their dreams. Brody gets the freedom to travel while Drew gets the college education he wouldn’t have been able to get otherwise. When Sophie comes crashing into his life, he just needs to convince her to keep the secret.

When you combine two partners in crime, humorous interactions and hot chemistry it is only a matter of time before things are about to get complicated. The fun begins and now we just need to see where it leads.

This started out fine -- a little, fun, even . . . but then it got weird. Sophia has to pretend Drew is her brother to try and get back in her sorority but when they're caught making out, they took the ploy way too far. It just kind of went off the rails so I didn't love it. Maybe we'll see what the next book in the series is about . . . but it would have to be really compelling for me to give it another chance. Hope this works better for you!

Never Have You Ever comes out TODAY on November 10, 2020, and you can purchase HERE.

Never Have You Ever by Elizabeth Hayley is the 1st book in the Love Game series. I found this book to have unique concept. Sophia gets kicked out of her sorority, and moves in with her brother, only her brother is not there. Her brother is paying someone, Drew, to go to school for him, while he is off traveling Europe. What a fun book, as Sophia and Drew grow closer. One thing I did not realize is that this book ends with a cliffhanger, so if you want to know what happens to this couple you have two more books to find out. Both books will be released soon, and I can not wait. I highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I totally loved Sophia and Drew's story.. They are so good for one another. You have all the college drama with a twist.. Lots of laughs with a few tears. Can't wait to read the next installment.

[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]
I have mixed feelings with this book.
It's a funny and light story, very easy to read. The MC are very likable, especially Drew, so thoughtful and charming (and hot!). The plot is funny and some side characters too. But I think some the misunderstandings are too forced and I wasn't comfortable with some of them (the whole gay thing started very funny but eventually made my eyes roll). Also I think there are some holes in the plot.
I didn't know it was part of a series (ends in cliffhanger) and with the same MC, guess I would have read it with a different thought if I'd knew it.
But overall it was a cute story. I'm going to read the next one.

Super cute book! It was a great story that does end in a cliffhanger so be ready for that. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Parts I liked-

Most of the characters: I liked Drew more than Sophia, but I even grew to like Sophia over time. I found the parts of the book where they were with their group of friends to be the most interesting. Although she was incredibly cliche I even liked the antagonist, Aamee.

Plot progression: The flow of the plot was done well. It transitioned smoothly from one scene to the next, from conflict to resolution, etc. It was also not repetitive, the conflicts were always different.

The romance: Sure, there were parts of it that weren't so great, but for most part, it was fun to read their romance progress. It was also fun to read about them trying to hide it because most people thought they were brother and sister.

Parts I didn't like-

Some side characters: It's not that I didn't like them because they were the antagonists, I just didn't get a chance to know them. Like Sophia's sorority sisters (mainly, her friends from the sorority) and her parents (we do get to know her mother a little through Sophia though). I wouldn't mind if they played a background role like Drew's family, but at times, they play fairly big roles in the plot and I feel like I don't know them.

Sophia forcing Drew to pretend he's gay: This, I did not like. She was put under pressure, she panicked and "outed" him and the poor guy had no choice but to go with it. I thought he handled it extremely well.

Parts of the plot: I don't understand how Sophia's brother, Brody, could go gallivanting around Italy, like where did the money come from? If he used his trust fund, surely his parents would know and by the sounds of things, I don't think they would have trusted him enough to give him access anyway. He didn't seem like the type to work for money. Maybe he saved up, but that seems unlikely as well. There was also some things that happened that seemed to happen purely for plot convenience. For example, they kissed at a party and that kiss was recorded, then used against them. But for real, if you're pretending to be brother and sister while simultaneously falling in love, public places aren't safe kissing venues.

Overall, not a bad book, I gave it three out of five stars. A fun read if you like secret relationships, sorority story lines and bait-and-switch plots.

The title caught my eye and the description seemed fun. Sophia Mason is a junior in college and has a run in with the President of her sorority who makes her leave the chapter house. She arrives at her brothers apartment to find Drew Nolan living there, poising as her brother, and attending his classes. I thought I was in for a cute YA or new adult novel about getting revenge on the "Mean Girl" sorority president and making friends with college misfits.

The writing is light and the main characters enjoyable but the book is tone-deaf. This isn't the 1980's when Three's Company has Jack posing as gay being the basis of a family sit-com. Sophia claims Drew is gay to avoid her friends hitting on him. And a lot of the jokes are based on that misunderstanding. To make it worse, when their mutual attraction gets seen, it turns to incest jokes. Never funny. Also having someone take my college classes while I play in Europe seems poorly timed with the recent college admittance cheating scandals.

I read this in one evening and was surprised when only one of four plot lines was semi resolved. The book ends on a cliffhanger. I can see from Goodreads the next two books are coming out soon but I'm on the fence whether I need to read them. (I hate leaving things unanswered.) The book has some swearing and is not explicit with one fade to black scene. Thank you NetGalley and Waterhouse Press for the ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.
