Liv Constantine hit it out of the park with this one! I loved this one and let me just say that once I hit part 3 there was no way I could put this book down until the entire thing was finished! This one kept me on the edge of my seat. I will say that some of the twists were kind of predictable, but the book still left my heart racing and eager to finish!

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper for the ARC.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5 stars

This book got me through Election Night 2020, so that is how entertaining it is. I was hooked from the first page and read 75% of it in one sitting. Liv Constantine has mastered the fun, twisty thriller that I love to read

The Stranger in the Mirror is about Addison, an amnesiac who is recently engaged and is starting to get nervous about her wedding. Addison cannot remember anything about her past and cannot stop feeling like she may have done something very bad in her past life. In Boston, Julian is still trying to figure out what happened to his beloved wife and mother to their seven year old daughter. When Addison and Julian cross paths, everything begins to spiral out of control.

This book is fun, soapy, tense, and completely bonkers. I think this is up there with The Last Mrs. Parrish. I just love how Liv Constantine never fails to hook me right away in a story and have me flipping the pages as fast as I can. I love my thrillers over-the-top and twisty and this one is a perfect example of that.

ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book has a lot of twists and turns to it. I liked how each chapter was a different characters point of view. You think that Jillian is just the most loving husband and caring father. It’s turns out that he has been planting false memories into both his wife and his child. When I was reading this book I wanted Jillian to be the hero not the villain. This was a great read and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Brilliant characters that are make you fall in love with them. From Gigi and Ed to Blyth and Ted.

This is a classic thriller with an amnesia plot told in multiple POVs. It starts a little slow as you get familiar with the characters and their backstory, but picks up as Addison and Julian’s worlds collide. There are some surprising twists and the short chapters kept me engaged.

I wish we got more depth to the characters, and in some places the multi-POV got confusing. I also think thriller lovers may find the big reveal a bit predictable. Overall it’s a quick thrill but not my fave from this author duo.

This dynamic sister author duo does it again! The Stranger in the Mirror is a close rival to The Last Mrs. Parrish. A fast paced psychological thriller that kept me guessing until the end. I love the use of multiple unreliable narrators and how the character development has the reader changing their opinion of the main characters after every chapter. I wasn't sure who was the "good guy" and who was the "bad guy" until the bitter end.

No complaints from me. A solid thriller that I will definitely recommend.

This is easily the author's best book yet! I could not put this down and I am going to recommend to everyone. Can't wait till their next one!

Addison has amnesia. She has no idea how she ended up on the side of a New Jersey highway, or how where her head injury came from. But she has been trying to move on from that horrible day since, trying to make new memories. A new name, a wonderful fiance, and a future are waiting for her. If only she could just let go and embrace it, and ignore the flashes of memory that haunt her.
Julian has been searching for his wife, Cassandra, for two years. His daughter still cries for her, never giving up hope she will come home. Where has she been? Why would she abandon them?
When Julian finds Cassandra, who has been living as Addison all this time, he is excited to bring her home. But Addison doesn't know him, or the life he claims she lived. What if he is part of the horrible memories that plague her? How can she trust him when she cant trust herself?

This is Liv Constantine's best book yet! Full of suspensful twists that keep you frantically page turning, it keeps you guessing until the end.
I saw the plot going in the opposite direction it end up in, with the little diversions that kept popping up. Brilliantly planted clues to Addison's life make the first part of the book the hook. Just when you think you know where its going, the story shifts narratives and blows your mind.
Without giving away the story, I do feel I need to say that I was really shocked by the extreme level of psychological abuse that is endured in this story. Mind manipulation is almost as bad a physical abuse. Liv Constantine expressed her point perfectly with creating the evil in this story.

One sentence summary:
Two years ago, for some unknown reason, Addison developed amnesia, but after she rebuilt her life and is now engaged to be married, a man from the past finds her, claiming to be her husband and the father of a young child she didn’t know she had.

My thoughts:
Fans of Liv Constantine - the pen name of the sister duo behind THE LAST MRS. PARRISH - will most likely devour and enjoy this latest from them as it’s full of the same twists and turns they typically deliver. I only recently listened to the audiobook of THE LAST MRS. PARRISH, and I loved it! I thought it had strong characters, a unique premise and writing with a good amount of polish.

Their latest thriller is definitely an engaging page-turner with lots of twists! Sadly, this one didn’t hang together as well for me, and I felt myself slipping out of the story a few times because the premise - and the reveals towards the end - seemed a bit too far-fetched for my taste. But there are plenty of thriller fans who aren’t bothered by such things, and I think they’ll easily look past it and just enjoy the ride!

If you’re in the mood to shut out the world and read a shocking, twisting thriller by the pool, this could be the summer read for you!

This comes out July 6!

Thank you Harper for the ARC!

This might be the dumbest fucking shit I’ve ever read. It’s definitely a top contender and taking home a trophy.

The beginning of The Stranger in the Mirror could not be more poorly written. We start with the most worn out and tired trope on the planet. Throw in some nonexistent character development, shallow (to the point of desperation) dialogue, and the ridiculous ass plot and you’ve got the recipe for this novel.

In fact, the only thing that would make this better is if you actually did put it in the oven on 450* and went to take a nap.

I’ve been a huge fan of Liv Constantine in the past, but this feels like a completely different author. Like a really bad joke.

It would be a better use of your time to paint your house with q-tip.

Addison is a talented photographer, living in Philadelphia. She’s intelligent, beautiful and engaged to marry a wonderful man. All seems fine, except for the fact Addison has no recollection of her past, nothing at all. She was found wandering on a highway, two years previously. In Boston, Julian is searching for his wife, Cassandra, who disappeared without a trace, leaving him to care for their young daughter, Valentina.
When Julian, purely by chance, finds Cassandra (Addison), she returns to Boston with him to resume her life there, and as she becomes re-acquainted with Valentina, some snippets of memories begin to return. As time goes by, she finds herself increasingly isolated, and slowly feels she’s losing her mind.

The author takes us on an incredible roller coaster ride. This is a book I literally could not put down. The story is well-written, with an excellent plot and great suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Stranger in the Mirror was another fun thriller written by the sister duo Liv Constantine! I just recently read The Last Mrs Parrish and knew I didn't want to be late to the book club for their upcoming novel coming out this month. So thank you to Harper Collins as well as Netgalley for physical and digital copies of The Stranger in the Mirror!

This story follows a woman who has a bad case of amnesia and ending up in Philadelphia after a kind civilian finds her on the side of the road in New Jersey. She takes on the name Addison and attempts to build a new life after the loss of all her memories. But as time goes on she begins to have possible flashbacks to a horrible event in her past and she encounters someone who once knew her.

This was a fun take on amnesia and fast-paced with short chapters, very similar as The Last Mrs Parrish. I also enjoyed the multiple POVs used throughout the story. There was a section in Part 3 of the story that felt odd because it was set in the past, but the dialogue made it seem like this event was occurring in the present time of the story, so I was sort of confused. While not as gripping as Mrs Parrish and leave me wanting more, I still enjoyed this new thriller from the sister duo!

I loved this great thriller. It was an amazing read for summer. Great character development and suspense. I had no idea how the story would wrap up and it completely took me on a great roller coaster ride. A great read that I highly recommend.

Wow, this is one of my favorites of the year. I absolutely loved this one and can't wait to see what everyone thinks when it's published. It is a WILD ride.

THE STRANGER IN THE MIRROR is a fun summer read, although it's not quite as immersive as I had hoped. Addison takes some getting used to. I'm wondering if the book would be more captivating if it started in a different place. Beginning with Addison's struggle with amnesia makes her hard to relate to. If she doesn't know herself, then we as readers don't know her.

However, over all, this is a well written, crafty thriller with the twists and turns readers have come to expect. Suspend your disbelief and you're in for a fun ride.

Addison has no memories before the last two years, when she was found wandering down the highway bruised and bleeding. She has made a life for herself in these past two years but wonders daily who she really is and what she has left behind.

Whew..what a ride! I have said that Liv Constatantine does not disappoint and they have proved me right again!  I was immediately invested in Addison's story- who is she? Why is no one looking for her? I was so nervous for Addison and what was going to happen- but it was that good nervous, on the edge of your seat feeling.

I really liked how this story unfolded. It was told through three points of view and that really moved the story forward in a clear way.

If you are looking for a good psychological thriller- this is for you!

Ok, where do I start?

I absolutely LOVED this book. I could not stop reading once I started. I was fully pulled in on page one. I have always been a huge fan of Liv Constantine, and she is definitely what I consider an "auto-buy author". The Last Mrs. Parrish, still haunts me to this day and will always be a favorite. However, The Stranger in the Mirror is out of control and without a doubt my favorite book of 2021.

I can not even put into words how good this book is. The pace is very fast and had me on the edge of my seat. By the Second Part of the book I thought I had it all figured out but I was wrong. The Stranger In The Mirror, is loaded with twists and turns and has an incredible, explosive ending .

This novel is perfectly narrated, the characters come to life and you will find yourself referring to them as real people. Since I started the novel I could not stop raving about it to my fellow book loving friends.

The Stranger in the Mirror needs to be on everyone list to buy! Five Stars without a doubt!!!!!!!

This is one of the most convoluted, intricately plotted thrillers I have read in a long time! I’m almost speechless to be honest because of how twisted it is! I don’t know how the authors came up with such a brilliant idea, but they brought this book to life and kept my rapt attention the whole way though. Wow! Absolutely riveting! I knew when I read the authors previous novel (The Wife Stalker) that I was going to be a fan of their work, but I didn’t think they could make me go fan girl like I am right now! Honestly, this one is just terrific (and sort of terrifying when you think about it!).

I don’t want to give anything away about the plot because it’s just too twisty to do so (you need to read it to understand everything going on) but I will say it’s a mindfuck in the best of ways! There are so many puzzles you need to put together in order to get to the truth but its so worth it when you get there. Don’t worry, it may seem a little confusing because there appears to be a lot of different characters to worry about (Cassandra, Addison, Amelia) but once everything reveals itself, you’ll probably think the same things I did: BRILLIANT!

Obviously, I loved this novel so much. I can’t even form coherent thoughts and write an in-depth review because it twisted my mind up so much when reading! However, the one thing I didn’t care for (it was a little to easy and rushed for me) was the ending. Sure, it doesn’t change anything that happened in the novel, but I wish the authors made it feel like it actually fit into the story better; it was simply to easy and pleasant that it didn’t work well for me. Other than this, I highly recommend reading The Stranger in the Mirror!

Wow Liv Constantine is the duo sister team of Thriller fiction!!!!!!!!!!!!  These two authors are the best at writing thrilling, twisty stories that twist you're head up and spit it back out with the revelations and OMG stories that they put out. This is in my opinion one of their best books yet and this is coming from a fan who has read everything thing they've wrote so far. Thriller fans will devoured this book just as I did. I highly recommend this amazing book.

Looks who’s back. Back again! The dynamic duo is back with another hit. I absolutely adored The Last Mrs Parrish and I think this is my new favorite from them. It’s addictive and cunning and smart. I gobbled it up in 24 hours.

Another knockout by sister duo Liv Constantine!

I don’t know about you, but I have read a whole bunch of thrillers with this amnesia trope lately. I was a bit worried that this one would be another variation on the same theme, and that I’d be bored by a story I’ve read before. That was not the case with The Stranger in the Mirror! This might be my favorite of all the amnesia books I’ve read. I suspected the right person was the “bad guy”, but I never could have guessed the extent of the twist.

If you’re a fan of these authors’ jaw-dropping twists, you won’t be disappointed by The Stranger in the Mirror. The book is fast-paced and entertaining cover-to-cover, and I read it mostly in one evening.

I docked a star because I had a hard time relating to Addison/Cassandra. This could have been due to her amnesia, but her thoughts felt stilted and disjointed at times. There was quite a quick jump from her one life to the other, and it felt a little too convenient.

I did come across a timeline error in my review copy and got a little too hung up on it–I thought I had missed something and spent easily an hour flipping back through the book to try to get the timeline straight. Once I finished the book, however, it was clear that it was just an editing error. I sent a message to Lynne and Valerie’s Instagram about it, and they confirmed the error had already been corrected! Next time I come across a timeline issue in an ARC, I’ll flag it and keep reading instead of stopping to try to figure it out.
