Cute but fairly predictable. The whole I want a baby/family theme is repetitive throughout the entire book - to the point where is seems that’s all the characters want. Forget that Colt has an amazing thing going for him at the ranch. I’m not sure how Jenna made a living as there is no mention of her having a career or job.

The third book in the Meadow Valley series. Jenna Owens just turned forty and she is going to a ranch in California called Meadow Valley on the way she meets young cowboy Colt Morgan. They will have their ups and downs as they work toward their happy ending. The story is well written with a very good storyline both of them deserved to find love. The story was well worth reading.

I received this arc for an honest review.

Jenna Owens is sent on a trip to a ranch for a vacation by her nephews that she has raised. Now forty she has made herself a list of things she wants to do since her boys are grown. One of the things is having a fling for the two weeks she is there on vacation which she has never done before.
Colt is on his way to pick up an aunt who he thinks is an elderly person. When arriving and meeting Jenna he is surprised at how good-looking she is, and his thoughts of never having a relationship since his last one crashed and burned slowly come back to his mind. When he finds out that one of her plans for her stay is having a fling he tells her he would be happy to help her with that since he thinks she is very attractive. He does not think she is forty when she tells him and she is surprised that he is not bothered by her age at all. What she does tell as they go along is she does not want a family which is something he wants. So even though they each begin to have feelings for each other they must put it on hold. What will happen? Read this wonderful story to find out.

This is cowboy romance. The two main characters are learning to love again after they both have been hurt in the past. Jenna is about ten years older then Colt, but that does not stop them from felling in love with each other. I loved this love story, and I loved all the characters in this book. The side characters where everything in this book. I love that this book shows that a family does not have to share blood. This was a cute and fun book with some important topics cover in a great way. I cannot put into words how much I loved this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Forever) or author (A.J. Pine) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Only A Cowboy Will Do is a captivating story of second chances. It’s the third book in A. J. Pine’s Meadow Valley series.
The characters drew me into the story, Jenna Owens has devoted herself to raising her three nephews who have gifted her a two week vacation to the Meadow Valley Guest Ranch. Jenna realizes that this vacation is the perfect opportunity for her to create her own happily ever after. Loved the items on her bucket list—they might seem ordinary to most people—these words represented Jenna’s dreams.
Colt Morgan is what dreams are made of—he’s sexy, sweet and an honest to God cowboy. I adored that he was immediately attracted to Jenna and he offered to help her with the bucket list. Loved his relationship with his sister and Delaney and Sam.
A.J. Pine creates a special journey for Jenna and Colt. Loved how Colt and Jenna fell in love as they checked off the items on the bucket list. My favorite scene was when they shared beers and toffee bars underneath the stars as it was so romantic. The characters are relatable and the storyline unfolds at a perfect pace. I felt for Jenna; she stepped up and raised her nephews putting their needs above her own. Colt’s relationship with his sister gave me insight to his strength of character. Colt and Jenna desire the same thing—unconditional love and a family of their own. I rooted for this couple’s happiness as I read each page of this novel.
If you are looking for a heartwarming story filled with love and laughter —pick up a copy of Only A Cowboy Will Do. I know you will enjoy Colt and Jenna’s journey as much as I did.

Only a Cowboy Will Do was a fun read! I love a good age gap romance. Jenna and Colt were especially fun together. Can't wait for the next book from AJ Pine! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Only a Cowboy Will Do by A.J. Pine is the third book in the Meadow Valley series and what makes it special for me is that it’s about a character from the Crossroads Ranch series. Jenna Owens raised her nephews after their mother died and did a fantastic job fostering them into the men they have become. For her 40th birthday they gave her a 2-week vacation at their friends’ ranch and made all the arrangements for her transportation. In that short amount of time, she would meet her special someone and figure out her true calling in life.

I love it when a minor character gets a story of their own and you find out how truly wonderful they are. Jenna is a little quirky herself with a psychic chicken named Lucy that also got to go on vacation. She’s picked up by Colt Morgan and her adventure begins even before they leave her house. Jenna assesses her life and wonders if she missed out on things when she was busy raising a family. Now she wants to try new things and gets Colt to help her with a list. Over her two weeks she finds herself attracted to this younger man and tries her best to keep it a fling, but her heart says otherwise. I liked Jenna and the decisions she made for herself. She put herself first and Colt was the icing on the cake. She found out that she can have it all.

I don’t know who I love more in this story; the hero or the heroine. Colt Morgan is quite the hero with his good manners, caring about his job and future, and his love for his only family, his sister Willow. He has charm and charisma and his grand gesture to proclaim his love absolutely did me in. He is a true-blue gentleman and someone you will fall in love with. He’s been hurt in the past and you can empathize with his feelings about family. It caught him off guard to find someone to love and love him back, after taking himself out of the game for so long. Colt is a character you can definitely fall in love with yourself.

Only a Cowboy Will Do is a tender romance about finding love and your calling in life. It’s a story about family and not just the kind you are born within. The revelation that Jenna could have it all with Colt was a real magical moment and definitely pushed this from a good story to a great story.

AJ Pine is one of my favorite cowboy romance authors. I really enjoy her California Cowboys so much! I liked this story quite a bit, it wasn’t my favorite from her but it was a solid 4 star read. Age gap isn’t my favorite trope, but it really worked in this one! Recommend!

Jenna is forty years old and getting a much needed vacation and armed with a checklist of things she wanted to do and Colt is a younger guy who is happy to help her with her list. One was a vacation fling but it looks like this fling is getting deeper then they imagine and there will be a deadline.

Vacation fling? To do List? Romance? If this doesn't scream summer read I don't know what else would. I loved watching as they worked though her list and seeing that romance progress as the story went. No good story doesn't have a bit of drama to move things along and it was interesting seeing what that was and how it impacted the characters. Overall I really enjoyed this book highly recommend!

I loved the reverse age gap where Jenna was 10 years older! I appreciated reading about a woman in her 40’s and her love interest not being intimidated by the decade separating them. The histories of both Jenna and Colt were extremely touching. And the animal antics were cute. However, because of the low steam and low angst for the majority of the book, I found the story only ok. It was only the last quarter of the book where the emotions ran high that piqued my interest and added a star to my rating.

This book was not for me. I wanted it to be but I felt like I didn't have enough of the backstory to truly understand what was happening. Particularly with the heroine's family. I will try AJ Pine again though.

Funny, sweet story by A. J Pine. I have not yet read any of the Crossroads Series nor the first in this series, so I am behind the 8 ball about knowing any of these delightful characters. The authors does provide a lot of back story, but I still don't know how Jenna Owens has a "psychic" chicken and why she takes said chicken with her when she goes on her first vacation.

Jennie's life plan took a trajectory, when her much older sister died of cervical cancer, and her brother-in-law fell to the bottle. She stepped up taking over the family farm and raised her 3 teenager nephews, and succeeded in raising them into extraordinary men. She however, gave up all her dreams to do so. Now at forty, her nephews give her a 2 week vacation to Meadow Vally Guest Ranch. She is also given a journal, in which she writes down a list of things that she has never done that will make her happy for now.

Colt Morgan, one of the owners of Meadow Valley Guest Ranch in town to visit his sister, has offered to drive Jack Everett's aunt to the ranch. Expecting to find an elderly lady, he is stunned by the beautiful and kind woman he finds. Quickly smitten, Jennie, pushes back, because she is 10 years his senior. Both have been hurt by previous "sweethearts", so they agree to a 2 week fling. They fit so well together that both want more, but they face an obstacle that they don't think they can conquer. Of course, the reader comes up with the perfect solution right away- the same one that takes Jennie and Cole much longer to realize to get their HEA.

I very much enjoyed the story and hope to catch up on all the previous books, not on my TBR list. I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Jenna Owens wants one thing for her birthday this year: a fairy-tale ending of her own and a little relaxation at a quaint California ranch.
Colt Morgan isn’t interested in long-term relationships. Not since his last one crashed and burned after his fiancée found out he wanted a big family.
Jenna is 10 years older than Colt but he doesn't care. She has been caring for her nephews for years so they send her to a ranch to get away.
This story was told so well and I loved getting to know the characters. It has always been ok for men to be with younger women but society still frowns upon women dating younger men and I don't know why. I loved how this all worked.
Thanks to Forever and NetGalley for the book to review.
