A truly beautiful reading experience! The stories in The Well-Watered Woman are relatable, and help the reader draw closer to Jesus. With illustrations, Scriptures, poems, and stories, this book takes you on a journey to become a well-watered woman close to the heart of Jesus.

This was a good snow day read. Very comforting in its tone and familiar in the experiences shared by the author. It's important to remember to not only be 'watered' by the word, but to take care of ourselves as well.

This book took me awhile to read. Not because it was tedious or tiresome but because it was words my soul needed to soak in. To sit and let saturate. As an amateur home gardner I resonated with the imagery in this book. The references were ones I could relate to. I recommend this book to all women who are looking to be filled up in their Christian walk. I fully enjoyed it!

The Well Watered Woman by Gretchen Saffles came along at just the right time for me. I was feeling parched by life in general and Gretchen's book spoke to my soul. This book was well researched and had a lot of Biblical references to back up the stories Gretchen presented. Each chapter starts out with a short story about a thirsty woman and the chapter answers how a well watered woman would respond and learn about Jesus. I recommend this book for any woman who had been dragged down by life and looking for some encouragement.

With gardening season underway here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s the perfect time to be reading wise words about the growing process, and Gretchen Saffles points readers in the right direction with her work in The Well-Watered Woman: Rooted in Truth, Growing in Grace, Flourishing in Faith. Watching the slow progress of early summer here in Zone 5b–and also in my prone-to-wander heart–I nodded my head and gave thanks for her reminder that “you don’t have to be blooming to be growing.”

Every spiritual journey starts at The Well where Christ supplies living water for the thirsty soul. The believer then matures through daily hydration from The Word.

"Just as Jesus is the Well of living water that satisfies our thirsty souls, he is also the Word that speaks to us daily and grows us through his grace.”

Jesus is also The Way to a flourishing life, turned outward and characterized by service and self-giving. The well-watered woman has her roots sunk deep into truth, and her joy is contagious because it springs from her unwavering hope in God. Readers will be eager to follow up with Gretchen’s online ministry, Well-Watered Women, where they can access play lists, reading guides and many other resources including free printable journals.

The Well-Watered Woman was a great reminder of the truths of the gospel and what that means in our daily lives. As women, so much can collude our thinking, and Gretchen's book serves as a lovely reminder that the Word is the place where we can be filled and seek truth. Gretchen shares her testimony as well as many personal stories to help point readers (and herself!) back to what is most important. Thank you to NetGalley for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is lacking some of the rigor and depth that I've seen in the Well-Watered Women Bible studies, but is still a solid read. I found the gardening and plant metaphors particularly enjoyable as I read this over the spring and was planting my own garden. Saffles stresses the need for Christians to remain planted in God and in the Bible if they want to experience growth in their faith. While it did not offer any earth-shattering insights, it is well-written and flows nicely between chapters.

Several years ago I came across Gretchen Saffles on social media and started following her because she felt very peaceful, sweet and I loved sharing prayer with her on certain days. Her passion and authenticity was contagious. Its content began to be so beautiful (aesthetically speaking) that I turned to look at it and I liked that it was also beautiful in content (and not only in colors and flowers). I am very happy that you have written this book because it goes along the same lines that I have seen all this time, focusing on Christ, his Word, and abiding, bearing fruit, having faith. If you want to be encouraged in these aspects this book may be for you.

Gretchen uses Scripture and her own personal experiences/struggles to encourage women to seek Christ daily. She encourages women to put God first, to seek Him before we start our day. I love her slogan "Word before World". It's such a wonderful reminder of how important it is to have God's Word in our hearts because worldly distractions will come, and we need to be clothed in the armor of God. She teaches that if we abide in Him we will grow and flourish in Him. I feel like this book is written for women of all ages and all stages in life. Each of our prayer/quiet time will look different and that's ok as long as our hearts are truly surrendered and seeking Him. I highly recommend this book.

I have been following the ministry, Well Watered Woman and its founder Gretchen Saffles and have been anticipating her books release. The Well-Watered Woman: Rooted in Truth, Growing in Grace, Flourishing in Faith did not disappoint. Gretchen writes with such truth and vulnerability. Throughout the book she points to the truth of the Gospel. I love how she separates the book into three parts, The Well, The Word, and the Way. She speaks truth but also shares practical examples. This book will encourage you and point you to Jesus.

I received this book via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to Tyndale House Publishers for the free book.

This was a book rich in theology and relatable experiences. I loved how the author shared her story and about seeking Jesus through easy to relate to metaphors based on gardening and being well watered. The book is split into three parts that encourage women in The Well, The Word, and The Way. I liked how each part built off of the previous one, while always pointing the reader back to Christ and his promises. She gives encouragement and suggestions for those in all different kinds of seasons on how to connect with Jesus throughout these different sections. I felt like one of the goals of this book was to encourage the reader to move deeper in relationship with Christ and with the ideas presented in this book, I think that all readers will get something out of it and will have their well tapping into the living water.

This is such an encouraging, inspiring book. Gretchen has a way of presenting gospel truths in a relatable and engaging way, while also convicting and inspiring her readers to dig into Scripture for themselves. It’s clear that “Word before world” isn’t just a slogan for her, but the way she lives her life, and this book has encouraged me to do the same.

Whether you are new to the faith or have been following Jesus for years, you will learn from and be convicted by this book. It provides practical examples of what it looks like to truly follow Jesus and put Him first in day to day life in every season - from planting roots in the Gospel, to growing and changing to become more like Jesus, to blooming through obedience to Him. This book pointed me to Christ and encouraged me to go deeper in my walk with Him. It is definitely a book I will want to read again; I highly recommend it to women in all stages of life!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

There will be times when we just want to escape where we are in order to get to the next season. But God calls us to plant a garden right where we are—whether it’s in a wilderness, in the desert, or in the middle of a storm. ~ Gretchen Saffles

Spring has arrived, and with it comes new life! All around us, the flowers are blooming, the animals are giving birth, and the weather is changing; but, do we feel refreshed and renewed? Isaiah 58:11 says, “The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

Whether you’re struggling to quench your thirst or feel revived by the Living Water of Yeshua, I have a book for you! The Well-Watered Woman by Gretchen Saffles contains something for everyone; inspiring believers to dig our roots deeper into the Word of God, seeking the Messiah in every aspect of our lives, and giving us tools to fight the enemy as he tries to take us away from the promises of everlasting life! We all go through seasons of drought, pruning, blooming, and revival; however, no matter what season you find yourself in right now, The Well-Watered Woman could be the encouragement you’ve been asking the Father for!

The Well-Watered Woman is like a seed planted by God—continually growing by his grace, sustained by his promises. ~ Gretchen Saffles

Gretchen Saffles pours her heart out in this honest account of seasons in her faith where she had to learn how to find joy and strength in the Lord when all she could see around her was barren wilderness. Her words, illustrations, and Scripture references not only share a testimony of the things she has personally gone through, but her inviting approach opens the door for readers to connect with each topic she discusses — identity, redemption, success, anxiety, to name a few. The Well-Watered Woman will not only minister to your heart but if you allow Him, the Holy Spirit will begin speaking to you, shining a light on the parts of your life He wants to transform.

Life ebbs and flows in the rhythm of seasons. God, the gardener of our souls, faithfully prunes, tends, weeds, and waters us to produce a harvest for his glory. ~ Gretchen Saffles

When I began reading this book, I thought it would be better suited for someone else — someone going through a harder time in their faith. Though my family and I are currently facing serious spiritual battles, my faith has never been in a better place; however, as I continued to read Gretchen’s story, my soul began to cry out for the truth she wrote. By chapter 5, which spoke about bearing fruit in a time of drought, I was fully absorbed, soaking in every word and highlighting anything that jumped out at me (I made a lot of highlights). I might have felt strong, but through reading The Well-Watered Woman, the Father showed me that I needed to dig even deeper, truly bathing in the well of Living Water He promises to all who believe and live for Him!

Dying to yourself isn’t the loss of who you are as a person; it’s discovering who you were meant to be—a servant, a sacrifice, and a recipient of God’s grace. ~ Gretchen Saffles

Are you tired of living for yourself? Are you thirsty for more of Yeshua’s love and grace? The well of Living Water flows through this book, giving readers the tools to soak up the nutrients, renewing their spiritual lives before taking what they’ve learned into the harvest field to share with others! We can be so quick to beat ourselves up when we come up short; but, one thing the Father showed me through The Well-Watered Woman is that we are not meant to carry all the burden but to abide in Him — (A)ccept pruning (B)elieve his Word (I)dentify false vines (D)elight in Jesus (E)ndure with joy— allowing the Lord to be our gardener! We don’t need to be dry any longer; Yeshua is inviting us to come as we are — dirty and imperfect — so that we can be washed in Him, allowing His grace, love, forgiveness, and mercy to pour over us every day! Will you take that step towards the water today?

Pursuing Jesus isn’t about attaining perfection or arriving at a specific destination. It’s not about having your life put together or avoiding suffering and struggles. It’s about finding unending hope, peace, and strength in Jesus so you can conquer the challenges you face and flourish right where you’ve been planted. ~ Gretchen Saffles

It is a lovely, beautiful book. With transparency and honesty Gretchen uses her own life experiences to encourage you to be a Well Watered Woman and that doest mean we need to be perfect but we need to be well rooted and watered in the One who is perfect. Many times we just give so much that we dry out, and instead of seeking God's presence we search and fill our life with everything but God.

"The goal of the Well-Watered Woman isn't to be someone but to know someone - the one who changes everything."

This is a book you could probably go back to again and again. Gretchen shares with vulnerability, pieces of her life's journey, to help point us toward the the Gardener, and what it means to know him, and be filled by him. She encourages us toward a life that flourishes and thrives by rooting ourselves in truth. It's for the everyday woman who needs the reminder that, "life won't ever be easy, but God is always good."

Divided into three parts: The Well, The Word, The Way

Chapters include a quote, a story, affirmations connected to Scripture verses, a statement about the well-watered woman, and endnotes.

Includes a summary of statements at the end as refreshers "about what it means to live the well-watered life."

I think the chapters would be too long for a morning devotional but might be good for discussion as a Bible study.

In The Well-Watered Woman, Gretchen does a great job of reminding us women to sink our roots into God's Word, abiding in Him and living with eternity in mind, even in the simple things like our interactions at the grocery store. This book is a must read for anyone that needs a reminder of the value in spending time in God's Word and living for Him.
