This was a fun book, loved the illustrations (including the moonwalking gingerbread man and the dabbing gingerbread man!). Would I buy it? No. Would I borrow from the library? Yes!

The illustrations are really cute and inviting. They definitely look like they could be animated and made into a little video clip (like Pete the Cat does). I like that it rhymes, but I don't really like how fast-paced it is and how pushy the gingerbread man was. It's a cute little book to read at Christmas time though.

I know of several children will love the sing song type rhymes that run throughout this book. As a baker, I love the line "Home is where the cookies are!"

I just loved this story it was the cutest story about the gingerbread needing a home. I loved the rhyme and repetition in the story. My grandson adored this story , I would love to have a copy at home and for my library at school. I would love to make some things to go along with the story for my teachers pay teachers store. The illustrations in this story are adorable and the plot just fit right at this time of the year. This story just popped with the lively gingerbread man , I loved when you had him dab. Just the cutest story.

An ‘updated’ take on the old folktale of The Gingerbread Man, with a new twist. Every Christmas season gingerbread men come to life, and they dance! Hip-hop dancing gingerbread men who moonwalk on shelves, do the twist, as well as the chicken dance - one after the other. If you want them to stop, you’ll need to build a house! Of course, it’s a Gingerbread house.

The ending adds a touch of sweet, ending with:
’Tis the season for giving.
It’s better by far.

After all, home is where…
All the cookies are…
Merry Christmas!

This will especially appeal to the youngest family members, who will enjoy the rhythm and rhyme it provides, as well as the illustrations - especially the gingerbread holiday decorations.

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC of The Gingerbread House by Laura Gia West.

At Christmas you build a beautiful house covered in candy. But who is the gingerbread house for? Why the gingerbread man of course! This Christmas season you can learn all about the Gingerbread Man.

This would be the perfect book to read right before making a gingerbread house with your family. The story is really cute and my 5 and 7 year old nanny kids both enjoyed it.

I'm excited to read this to my nephews next month and I look forward to adding it to our holiday collection.

It was a nicely illustrated Christmas book. I am not all that sure about the story. It started out cute but got a bit weird for me at the end.

Very cute take on the Gingerbread Man. Wonderful illustrations to accompany a warm holiday story. This would be a great addition to any child's library.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

The Gingerbread House is a cute, funny and full of christmas spirit children's books with a fun version of the gingerbread man tale.
The illustrations are warm and inviting and the rhyming versed story will make your audience giggle.
This is a great book to treat a little one to over Christmas.

My 4 year old son loved this book and immediately asked for it to be read again. It would be so much fun to “act” out the book with the relevant dance moves and creating a gingerbread house to invite your gingerbread man to live during the holidays. This book could easily be a new holiday tradition for my family, I am definitely going to buy a hard copy. It was fun, an easy read an adventure. The only drawback I have is that the font on the beginning of each sentence of the page was odd and it was hard to read at times. The odd font efinitely dampened the flow of the book.

The graphics are cute and the text is very easy to read with kids.

Definitely an recommendation

A fun, beautifully illustrated story of what it takes to keep the gingerbread men, who come to life , around until Christmas! Highly recommend!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. Unfortunately, I did not like this book at all and would not buy it for my nieces. It had weird words and had a confusing story line and mesaage. Thank you.

Picture book. I was disappointed in this book. Gingerbread men are one of my favorite Christmas symbols, so I was excited to read this story. I found the illustrations off-putting, almost like they were done in clip art. The story seemed a bit disjointed. For a tale about gingerbread cookie finding gingerbread house, I will stick with the classic Jan Brett story.

The rhyming will be popular with the kiddos. The illustrations are fun and it is always funny to see dabbing. My only issue with the book is the fancy first letters. The “T”s are hard to distinguish from an “L”. If you are looking for a quick, sweet holiday book, it is a good pick.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the DRC.

This is a Children's book. I read this book to my three kids (10, and twin boys 6). They all laughed so hard, and I even enjoyed the story. This is just a very cute and funny Christmas. I do not think there is a big message behind the story. We all just need a cute funny Christmas story this year. I am so glad I read this book to my kids tonight. The pictures are so cute as well. I got my kids to count the gingerbread men and other things as I read. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author (Laura Gia West) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
