I think that this one was even better than the first book in the series. I definitely think that you must read the first book to enjoy this one or you might not understand all of what is going on with the three sisters. It is going to be hard to wait to read the third book in the series. I loved Madysen and Daniel. I loved learning about Alaska and the raising of the sheep, sled dogs and making cheeses. Each of these characters are learning many things as they grow. I did not want to put this book down. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

The Powell sisters are back for the second installment of the Treasures of Nome series! Endless Mercy is Madysen's story, but her sisters remain as strong characters as well. I loved diving back into their world to catch up and see what they were all up to.

From Havyn's chickens to Madysen's sheep, there's never a dull moment on the farm. I won't spoil any of the details here, but oh boy does one little sheep in particular cause a scene! I don't think I can ever look at a sheep the same way again haha.

One thing that I absolutely love about this story was how Daniel was treated by those around him. Faith wasn't forced upon him and no one made him feel like an outcast because he was unsure of where he stood. They continued to worship the Lord and read His word together, but they didn't force Daniel to be a participant. They prayed for him but allowed the Lord to do the work in his heart that needed to be done. How easy is it for us to think if we just share enough of God's Word with others and try to convince them that they need Jesus, that their eyes will be opened and all will be well? Daniel's side of this story was a reminder that the only one with the ability to change hearts is God. We can lead others to Him, and should be sharing about Him, but we can't force it. We can help plant the seed, but it's God who does the watering.

I also loved the growth that Madysen experienced throughout her journey in this one. Although she thought she had good intentions for the goals she had for herself, she had to learn the difference between following her own ambitions and following the Lord's direction. She had some pretty tough emotions that she had to work through, but learning how to do so was part of her journey as well. And of course, her little sheep friends (and Havyn's chickens) helped add a few chuckles along the way.

Although I read the ebook of Forever Hidden when that one released, I ended up listening to the audio version of it again before reading this one. I personally wouldn't recommend reading this series out of order. Although it's possible to read this as a standalone, there's too much backstory that I think you would be missing out on if you skipped Forever Hidden.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and already can't wait for the next one, when we get to focus on Whitney's story. Even though there are parts of each character that I can see myself in, I think I can be like Whitney the most. So I'm anxious to see her get her happy ending too.

I loved the continuation of The Treasures of Nome series! This series really tugs at your heart. I felt all the characters are well developed and the story flows. I did have some issues with Madelyn choices and I was very annoyed. Same with Whitney on another matter… I can’t wait for book 3 to out. I’m sure it’s about Whitney.

“Endless Mercy,” by Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse, is a moving novel about Madysen Powell and the decisions she must make that will impact her life and her relationships. The decision of whether or not to have mercy for the father she thought was dead; the decision of whether or not to leave her family and chase her dreams; and the decision of whether or not to marry Buddy Merrick or to pursue her feelings for Daniel Beaufort will each take a part in shaping the rest of her life and the relationships she develops with family and friends. This book is wonderfully insightful and a pleasant read.

A beautiful and clean story of Madysen Powell, a talented girl loved by her community, but she dreams of performing for large crowds and traveling. She meets the grandson of her friend and neighbor, Daniel, and he becomes her dearest friend. She also meets Buddy Merrick, a man that can make her dreams come true. As she tries to decide whether to stay in Alaska with her family, or to travel with Buddy and his entertainment troupe, her feelings begin to confuse her. Buddy asks her to marry him, but the feelings she begins to have for Daniel give her reason to think it over. It's a great story I enjoyed reading! I've read the first book as well, but this also works as a stand alone novel.

Set in Nome, Alaska in the Late 1800s, Endless Mercy follows the life of three sisters who were abandoned by their drunken father. The girls thought their father dead, but then he shows up in their lives years later when their mother died suddenly. To make matters worse, they learn he has a new family. They struggle with trying to understand and trying to control the anger they feel. Can they find it in their hearts to forgive and show the mercy they know God expects from them?

This is a very moving and enjoyable story. Even though I can’t personally relate to the setting or to the time period, the characters really came to life for me. I loved the farm scenes, especially the ones with the sheep. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud several times. I was also very touched by how the family embraced the new siblings, even though they were reluctant to do so. This is the second book in a series and I have not yet read the first, but I am certain to do so now. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good, clean heartwarming story with a bit of romance added for good measure.

The second in the Treasures of Nome series highlights the youngest sister, Madylen. I recommend reading the first in the series to fully enjoy this book. Mady is a sweet, naive, strong willed young woman struggling with God's will for her life. I love the closeness of the three sisters, their passion for music and love of life. I like that the authors included all three sisters throughout instead of totally focusing in Mady.. I look forward to reading more about Whitney as she heals from her trauma. It will be interesting to see how the authors deal with Judas. Highly recommended!

This is the second book in a series, but can be read as a standalone. However, I do recommend reading the previous book in the series to give context to the side stories going on in this book.

I found myself wanting to shake sense into the female character at certain points in the story - however, I figure that's a good thing - if I wasn't invested in the story, I wouldn't care! I found the side stories in this book equally as important as the main story and I look forward to seeing how they turn out in the next book.
In full disclosure, I got this in exchange for an honest review. If you like the authors books or historical fiction, you will enjoy this series.

ENDLESS MERCY is the second novel in the Treasures of Nome series by TRACIE PETERSON and KIMBERLEY WOODHOUSE, but it can easily be read as a stand alone. It is a lovely book with well developed characters and plot and a strong Christian message based largely on John 16:33 where Jesus says, "In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world"
The main story starts in 1904 in Nome, Alaska, with a flashback to 1891 in the prologue. The three beautiful Powell sisters are still great favourites as they perform their music at the Roadhouse, but quite a lot seems to be happening at once to turn their lives upside down. A great deal of wisdom, mercy and forgiveness is required of each one of them.
This is mostly Maddie's story. What a beautiful yet naive young girl, with her strong faith and love for her family and her flock of sheep.
I am looking forward to the third book in the series.
Endless Mercy is a most enjoyable read and one I can highly recommend for anyone who enjoys historical romance.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

Endless Mercy by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse is an excellent historical fiction novel that is the second book in The Treasures of Nome series. This book starts off where the first novel, Forever Hidden, ends. While it could be a stand-alone, it will truly be treasured if read after the first. The first book focused on Havyn Powell, while this book highlights the youngest of the three sisters: Madysen. This book takes place 1914 Nome, Alaska. This book, and series, is truly wonderful and has it all: historical fiction, romance, suspense, mystery, faith, and purpose.

There are so many wonderful things about this book:

I love the family dynamics between the three sisters and that each book gives each young woman a voice and a turn. I love reading about their musical abilities, their connections with one another, yet their individual personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. The friendship, loyalty, passion, kindness, strong moral compasses, and faith that they have within themselves and within their family is so refreshing to see. In this novel specifically, I love their growth and change as the story progresses.
Despite the obstacles and losses these girls have faced, and are yet to face, they stay steadfast, strong, and always seem to find their way home.

I love the location of Nome, Alaska. The dichotomy of a beautiful landscape, yet such harsh conditions that one can face, makes the story that much more breathtaking.

I love Madysen’s story, the choices she decides to make, the forgiveness and mercy she surrounds herself with, and the chemistry and romance she is gifted in regards to Daniel is truly enjoyable.

I love this family’s story and I look forward to reading about Whitney.

5/5 stars
