Once again Beller delivers the perfect story, a swoony mountain man, and a sweet romance. Yes there's danger too, all with a faith theme that touches your heart. I just love her stories.

A story of second chances and love in the mountains of Montana.

Nate Long is working hard to right the wrongs that he committed while running with an outlaw gang, and standing by his brother through his recovery. He can't help but be drawn to the lovely Laura Hannon tending to his injured twin, but can she see past his mistakes?

Nate is a likable hero, I admired his determination to pay back the people that he and his brother stole from in the past, and how he is willing to sacrifice his own comfort to make it possible. Laura is very kind and despite everything that she has been through, keeps looking for the best in people. I loved how they bonded over their shared faith and hearts for helping others.

This was a quick read with likable characters, set in the rugged frontier. A wonderful conclusion to the series, with protagonists who don't let their pasts define them. I liked the strong themes of faith and second chances as well. A wholly enjoyable read.

Classic Misty M Beller. Beautifully written. Excellent character development. Heartwarming. Redemptive. Savor this novel. You will not be disappointed. Five stars.

This story revolves around admirable characters who are striving to overcome their circumstances that seem to keep kicking them while they're down. Nate and Laura each have faith to rely on for strength through their frustrations, and it gives them something in common as their friendship deepens, as well as the fascinating cave in the mountains and its hidden occupants. The pace of the story moved a bit too slowly for me, and kept referencing Laura and Nate's experiences from the previous book, so I don't think it should be read as a stand alone. Overall the book provided the author's trademark storytelling style of the harsh wilderness and frontier living with a hefty dose of faith-filled themes.

This is book #3 in the “Hearts of Montana” series. If you haven’t read the first two books in this series, you can easily pick up on the story as you read through this book. Misty Beller’s many fans will love this new story that features Nate Long and Laura Hannon.


When I’ve reviewed previous books by Misty Beller, I’ve always commented about how her descriptive writing makes me feel as if I’m traveling in the wilderness on the mountain trails. In this story, I could easily imagine the caverns deep in the cave and feel the winter winds and the chill from the snow. Since both of these are an integral part of the story, the author did an excellent job helping the reader experience what the characters were going through.


I had sympathy for both Nate and Laura and the tragedies in their lives. I liked that Nate’s faith helped encourage him to do everything possible with the new chance that had been given him. Laura’s compassion was an inspiring part of the book, and the romance between the two was a sweet one.


I’m hoping there’s another book in this series. I’d love to know what happens next for Aaron, and also for Bright Star.

Laura Hannon is kidnapped and forced to shoot one of her attackers Aaron Long, who is part of the gang. Laura then becomes the nurse that takes care of him.

Laura, with God's help, sets her resentment aside. Aaron's brother, Nate, tries to make up for his mistakes even though Aaron continues to sulk in self-pity.

The story is another great read from Misty and gives us lessons in forgiveness, trust, and a second chance for redemption. It's a beautiful story in God's love, an inspirational love story, and an inspiring story of hope.

The characters were well fleshed out and I especially liked Laura's determination, willingness to help others, and faith.

Laura is a bit of a challenge seeker, and is acting as a nurse and helper for the doctor and his wife. This is a continuation from a previous book, where Laura had been taken as a hostage and she accidentally shot Aaron as he tried to stop the other kidnapper. It had shattered his leg and she was helping with his care. Arron's twin brother Nate also came to town. He hadn't wanted to be part of the kidnapping. But it was all over now and he was trying to take on repaying all of the debt of what the gang had stolen. He is a good man, but is having a hard time believing he is worthy of friends. Laura is having a hard time that she was responsible for shattering Aaron's leg. They both have a lot to work through, and the story is well told. They both have strong faith to help them through danger and injuries. Excellent read. 3D characters that warm your heart.

What I think you should know:
Faith’s Mountain Home by Misty M Beller is the third book in the Hearts of Montana series. This book takes place in the fall of 1867 in Montana Territory. While this book can be read as a standalone I HIGHLY recommend that you read the prior books in the series as this book picks up where Love’s Mountain Quest left off and includes the characters from the previous two books. It follows Laura who was kidnapped during book two.

What you might need to know:
Laura was kidnapped during book two and is now caring for one of her kidnappers. She struggles with Aaron’s injuries, especially since her brother took his life when he could not cope with a similar injury.

What I think about this book:
Beller has once again transported me to 1867 Montana and into a story that captures my attention from the first page to the last. I was excited to get Laura’s story after reading about her harrowing experience. Nate was more of a wildcard as he was technically with the villains of the last book. I enjoyed getting to know Laura and Nate, it was interesting to see how both of them carried their guilt over the past and how it shaped them to be who they are. Beller surprised me with some of the twists that the story took, it was everything that I hoped for and so much more. I hate to see the series come to an end, but look forward to the next adventure that Beller takes us on.

Ok, I went into this thinking that Faith was going to be the name of the female lead character. Nope, it's Laura. For some reason that struck me as funny so I thought I would share that. Laura has every reason in the world to distrust and disliked Nate. I'm not certain what all happened between the two of them (this is apparently book 3 in this series), but the author gave enough information that I didn't feel completely lost.

I liked Laura's out look in life and how she shows grace and mercy. Nate is a good guy, just didn't always do the right thing. The way they 'got together' was unique and I enjoyed the element of mystery here. Really, the author did a good job with the story and I liked it start to finish.

Another beautiful story in the mountains. Love the descriptive accounts and great characters. While there is plenty of guilt feelings going around there is also so much kindness, giving and healing taking place throughout. The main characters put themselves out for many others and find they enjoy doing it together. I enjoyed the faith aspect throughout this story and the sweet romance that grew through their adventures and trials. Definitely one of my favorite authors! I requested a copy through the publisher and NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. I would certainly buy it for our church library. Is the portrayal of American Indians accurate? It is hard to know whether or not someone will challenge the book on racial grounds these days. Where I didn't find any cause for alarm, others might.

Laura Hannon was kidnapped by a gang of thieves, who have now been captured. She’s living in the doctor’s house in Settler’s Fort and helping care for Aaron, one of the kidnappers – the one who tried to help her, and who she accidentally shot. She feels guilty about Aaron, and nervous around Nate, Aaron’s brother, who visits regularly.

Nate was also part of the gang, but turned away and is now working in the local mine and saving every spare penny to repay the money the gang stole. But after meeting Laura at a hidden cave, he also wants to spend more time with her, especially after the discover two Native Americans living in the cave who need help.

Nate is an excellent character—someone who has done wrong in the past (although for what he thought were good reasons), and who has now become a Christian and who is trying to make up for his past misdeeds. Unfortunately, that’s not always easy.

Faith’s Mountain Home is the third book in Misty M Beller’s Hearts of Montana series. I read and reviewed the first book in the series (Hope’s Highest Mountain), but haven’t read the second. While Faith’s Mountain Home worked well as a standalone novel, there were times when I felt I didn’t understand some of the character’s history because I hadn’t read Love’s Mountain Quest. At least, I assume the kidnapping and Nate’s subsequent conviction and redemption was part of the previous story. That unknown backstory was the one thing that annoyed me in Faith’s Mountain Home, and I would have enjoyed it more if I’d better understood what came before.

Apart from that, I enjoyed the story. I very much like Misty M Beller’s writing. She does an excellent job of writing Christian characters who feel like real people, and puts them in stories that have plenty of conflict but still allow for a happy ending. Her stories are easy to read, engaging, and a perfect way to relax.

I didn't realize this was Book #3 of a series when I downloaded it. It is not a standalone title--I felt lost in the first few chapters. My library doesn't buy series Christian fiction, although I know it's very popular in public libraries.

Faith's Mountain Home is book number three in Misty M. Beller's Hearts of Montana series. While I had read the first book when it came out, I had somehow missed book two in between there. While I think it was okay as a standalone, I definitely feel as though I would have appreciated it a lot more had I read in order. As such, I would highly suggest stopping right now and going back and reading the first two books before starting this one.

Now that we've got that out of the way, onto the story itself. I find that Misty M. Beller does a great job of creating a world that feels life like--- both through the setting and the characters and this one truly is no different. Faith's Mountain Home is Laura Hannon's story. Those who have read the series in it's entirety will know that she was introduced previously. If you are reading this as a standalone, I think you'll be able to catch up just fine, but again, I suggest reading all for the fullest appreciation. I enjoyed her romance with Nate Long. I found the story to be the perfect blend of romance with history, with just enough mystery thrown in to keep things interesting. Overall, a good read and one fans of historical romance can greatly enjoy.

Coming off the heels of the kidnapping that took place in the previous book, Laura Hannon is trying to regain her sense of safety along with a sense of purpose she hasn't had for a very long time. Feeling very guilty for shooting the wrong man, even though he also helped perpetrate in the kidnapping, especially since he may never walk again.

Nate Long loves and has stuck with his twin brother Aaron since birth. Even when he wanted to get out of the gang and Aaron wanted to stay in. That bespoke of loyalty. Now that the gang has been brought to justice, Nate is thankful that he and Aaron have been shown mercy by those they harmed. Aaron is in the most pain after having his leg shattered but Nate is trying to work to pay back the debt he owes to those they harmed. In the meantime he is falling for Laura, the one Aaron helped kidnapped.

The atmospheric scenery of the mountains and the cave that has so mesmerized Laura and Nate really pull you into the story. Add in a few surprising characters and everyone's world begins to change. Nothing seems to ever go right for them and they are also carrying a lot from their pasts as well. These two might have been the most accident prone couple in any books I have read before. I think it gave them an endearing quality, their issues were certainly not with pride.

I liked revisiting this town and getting closure for Laura, Nate, and Aaron.

I have loved each book in this series, but I think Faith’s Mountain Home is my favorite of the three. There is something about watching two people in desperate need of healing in mind and spirit find each other. It was a sweet, slow-burn romance, but what induced all the sighs and warm fuzzies for me was the significance of Laura and Nate finding affection after all they had lived through. I admired Laura’s determination to forge ahead with her life and heal her own hurts by helping others. She is such a gentle creature, and I was rooting for her to find happiness from the very beginning.
Nate is such a hard-working man. Generous with his time and his possessions, he is always willing to help anyone in need. Trying his best to live a redeemed life, it’s encouraging to watch Nate’s young faith mature.
This story may not have had the epic journey that I’ve read in other books by Misty M. Beller. But I loved it just the same. I don’t want to give away the plot, but like all of Misty’s books, there’s plenty of beautiful mountain vistas, adventure, danger, and sweet romance. If you enjoy Christian historical fiction, especially stories set in the West, you will love Faith’s Mountain Home.

I love this author. Her books are always easy to read and capture you with the first sentence refusing to release you until the last word. And even then sometimes you’re still invested and want there to be more to the story.

This book is no different.

Faith’s Mountain Home is book three in a series. The Hearts of Montana series is definitely one that you want to read in order. This is due to the fact that you are following the same people through the series and seeing how they handle both life and faith.

I really enjoyed getting to go back to the story of Laura and Nate and Aaron of course, but we all know it’s Laura and Nate that steal the show. Well, maybe some of that praise belongs to the little Native American girl that we meet in the caves as well as she is simply precocious.

I highly recommend you read this book but first read the first and second books in this series so you’re not lost or missing out. Also, if you happen across any other books by this author you should pick them up to read too.

"Faith’s Mountain Home" by Misty Beller is a third installment in the “Hearts of Montana” series. Beller is a master of these series novels as she so perfectly incorporates characters from past stories so you still get to know about the lives of the friends you made in previous books. The third installment in the hearts of Montana is no exception. I love knowing about the characters of Ingrid and Dr. Bradley from Book 2, "Love’s Mountain Quest" while learning more about Laura Hannon and the bandits who kidnapped her.

"Faith’s Mountain Home" is the story of Laura Hannon and Nate Long who met in book 2 when Laura was kidnapped and Nate, one of the bandits who did not support the kidnapping, tried to help her in escaping. In this third story you learn more about both characters’ past history and traumas that lead them to be the people they are today and watch both the story of love and self-acceptance unfold. I find Beller’s stories to be completely captivating and both steady and exciting in pace. There is just enough excitement to keep you going and enthralled, but also the minor details that keep you engaged with who the characters are and the relationships they are developing.

Beller creates believable and relatable characters, takes us into the mountains and leaves us inspired both in faith and life. I love that you continue to learn more about past characters who play more minor roles in this story but were major players in the first books. While the books are filled with adventure and excitement there is a familiarity to the characters and their faith that feels like an old friend. I always greatly anticipate the next book by Beller and this one left me feeling the exact same way!
