Misty M. Beller has become a friend of mine and I have never met her. But I know that when I open one of her books I was in for something special. I can't resist any of her books. She is able to transport me to another time and location page by page. This book was no exception.

Laura and Nate had apprehension about each other. They were both from troubled pasts. Could they trust their feelings? Could they trust each other?

This story was a great example of how GOD can change lives and relationships.

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Laura Hannon is living in the home of Doc Micah and his wife Ingred. In return for her room and board, Laura helps with household chores and she also assists Doc Micah by cleaning the clinic and handling the supplies. Aaron is one of the patients currently at the clinic. Laura accidentally shot Aaron in the thigh during the time she was being held captive by his gang. His leg is so badly injured, it is feared he will never walk again. Nate is Aaron’s twin brother. He spends as much time visiting with Aaron at the clinic as his busy work schedule at the mine will allow. Nate is working as many hours as he can to pay off the debt he and his brother acquired in recompense for their part in the robberies committed by their gang. As Laura and Nate begin to spend more time together, she finds she really likes him. However, she doesn’t know if she can trust him. He seems to have changed and he appears to now be leading a good and law abiding life, but Laura knows that appearances can be deceiving.

This is the third book in a series. I have not read the first two books so I know I am missing much of the backstory; nevertheless, I found the book to be quite enjoyable. I really liked the character of Laura. She is a strong woman. Even though she has lost those closest and most dear to her, she knows God has a purpose for her life and she seeks earnestly to find it. She is also very kind and has a forgiving nature. In addition, she has a great sense of adventure which I really admire. I also enjoyed the place and time setting of this story. When I think about the kind of person, especially a woman, who would venture to the frontier during this time period, a woman like Laura is who comes to mind.

The pace moved a bit slow for my liking, but that’s the only drawback I had. The story was clean and uplifting with just enough romance and suspense to keep it really interesting. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a good clean historical romance novel.

Faith’s Mountain Home by Misty M. Belle
A great read set in the historical old west. The plot of the story is original. The characters are
likeable and easy to visualize. I liked the setting of the book. The author did a nice job entwining
the character's stories. This faith based story looks at forgiveness, hope, sacrifice, love, compassion
and accepting our Lord as Savior. From the book: “that was more likely due to the freedom of finally
coming to understand God’s overwhelming love for her. Of finally grieving Will’s death the way she’d
needed to. The death of all her family, really, although some she’d grieved long before they breathed
their last.” I would recommend this book for historical fiction readers, Christian fiction fans, mystery
readers and inspirational fans. This book was provided through Celebrate Lit, the publisher and author for my review. The opinions expressed are my own thoughts. #NetGalley

I had a feeling I would fall in love with Laura's story, and I was not disappointed. Faith is a concept that we all want, but going through the trials that build that faith can be harrowing. Misty Beller did a marvelous job of showing that growth through Laura and Nate.
I found both characters equally appealing. Laura has to deal with her guilt while Nate struggles to find anything redeemable in himself. As he struggles to find his worth, I'm reminded of God's love and the fact that none of us are worthy.
I love when I'm drawn deep into a story world to the point that I never want to leave and the characters become real. That's what happened here. I would love to see another book in the series telling Aaron's story.

Nate Long has always watched over his identical twin brother, Aaron, even when it put him on the wrong side of the law. When Aaron is wounded in a shootout, the brothers are taken to Settler's Fort to recover. As Nate works to make reparations for their past, he marvels at the nursing Aaron receives under the care of a woman with all the reason in the world to resent him.

Laura Hannon knows what it is to start over, and she knows Nate's newfound faith is real. What she can't look past is how far he allowed himself to be led astray by his brother's weaknesses.

As a fledgling trust grows between Nate and Laura, they stumble upon a mysterious cave in the mountains that may not be as uninhabited as it seems. While working together to unravel the secrets surrounding the cave, will the new lives they seek for themselves include love, or does too much stand between them?

I would class this book as a romance novel with a little bit of mystery thrown in. We met Laura in the second book of this series. It's not necessary Love's Mountain Quest before you read this book. But is would fill in some of the blanks. Laura helps the local doctor tend to Aaron, who she shot and was one of her kidnappers, she keeps drawing closer to Nate. Nate is Aaron's twin brother. As their story unfolds, they have quite the adventure, Laura sprains her ankle. Nate dislocates his shoulder. Then they encounter an injured Indian and his granddaughter. All in all a good book.

I was given this book by Bethany House Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

I have loved the Hearts of Montana series set in the 1800s! Laura Hannon is a great female protagonist as she helps in the clinic at Settler's Fort and tries to start a new life there. Laura wonders if she can completely trust Nate Long who was previously part of a gang of robbers but has turned his life over to God and is working to make restitution. There is certainly an attraction between the two! The story gets more interesting when Laura stumbles upon a cave in the mountains and finds an injured elderly Indian man and his young granddaughter living there! Misty Beller brings the past to life! You will enjoy this tale of the Montana frontier! I received an advance reader copy through Misty Beller, Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.

Story Notes

Misty M. Beller's third story in her Hearts of Montana is a nice one but it's definitely not my favorite. I wanted to like this book more but just felt like it fell flat after the first two books that were very well done. The writing here was good but the plot of the story and its fleshing out was lack-luster in comparison. To be perfectly honest, I cared more about Nate than about Laura as I couldn't find a connection with her. She needed more dimension and depth to make her character match up with Nate. I kept waiting for something really exciting to happen to them like it did in the other books but the "action" of this story was short and a bit boring. I was also really put off by Aaron's constantly bad attitude and rudeness. He seemed so much nicer in the previous book that it was like his character was someone entirely different in this story. I did like the passages about Nate and Laura helping the elderly Indian man and his granddaughter. I'm not sure I can really recommend this book to others as a good read but it's tolerable and necessary if there's going to be future books. So read it to get the necessary information but I'm not sure I could place too much expectation on really enjoying it.

I received this temporary complimentary E-book from Bethany House Publishers via NetGalley in order to provide a fair and honest review. I will receive no fiscal compensation for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

This book was so good! I remember thinking in the previous book, what happens to Faith, how is she going to recover from this? What about the captor that tried to help? Her story is a beautifully written and easy to follow. Misty never fails to deliver a story that draws in the reader and brings you back into the past.

This book takes up right where Book #2, Hope's Mountain Quest left off. It was a story full of adventure, love, pain, and drama. I don't think I would have enjoyed the story as much if I have not read books #1 and #2 so I suggest that you read them first, but there were some unexpected turns in this story. What will be especially nice is that you won't have to wait to read the next book since they are already in print. I received a copy of this book for my honest review.

This is a sweet love story between Nate and Laura who we met in Love’s Mountain Quest. It takes place in 1867 in the Montana Territory when Nate is working to pay off his and his brother Aaron’s debt and Laura is now living with Doc Micah and Ingrid. Even though this is book 3 in the Hearts of Montana series, I do believe it can be read as a stand alone.

As Nate and Laura deal with different trials together, they come to care for each other and learn to trust in God. There seems to be a new adventure around every corner.

If you’re in the mood for a sweet and clean romance, give Misty Beller’s books a try. I think you’ll enjoy them!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

This is book three in The Hearts Of Montana series and now I have read all three of them. Beller did not disappoint in this one. I loved all of them. Reading the frontier stories especially those taking place in mountainous areas are so very interesting. In this book we visit some of the characters of the previous book. I loved the way that Beller portrays forgiveness although it is very hard for those in this story. How it takes faith in God to be able to do so. We have the healing of the physical and also emotionally. The characters are well described and believable. Also a budding romance. You will enjoy reading Laura Hannon and Nate Long’s story in Faith’s Mountain Home. Another winner in this series. I’m looking forward to Beller’s next book……..

Faith’s Mountain Home is the third book in Misty Beller’s Hearts of Montana series, based in mostly untamed 1860’s Montana. It’s a great time period, and she does it justice.

We got to know Laura in book 2, when she was kidnapped by a gang. During the showdown at the end of that story, during the rescue, Laura fires a gun to defend herself and ends up hitting the wrong kidnapper in the leg, shattering his femur. Aaron was actually trying to stop his fellow kidnapper from shooting Laura, but, well, accidents happen. Book 3 finds Laura working as an assistant at the doctor’s office in Settler’s Fort and doing her best in her free time to help Aaron because she still feels guilty over being the reason he’s laid up.

Also spending as much time as he can with Aaron is his twin brother Nate. Nate had been a reluctant member of the gang with Aaron, but during Laura’s kidnapping he had attempted to help her escape, landing him tied up beside her. Nate and Aaron’s actions allowed their penance for their crimes to be restitution, instead of a death sentence. With Aaron laid up, Nate has been working himself to the bone paying their debts and spending almost nothing on comforts for himself.

Nate knows he’s completely unworthy, but he can’t help being drawn to Laura, especially her adventuresome spirit. A friendship begins between them when they stumble on a cave in the mountainside... and an Indian girl and her injured grandfather they find there.

Nate and Laura’s efforts to befriend and help the pair is enjoyable and becomes the vehicle they needed to realize their feelings growing toward each other. Other hurdles and dangers arise, but the sweet romance in this story only grows as it is tested.

While I probably still liked Book 1 the best, this one is a close second. I liked Nate’s character as he grows in his faith and becomes a new creation. Little things (like mentioning suspicious activity to others in the community) show how hard he is working to be an honorable man. I liked Laura’s attitude in this book. Oh my goodness, has this girl gone through some stuff in her life! But she has persevered. She’s strong and doesn’t need a man to help her... even though she comes to like it when Nate does. She can be a bit stubborn, but she is a ridiculously hard worker. They both are, as they had to be to survive on the frontier.

I enjoyed this story and you will too. Reading it without the others would be ok, but it’s a richer story if you read them in order so you know more about some of the secondary characters, and Laura and Nate’s history as well.

Thank you to Bethany House and Netgalley for the chance to review this book. I was not required to post a positive review.

With Faith’s Mountain Home, Misty M. Beller concludes her Hearts of Montana series with a beautiful story about forgiveness.

I’ve never not enjoyed a Misty M. Beller book, and this was no exception. Especially since I became endeared to Laura in the previous book, Love’s Mountain Quest.

However, if you’re looking for a lot of action, you won’t find it here. While the book never felt slow to me, it doesn’t have the fast pace of some other books. I didn’t find this to be a problem, though. Both Nate and Laura kept my attention as they worked through the pain of their pasts.

I think that’s what kept my attention the most. Both Nate and Laura have things they still struggle with, and then there’s the common ground with Aaron, Nate’s twin. They both feel a responsibility for him, Nate because he’s family and Laura because she blames herself for his injury. But I liked that this wasn’t the only common ground between them. The discovery of the cave and the subsequent mystery surrounding it gives them something to bond over that isn’t fraught with emotion and regret. This adds to their relationship and makes it more deep and meaningful as they learn about one another.

Beller does an amazing job developing these characters and sweeping you along on their inner journey. I never found myself bored because the characters felt so alive. I wanted to see what they were going to learn next. What they would discover next. And this kept my attention to the end.

There’s a beautiful spiritual arc about how much God loves us and His plan for our lives. Nate’s faith is new but real, and Laura, whose faith is not as new, still struggles to rely on her faith. Learning not only to extend forgiveness but to accept it provides such a rich, deeper meaning to this novel.

Beller also provides enough background information that this book can be read as a standalone. However, I think you’ll enjoy it more if you read the series in order, especially since characters from Hope’s Highest Mountain and Love’s Mountain Quest make an appearance.

Overall, Faith’s Mountain Home is a beautiful romance historical fiction fans will love.

I love the thread of redemption that flows throughout this story.
Nate is making amends for past decisions, Aaron must deal with the pain of his wounds both physical and spiritual, and Laura is caught between the past and the future.
Their lives are intertwined by the consequences of one action.
This book is full of well written characters unique in their personalities and motives. The secondary characters are realistic and rounded out the story.
Each person wrestles with their own demons as they grow individually and in relationship with each other, and we find that redemption is more than just a word. Excellent book.

I wondered how Laura would get through her trauma after reading Book 2. I really enjoyed reading Books 2 & 3 back to back it isn’t something I do often. This story has a lot about forgiveness, empathy and getting past fears. At least those were things I took away. I really enjoyed the interaction with Bright Sun and Eagle Soaring. Would love to see more on them both. I hope there is another book in the works!

I received a complimentary copy of this ARC from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.

Misty Beller has written another wonderful story. I just love her writing style.
I love them because they are good clean reads and have wonderful Christian messages.

The way Beller writes makes the readers feel like they were in a part of the story.
I enjoyed reading about Aaron, Nate and Laura and their adventures.

4 1/2 stars. Really enjoyed Faith's Mountain Home (Hearts of Montana, #3) by Misty M. Beller. If you enjoy books that take place in the old west this is it. This is the story of Nate Long and Laura Hannon. A women trying to overcome the memories of her past and start a new future and outlaws trying to make up for their past mistakes. A secret cave and new friends to discover. There is also mystery, danger, and romance. A great story about forgiveness and the redemptive power of God. I have read several of Ms. Beller's books and look forward to more from her.

I received this book from the author and Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

While working together to unravel the secrets surrounding the cave, will the new lives they seek for themselves include love, or does too much stand between them?”
Impressions: This is the third book in the “Hearts of Montana” series. I usually can pick up a book and remember the previous book but I struggled with this one. I ended up reading this almost as a stand alone novel since I remembered nothing from the previous book. It was a well written and easy to read story overall, despite my lapse in memory.
Rated: Kissing, violence during a robbery attack
Liked: I enjoyed the drama of this book.
Disliked: I struggled with Nate's character. He seemed too good to be true. His past has so much controversy and for him to just all of a sudden be so upstanding and faithful? I was skeptical. Aarons feelings and attitude, for the most part, was true to what I imagine it might have looked like however in the end he took a surprisingly sudden change in attitude. It made it feel too pulled together just for the ending.
Quotes: “…don’t let his brokenness break you down.”
“You can’t move forward if you hold that grudge forever.”

In Faith's Mountain Home, Misty Beller has done it again!  Laura and Nate  share times of adventure, suspense and danger and of course romance. No one does this better than Misty and yet it is all wrapped up in beautiful story of forgiveness,  compassion and redemption. I was hooked from the moment I picked up the book. Now I'm left not so patiently waiting for yet another adventure from Misty.

The third instalment of the Hearts of Montana series, Faith's Mountain Home is a wonderful, faith-inspired read. It can be read as a standalone, but you'll enjoy it more if you read the previous two books first. I've only read the first and third, so I missed a major moment in Laura Hannon's life, that kickstarts this novel for us.

Nestled in the mountains of Montana, the cave Laura and Nate stumble upon harbours a secret or two. Both affected by one pivotal tragedy in their lives, Nate works feverishly to pay off a great debt and Laura carries the burdens of tending to the ill, and her previous mistakes.

With characters and setting akin to Tracie Peterson, Misty M Beller spins a tale of forgiveness and inspiration. Welcoming from the first page, Faith's Mountain home will suck you in till the last, and leave you wanting for more.

There are some minor details that could been worked a bit tighter - there were multiple uses of the same phrase/word, enough to draw attention to it and pull the reader out of the story. And while there was a mystery, I felt it was rather predictable. I found the mystery to be a bit lacking in this regard, but as an inspirational story, I found it to be a very enjoyable and satisfying read. I'm glad I discovered this author.

My thanks to the publisher and author for an ARC via Netgalley. A positive review was not required and all opinions are my own.
