As a big fan of the "Twisted Tale" series, I was excited to read these. Hercules was one of my favorite Disney movies growing up, and I was excited to see how this book would tackle Meg's story. This book is a great twist on the classic Disney movie, developing Meg in a satisfying way without contradicting Disney canon. This novel, full of emotion, heart, adventure, and great character depth, would be a great addition to anyone's library, but especially those who love Disney, Hercules, or Greek mythology.

I always want to like the Twisted Tales, but I’m just not a fan. They never seem like the characters from the movies I love. Writing is fine, and taken as a separate text, I would probably like it more, but eh

This was an absolutely fun time! I love that the characters still sounded authentic to the original movie characters. Meg is one of my favorite characters and seeing her get some spotlight and history was such a delight.

I was really excited about this book - Meg is one of my favorite Disney heroines, and I was intrigued to hear more of her inner dialogue. It started strong - an epic quest, having to think about your ex-boyfriend - all harrowing and interesting things. However, Meg as a character really disappointed me. There was no sass or gumption that felt authentic, and I didn't see the shrewd, smart, and distrusting Meg that I loved from the movie. I was also disappointed by the way the storyline ultimately went. It should have been emotional and moving, but the writing just wasn't there.

I knew I was going to love this book with my whole chest, but dang, it still caught me off-guard with how much I loved it! This might just be my most favorite book from the Twisted Tales series so far. If you're familiar with Disney's Hercules then let me tell you that this book directly picks up right after the movie ends. However, this time, we're following Megara's story and Hera tasks her with a quest, one that will lead to Meg becoming a god to be with Hercules. I loved this so freaking much. I had always wondered what things would have looked like from Meg's perspective and we get a lot more of her backstory in this book than we did in the movies. We even see Hades and Persephone. That's right, we get to see Hades and Persephone together! Oh it was so freaking good, friends! All of that aside, this book is a love letter to those who have started or are on their healing journey. We see Meg do a lot of healing through this journey, as she goes through every trial, and comes to terms with her past. We also see Meg learn what it truly means to love, to really understand what it means to open your heart with someone especially after suffering from a great heartbreak. And we get to see Meg build her friendships with Phil and Pegasus, which was so wholesome and just stole my whole dang heart. This was just everything to me. Truthfully, I might be a little bias because Hades is my favorite Greek god, but I did hype this book up a lot for myself and I was worried I wasn't going to love it as much as I did because of that hype. However, this was everything I wanted from this book, though. Do I think this book will be for everyone, no. I still recommend giving this book a chance though especially if you wanted a continuation of the movie, Hercules.

I suppose I am not the target demographic for this book. I found the choice to describe the characters as though they were literally cartoons (with green and pink skin) was so strange that I honestly couldn't get past the first couple chapters.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me an advanced copy of this book to read and review.

I just couldn't get into this one. I think bc Hercules isn't one of my favorites and this goes way too far off the main story (the nice thing about these twisted tales Is that they diverge while keeping the heart of the original). And it's not that it goes off the mythology either, bc Hadestown did that and I adore it. It just wasn't my thing.

I could read these books anytime! I really love the Twisted Tales series!

In this twisted tale, we learn about the plight of Meg from Hercules. Meg is insanely in love with Hercules, but his father, the one and only king of Olympus Zeus tells her she is not good enough to be with his son. Why because she’s mortal of course. Meg finds a way to become a god all she has to do is complete a ridiculous quest. Too bad she has sold her soul in-vain to Hades.

This one probably is one of my favorites of the twisted tales. I also loved Mirror, Mirror and Conceal, Don’t Feel by the same author. I was so happy to see all the characters from the movie ride along side, Meg, as she completes ridiculous, quests, set forth by Hera so she can become a god. All I can say Pegasus 😍😍😍😍😍😍😊😊😊😊😊😊

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who has the smallest iota of love for the movie Hercules. Or even just Greek mythology in general I was so happy to get this arc into finally finish it.!!!

I always loved the Hercules movie as a kid and this was such an interesting take on it! I’m so glad I got to read this copy! I’ve read a few of these retellings and loved all of them! I give it 3.75 stars out of 5!

I loved reading this book so much! I love this series a lot, and Hercules is one of my favourite Disney movies! And this one's twist was pretty great in that it takes place right at the end of the movie-so there's no plot points that they have to hit to stay familiar. Kind of like Mulan, but in a totally different way. The story could really go anywhere within the confines of who these characters were!

This is Meg's story, and I really enjoyed being in her head! She has a lot of insecurities about people leaving, about loving, and Hercules becoming a god really puts a cramp in their relationship. I really enjoyed watching her go on this journey, and really find her self-worth!

I love to hate on the idea that Zeus saw where Hercules was as a child-and left him there, so that he'd be in a position to help once he grew up. It's a pretty awful thing for a father to use his son like that, and pretty heartbreaking for his mother. It does make sense, he had most of that potion and only retained his god strength, but it was still hard.

In the movie, it was only briefly touched upon how Meg sold her soul to Hades to help her lover, and when she got back to him, he'd found another. This book focuses a lot on that. I loved how that story turned out, and how everything worked out for these characters! The journey that Meg goes on was really great, and I loved watching her learn new lessons about trusting other people, as well as yourself!

Loved reading this book, and I am this close to being fully caught up with this series, yeah!

An action-packed book that rightly focuses on one of Disney's best heroines. Meg has always been one of my favorite Disney characters, and I love this retelling that focuses on Meg's independence. Her character grows so much in this novel by Jen Calonita, and it's one that I'll remember. As with every Twisted Tale, there are just a few too many cheesy scenes or lines for my liking. However, the storyline and the writing are strong, succinct and immersive.

*** I have received and read an E – ARC from NetGalley in exchange for honest feedback. I’ll thoughts and opinions are my own. ***

I love it when a fairytale is twisted, and this is no exception.

You don’t have to read the whole series to be able to follow. But I always feel important to see where the other starts and where they currently are.

I think if you watched the Disney animated Hercules, you’ll love this book. But I believe that the book definitely plays upon nostalgia to get your attention.

It’s great seeing Meg get a starring role, since she was the best part of the movie (for me).

One of the greatest twists on a disney book in a long time. I loved that this story focused on Megara and her quest to become immortal so she could stay with Hercules. We get to learn more about her and everything she actually went through and more in depth as to why she sold her soul to Hades. It was just chefs kiss perfection!!!!

Hercules was one of my favorite Disney movies so of course, I had to get my hands on this Twisted Tales retelling! Instead of Hercules giving up his godhood to be with Meg, Meg now finds herself in a position of earning her way into Mount Olympus in order to be with the man she loves. It won't be easy. Not only does she have to face physical dangers but she'll have to face inner demons as well.

What I really loved about this retelling was that it gave more depth to Meg's characters. She wasn't just some independent, commitment-phobe young woman. We got to see how Meg's "independence" was also a weakness and where it came from. The story also expanded on the whole angle about her boyfriend leaving her for someone else. I thought all these changes added so much detail to her character and she felt more fleshed out than her movie counterpart.

Not only did the changes add more to her character, but it also affected her relationship with Hercules. While it was a little frustrating to see them having bumps in their relationship, I actually loved how it made it feel more realistic. In the movie, things moved pretty quickly, but now Meg has the time to reanalyze her decisions. She questions her love for Hercules and their future. In a way, seeing her take the time to think things through before fully committing made their relationship feel like more of a reward. They both fought for it and I loved it.

My only complaint would be that things moved very quickly plot-wise. I would've loved to see Meg's journey stretched out just a bit more. All in all, this was a quick, fun read that I'd recommend for any fans of Disney films or retellings!

I am extremely honored to have been provided with an ARC through Netgalley and Disney Publishing Worldwide in exchange for an honest review.

Let me first say: I love Disney’s Hercules movie. That has been my top comfort movie since I was a child. So to finally have a book that follows Meg? Please, I was so thrilled! Go the Distance is a stunning and fun novel that follows the aftermath of the notable movie Disney’s Hercules. It follows the question: What if Meg could prove herself to become an immortal like a Hercules?

I love that readers can get a full perspective from Meg and her backstory. It’s always great to see why a character becomes the way they are. Following her quest, I was extremely drawn to how Meg carried herself as a strong, independent female protagonist and ever since I was a child I always looked up to her because of her strength. A super fun and lighthearted read!

Go the Distance makes Meg the hero in this novel! I found the novel to be very intriguing! The story was full of Greek mythology! It was interesting to see how Meg became a Greek goddess in the end! I also like the romance between Hercules and Meg! I thought that they were perfect for each other! I also loved the ending because it was a happily ever after! Thus, this novel had everything I wanted and more! I recommend this fans fans of Beauty’s Daughter, Nobody’s Princess, and Dark of the Moon!

A Twisted Fairy Tale Series Book 11.

Hercules has just returned to Mount Olympus as a hero. Can Meg prove she deserves to be with Hercules as an immortal?

This twisted fairy tale is full of action! I was on the edge of my seat to find out how Meg would face the next challenge. Along the way, Meg learns to trust those around her, how to have compassion for others, how to call for help and to believe in herself. It was a true hero’s journey. I loved the descriptions of people, places, and the emotions they were experiencing. I also liked how Calonita educated the reader about Greek Mythology. This is a great book for readers that like lots of action!
