In this novel, the mother of a Marine stationed in Iraq narrates how she spends her days coping with her son being overseas. To help her through this time, Jacqueline rents out rooms in her home to veterans. And while her son tells her very little about his time in the military, Jacqueline fuels her obsession with the stories of her tenants.

This novel was tough to get through but I enjoyed the perspective. At times the stories are funny, infuriating, heartbreaking, and encouraging. Buckle up for the range of emotions this book will bring!

Wow these stories were amazing and blew me away. I had to read this book in parts though because they were difficult to digest. I appreciate the author writing these and I would like to share these one day with my husband who is a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, he suffers from extreme PTSD so they may help but sometimes reading things like this sometimes help me understand him although they make me incredibly sad.

I think this should be required reading for all Americans so they can appreciate our veterans.

Thanks to Netgalley for my advanced ebook copy.
