This was a saccharine sweet romance about two professional women that find love while working in the world of real estate. The plot follows the typical path of two seemingly different personalities working through their own struggles to find a happily ever after. The book is heavy on the romance, and light on struggle. Although there was lots of potential, for me it comes together a little too easy and falls flat.

I'm fan of the author, I think I got most of her books by now. almost all of the author books there's a dog and a cat. and usually they're super cute but in this one i felt like they were not necessary and did not add that much to the story. I honestly would love to see her go into different style,

The story itself is pleasant. I liked brook a lot more than Macy and I really liked the ending.

Thankful for the author and her team for the copy in return of an honest review.

Georgia Beers always writes lovely romances and this book is no different. Two main characters to like, some animals thrown into the mix and romantic scenes that gets your heart aflutter.
This story with Macy and Brooke is lovely with two different personalities seemingly not fitting together at first, but as in any good romance, this changes fast and the connection is there. As a reader I could see it too and the doubts leading to the conflict made sense without feeling like the writer was trying too hard to get some drama in there. Actually I don't need to say much more than: another solid book from one of my to-go-to writers whenever I am in the mood for a romantic book to curl up with.

Georgia Beers is known for writing light-hearted, adorable romances and this book is no exception. Brooke is a real-estate agent who has recently moved to upstate New York from Ohio. She's started a new job at a renowned agency who works frequently with a property staging company, where Macy, the other main character, works. Their first meeting is disastrous, as clumsy Macy drops a plateful of raspberry danishes on Brooke. Brooke is described as this almost ice queen who is obsessive about order, but she's really not. She's reserved, but that's to be expected as she's in a new city without knowing anyone. Macy is described as this flighty, flaky person, but she has more depth than that. She harbors deep love, not just for her many pets, but for the people in her life. I love that the relationship between the two develop organically. There's the attraction at first meet, but they got to know each other while Macy is showing Brooke around town and introducing her to new people. Both of them have emotional baggage to deal with, but as mentioned in the book, who doesn't have those? If you're in the mood for a warm-your-heart, gentle, minimal-angst romance, this is definitely a good book to check out.

This book cover reminds me of the YA book covers I used to see back in 2007 around the age I started reading adamantly.

Like the cover portrays, this book was cliché, stereotypical and rather cheesy. I wouldn't reread nor would I recommend to any of my reader friends. The target audience for this book should be 12-15 as I don't think any other ages would relate to the themes in the plot.

Do people have more than one true love? Macy thinks so. She lost her true love due to a accidental fall at home. Since then, she has been filling her home up with pets. 5 to be exact. Along with her pets, she is incredibly clumsy and also dropping or breaking things. She goes to the real estate company that hires the company she works for for home staging. She is trying to make a good impression by bringing danishes. Until the newest employee, Brooke bumps into her and gets raspberry filling all over her white suit jacket. From this point, they continue to see each in different places. The more they see each other, the more they talk, the more they realize there are sparks between the two of them. Everything is going smoothly for the two women, until Macy finds Brooke unconscious at a open house. This brings back all the memories of her partner that died. Will the women be able to get over the past?
I would recommend this.

I'm a big fan of Georgia Beers and her books so my reviews are not always completely unbiased and this book would be more a 3,5 stars instead of 4 if I want to be completely honest. Both Brooke and Macy are lovable main characters, there is decent chemistry between them and the writing is as always solid.
What I would like from good authors like Beers would be to take a chance to write something different. I noticed that in her last 5-6 books the pattern is always the same, 2 mains with instant chemistry, a few cats and dogs, the mains get together at some point and then soon there is the predictable conflict when they break up and then make up just before the book ends.
I respect Beers so much and I think she has a great talent. It would make me so excited to read something different from her. Hope she does it with her next work cause from the description of the new book I simply cannot wait to read it!

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publishers for the opportunity to read and review "16 Steps to Forever".

This was a lovely comfy read. Brooke and Macy are the main characters, ably assisted by loyal friends and family. Georgia Beer does provide her readers with great multidimensional characters and makes the best use of interplay between them to develop the storyline and plot and propel the main characters through the twists and turns. It reads so well because it is so well-written, the characters and the backdrop are so well described and defined which draws the reader in and keeps them engrossed.

The preview hints about Brooke's character I found puzzling, simply because once Brooke was hit by chemistry she came into her own and the relationship between herself and Macy had the right mix of chemistry, reservations, limitations, and physicality. As les fic romances go, this is another winner from Georgia Beers. Loved it. 4.5*

I’m always amazed by this author’s stories she writes such beautiful words and this book pulled me right in and wrapped it’s arms around me and held tight.
We all expect great thing from Beers and once again she delivered with this take me away from the real world pull on your heartstrings romance.
The two mains are lovable and the chemistry is definitely there as the story starts to unfold. Brooke is a strong woman and kinda comes across as icy but as the pages turn into chapters we find out that she really is sweet and lovable. Macy is so adorable that you can’t help but love her. Now put the two of them together and that is when the magic happens I can’t tell you about it but your gonna wanna find out.

This was light hearted girl next door romance.

Brooke just moved to upstate New York for a job as real estate agent she knows what it’s like to have people let you down and although it’s seems Brooke is cold she really isn’t she just keeps things close to the vest. She actually really funny and compassionate.

Macy is a property staging homes and offices she likes that it gives her control and although she had a great love once and still mourning she stills believes in love. When Macy accidentally runs Brooke down while on her way to meeting where Brooke works it doesn’t go great but as they keep running into each other in and out of the office a friendship is form.

As they get to know each other neither are looking for anything as Macy shows Brooke around their friendship starts to feel more. I really enjoy this read the chemistry was on point I love Macy because she so cute and clumsy. I like that it was low on angst and it was more fluffy and cute this could be a great rom-com on Netflix Amazon or any network. I like the supporting characters I so hope we get a story with Sasha I love her.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

“16 Steps to Forever” is a very sweet, lighthearted girl-next-door romance. In a way, this reminded me of “Hopeless Romantic” in that the romance is the focal point of story. It’s the story of two women meeting (in a delightfully embarrassing meet-cute) and falling in love. There’s a touch of angst but it’s mostly a fluffy, adorable story.
The blurb is a tad misleading as it makes it seem as though Brooke is an ice queen. She isn’t, she’s just a bit more reserved at first. She’s funny, considerate and loveable. Brooke has just moved to upstate New York for a new job as real estate agent and also to get away from her family when they won’t accept her being bisexual.
Macy is adorable and charmingly clumsy. She had a great love once and is now happy hanging with her pets and family. She meets Brooke when she accidentally runs her down on the way to a meeting. Macy is Brooke’s company’s property stager for the homes and offices they sell. After the incident, they continue to run in to each other in and out of the office.
Neither one is looking for anything other than friendship. Brooke is new to town and doesn’t really know anyone so they start off as friends with Macy showing her places around town. Their chemistry is pretty obvious on their second meeting and it doesn’t take long until they’re going from not date dates to actual dates. From then on, it’s all about the fluff and romance and their palpable attraction.
I do want to mention that there is a black moment for a minute, it should actually be considered a gray moment right around the 90% mark. However, it didn’t make the ending feel rushed in this instance as the issue was resolved fairly quickly because Brooke and Macy are grown women who actually know how to use words and communicate, which was refreshing.
I recommend this to all fans of pure romance. If you want to just get away from the stress of your life for a couple of hours this is definitely the book for you.

I love Georgia Beers. Seriously, she is one of the few authors that I will support without reading a sample beforehand. Because she’s just that good! Macy and Brooke were perfect for each other. It’s interesting that the synopsis makes its seem like Brooke is a little cold and unyielding and that is far from the truth. She was just reserved but was really willing to open up to Macy, Lucas and Sasha. I loved her personality and Macy was sweet but no pushover. They are the perfect couple. I just don’t think that the drama at the end of the book was necessary. But other than that this book was close to perfection. And I really hope that Sasha gets the next book!

Georgia Beers has written another super sweet story! Macy and Brooke's first meeting did not go as well as either one had hoped. Fortunately, for Macy, Brooke didn't hold a grudge but instead found her clumsiness to be endearing. Macy and Brooke's relationship was sweet and the reader couldn't help but root for these two. Macy's nephew Tyler was an excellent addition to this cast of supporting characters. I found all of the business names to be incredibly witty as is the title. Thank you Georgia Beers for another wonderful read!
